No better way to start the new year than to watch a master craftsman play so beautifully on one of his wonderful creations accompanied by his grand-daughter!! Cheers!!!
Hello Marc. Thank you so much for your comment, it is very much appreciated by us all. Start planning for the next build now. And a restoration film of a 79 Stratocaster. Happy New Year. Mike
@@mitarrguitars nice to be inspired Mike, beautiful looking guitar. Is that. Seiko kinetic your wearing on the vids? Great watch, just a pain if you don’t give it enough wrist time! The wee guy is pretty good with the hammer, my heart missed a beat when he had his first go but done a good job eh! Nice of you to take time out reply Mike.
Hi Ed. Yes your spot on about the Watch. Funny thing it stop work for many years, so I had a go at changing the power/ battery/ capacitor source. With the wonder of UA-cam I managed to get it working. The watch is 25 or more years old now. I’ve a big thing about watches, you will see them all on my films. Thank you for you comments I really do appreciate it. Best wishes Mike.
Mike, I cannot thank you enough for sharing your skill with the world. You have inspired me to attempt my first guitar build (starting with a Telecaster). I'm a drummer by education and trade, and play the guitar only slightly, but I have learned so much by watching your work. I hope you hope you and your family have a happy and healthy New Year!
Lacobus Tres. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment it is very special. A Telecaster is a great guitar to start with, and my favourite to build. Any help just ask. There is a lot of info on it. Ive got two Tele builds on UA-cam both different but the main ideas are the same. Keep it simple first the you will be fine. Mike
Thanks you for your comment pleased you enjoyed the films, it is very much appreciated. Very well spotted about the pick. I’ve played guitar since I was 8 or 9 and have always held it like it. I never really notice myself until I starting teaching music 20 years ago now. I’m a very light player with my right hand, play from my wrist not my arm. And it means I rock the pick between my index and ring fingers, while holding it with my thumb and middle finger. Very strange I know,. I teach all sorts of guitar stuff but never how to hold the pick. I do have a young girl student who holds it the same., only one I’ve ever see. Thank again Mike
Beautiful guitar and beautiful grandchildren. One question, do you plan to make a 100% Les Paul guitar? Prodigious hands, congratulations on your work.
Hi Jose. Not at the moment but I will do. The next build will be a carved top, PSR type but not sure if it will be single or not, or have a trem. Best wishes from Wales Mike.
Anyone who plays Thin Lizzy gets my vote! Gary, Scott and Brian....doesn't get any better! Sounds great!
Thanks Russ, Thin Lizzy songs was always popular in our old Band, and went down well in the pubs. Mike

Stayed until 3 AM to watch the whole build, no regrets 😁😁
BTW never seen anyone hold a pick like that, any particular reason?
