Hey mate, is it OK to feature your clip in a moto edit some time soon? It will be credited in the description & comments section with your name watermarked on the clip. Thanks, MM
I've watched all your hornet vids as I am currently trying to revive a 1999 that has been neglected for the past 10 years. Your videos have really motivated me to get it done, the bike is so sweet. Sorry to see the crash, glad to see you're back on a bike though!
Thanks for the kind words brother. Respect for getting your bike fixed I wish you luck with it, it's worth it. The hornet is such a special bike, I hate myself for crashing it.
no need to hate yourself, the honda gods have blessed us with better bikes since 2005. but ofc the hornet still holds strong. glad to know youre alright at the end of the day
Crash because don’t have ABS like me a week later. in an emergency we react instinctively and you went into wheel lockup due to ABS. obviously I am aware that it wouldn't have saved you anyway perhaps but it could have gone differently
"Ride to the limits of what you can see" valuable lesson. I shall learn from your mistake. Buying a hornet this weekend all going well. Passed my test this week. Cant wait!
Glad you're ok. Simple lesson i was taught "only go as fast as you can see to stop". That way whatever happens you should have enough road to stop. Unless someone cuts across your path, which does happen. Have you done any advanced training or read the principles of ROSPA? I found the uk police motorcycle book very useful for looking ahead, looking for obstacles, looking ahead for positioning, looking ahead for saying what i can see. I also noticed i could ride quicker and more relaxed by looking further ahead. I also practiced riding to the left, to the right, holding a set distance from the white line through corners, all so i could improve my control etc. Your riding looks like you're close to your own limit, and that you're trying to go to the limit on the road. With such a good bike and tires it's just not possible to reach the limit on the road of the bike and tires. Have you seen the video of Pedro Acosta as a kid riding a CBR 600 in a car park around cones/mini roundabouts and he's getting his knee down while flipping from left hand to right hand circles? That's how good your bike is. I hope you understand to back off from trying to reach the limits on the road. It's exciting but not possible. Perhaps aim for more controlled precision at a lower speed, and look further ahead while saying out loud what you can see that might affect you.
Glad you are ok, love your videos, I've got a 2001 Hornet 600 but with the full faring, had a crash similar to yours on my previous bike at 20mph and ended up with a snapped tibia with ACL avulsion fracture and 3 x bolts and 6 months off work! You were lucky, ride safe ❤
Oh man this sucks. Not optimal lane positioning but you could've still easily made it. But I understand, it's adrenaline and instead of pushing the left handlebar and looking away from that car you hit the front brakes too hard. That's why it's very important to practice emergency braking every now and then from different speeds, especially on bikes with no ABS. On the positive side, locking up that front wheel in a left turn sent you flying to the left, away from the car :) I hope you're good now and still enjoying the MT03. Definitely safer too :)
Yeah true good tips there. I panicked and grabbed the brake. It's easy to say one thing and actually do it in the moment. I've been practising braking since then and hopefully if another incident comes I'll do the right thing. And mt03 is sold sadly 🥺
I am so sorry for the really rough crash, glad to see you ok and without any damage though! 😞 So sad to hear that the hornet didn't make it...the 2003-2004 one is my dream bike and I hope to get it someday. 🥰 Been 2 years around your channel and enjoyed all of your hornet videos multiple times, you did a fantastic job. Ride safe and enjoy your new bike. ✌
Wow thank you so much for the kind words, the hornet is such an amazing bike and I'm sure you'll love it like I loved mine. I will always miss that bike but at least the videos are there to remember it. Be careful out there and enjoy.
Cheers from Brazil. I'm glad you're okay. And sad for your Hornet. But the important thing is that you are alive. Soon you get another bike. Big hug. Are you on Instagram?
Shit, gave me a scare and fright as well. Luckily you are fine and the people in the car. Things could have end worse! Thanks for sharing. This video will def. kept in mind when I'm going to my ride my Hornet.
Last year I crashed my Tiger 800xc on the bank holiday weekend in August. My first big off. Fixable, pride and lower back badly bruised. Also made full recovery and glad to hear you did. Gutted about the bike tho. Would love to pop over soon and do those Wicklow roads, very similar to Wales in Cambrian Mountains. My family are actually Laffans so would love to visit Slade Castle too.
Hello budy, how are you ? Can you allow me to use an excerpt from your video in the edition of curious facts in traffic? I will leave all the credits in the description, THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION
Fully your fault mate but us bikers learn from our mistakes, your next bike won't end up the same, good to thwar your ok though, some don't end up as lucky
Im thinking about buying the hornet 600 because im getting my license soon and its the first bike i ever drove except an automatic pcx 125 but anyway i just came from your other vid about the hornet and man im sad for you and youe bike but atleast ur okay . Im glad 🙏 . It was a beautiful hornet indeed…
DUDE!! how did you walk away from that with only needing two weeks recovery 😱? I'm so glad you are ok!!! Meanwhile im sitting here still nursing my almost two year back injury from a slow speed drop that was aggravated by getting up off my chair 🥲🤣.
@@iride1999 embarrassingly enough it was my MT-03 which only weighed 180kg 😅. I was too slow going down a sandy driveway that had deep ruts and my front tyre dug into the ground and the bike fell leaning against the bank. I couldn't pull the bike back up from the angle it was on and had to try and leverage off the bank which put my back out in the SI Joint 😅. I also have ongoing issues from a hairline spinal fracture which is making recovery of my SI Joint taking a lot longer than usual. Basically I have an old lady body haha.
Hello, Rider! How are you doing? Love this clip! Would it be OK if we used it in a youtube video we're making and maybe share it on our social media? We'll credit you in the video and all descriptions. Thank you! :)
Most people let their confidence overtake their skillset when they first get a fast bike. If you're lucky you have a close call, like you did, and reavaluate your riding. Learn from it and you'll be better equipped to judge your safe road speed next time and hopefully a safer rider for your experience. It's better to back off than become a statistic.
Yeah, grabbing a fist full of brake is hard to avoid in situations like this, but gentle braking in the bend probably would have pulled you enough left, Definitely need to slow it down pal, luck runs out eventually. Get a deuville or a Honda Shadow 750 !
@@iride1999 if the hornet was rear ended instead you may of just bought another hornet to thrash ect but this is a good lesson making you a safer rider to make the next bike last longer, atleast you get the chance to ride again, guy at Honda dealership been in a wheelchair since 18 from crash hes 50 odd now but still loves working with bikes
You will die on the road if you ride like this. You have survived this and you might get another few goes but this will kill you. You could have been killed on many of these bends leading up to the crash before it happened if there was oncoming traffic. Control yourself ffs.
