My name is Jess and I started a mobile detailing business in May of 2023 with absolutely ZERO knowledge. I am sharing my journey and lessons learned as I go and grow through business.
In today’s video we detailed our second ever RV. This RV was in need of a full exterior wash, oxidation removal/wax, roof cleaning and rubber roof protection.
RV’s have been a massive learning curve, as it is not something that I have a lot of experience with, but as this detail progressed, so didn’t our process.
If you’ve been curious about starting a mobile detailing business and want to know what it’s REALLY like, hit that SUBSCRIBE button now ‘cause I don’t hold anything back!

I've done 2 RV's, and I won't do anymore. Both times customer said it just needed a wax, and both times it was extremely oxidized, and it needed serious work. Even the pics they showed me didn't help, it was way worse then what the pics showed. There's so many regular cars out there to detail, screw RV's lol
haha honestly, I want nothing to do with RV’s, this was a friend’s that my husband said yes to which is the only reason we did it. Not my jam! 🤪
Hi Jess that why I like your videos you always show us something different about detailing I’m a detailer too for last 20 years and I can say you will be excellent detailer in de future I think in this case you can find the correct products there are thousands on the world Best wishes from 🇨🇦🙏
Rv's are not bad if you use the right products and techniques, they are a lot different then auto detailing yet similar, Superior products makes a great Rv soap Road warrior it cuts them black streaks like butter, And polishing gel coat is best used with a rotatory buffer with wool pad pro tip is to use a spray bottle of water and get the square you're going to work with wet and heavy cut gel coat compound then polish till it comes back perfect then come back with a sealant or ceramic coating a lot of money to be made doing rv/trailers.
Do people actually pay a lot of money?
U should try Adam’s wheel and tire cleaner, it’s way more effective than brake buster
Thank you! There are so many products and so many recommendations, it gets overwhelming! I will definitely put it on the list to try next!!
It's a great cleaner but Brake Buster is a pH 10 and Adams is a pH 12. Which is a huge difference in reality. Once you get above pH 11 you have to be conscience of time applied.
I've done one RV, and that was it!!! All three came out very nice. Props to you both, that's alot of work👍
They’re some serious WORK! We are loving washing them though 🙌🏻 Washing with two people has been awesome!
Jess kudos to you for showing when things go bad and what it takes to fix it. It looked great after the polish.
Thank you!
15:00 $900 for 2 persons $450 a piece divide that by 3 days you made $150 a day each. Minus the products and taxes, how much did you guys made in profit? 🤔
Chad from maryland , love your videos. Hope you and your husband had a great christmas. Keep them coming
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you!
where do you and your husband live . Loooks like some where warm

It's great you are learning these lessons earlier rather than later, RVs and boats will beat you up. Looks great!
Thank you! That’s why I’m ONLY doing them for friends at the moment at a discounted rate! And I’m thankful for them giving me the opportunities!
The only time we accept RV jobs is when the customer is okay with our agreed hourly rate and in no rush. Usually, 1/10 of our inquires actually go ahead and book which is fine LOL.
Curious what you guys used to dry since I see it was hose water and not spot free
I use Gyeon Wet Coat for my sealant or sometimes I use Superior Formula 4 Wax and I wash and dry one/two panels at a time.
Congrats on growing your business. I’m fr Fla so that was a good move for detailing. I’ve thought about it myself here lately. Nice job on the RV. I’ve helped my dad and they’re not easy at all. 👊👊
Thank you! It’s been tricky not having a personal network down here but once it starts rolling, it keeps rolling, thankfully! And thank you - they are tough!!
Thank you guys for such honest and explanatory video
Thank you - RV’s are definitely not my forte!
8:36 No wax applied by hand will remove that 🤷🏻♂️
Happy New Year Jess and word of mouth is always good
Thank you so much and happy new year to you!!!
@@DetailWithJess keep up the good work
Jess & ur partner did fantastic awesome job detailing both motorhome & travel trailer they look brand showroom new know got paid well
Thank you!
I love detailing RVs lol that’s where the money is at. Every year I detail Montana fith wheels for 2 weeks straight at Elkhart
If I choose to ever grow a team, I’d love to get better at them, but whooowhee, this little girl doesn’t have enough shoulder power in her for RV’s 😅
Fantastic job well done as you said LEARNING it always gets better with experience. How much longer are you going to keep the helper on probation?
🤣🤣🤣 He’s on RV polishing duty for 3 more months, then I’ll set him free

U DID GOOD 👌
Thank you! It was some serious work!!
It is perfectly okay to do acid Bath to remove oxidation.
I would love to learn more about acid - it’s on the list! THanks!
RV.S SOMETIMES ITS VERY TIME CONSUMING.
did you moved to Florida?
No, I was just there for the winter
Within the first minute of listening to her I can tell why she’s married🎩Congratulations to her spouse 💯
Cuanto costo ese servicio
❤❤🎉
Hi Jess do u need any permits do go mobile detailing
In my state I just registered my business and had to get a sales and use permit. Some towns may require water permits possibly while other towns may not allow for water run-off. But that’s all.
Wrong products
7:15 🤣😂🤣 AGAIN, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING! Please take notes, AGAIN!
California Custom "CLEARCOAT" Cleaner and Wax is the wrong product for that job!!!!!!!!:
- It's an RV!
- RV's dont have a clearcoat, they have a gelcoat!
The right product for that job should have been: California Custom "NON-CLEARCOAT" Cleaner and Wax.
If your mission is to entertain the viewer with this clown show, then mission accomplished. SORRY but this has nothing to do with detailing at this the moment!
@@chadgrindel2408"dude your comment isn't needed keep it to your self" .......... Said the dude, not keeping his comment to himself!? 🤣😂🤣
btw: My comment also had useful information in it. Why not mention that?
@@chadgrindel2408 I made an offensive comment > just like you.
I gave some useful information in the process > just like.......................................................Ohh right, you didn''t!😆
What is your problem? Constructive criticism is ok but why be nasty?
@@philipheilman5413 "Constructive criticism is ok but why be nasty?" do you think this was my first post on this channel? Every time i watch a video on this channel, the "detailer" is doing something wrong and i comment, sometimes i go hard on the person but always constructive. I dont see a Problem here. btw: i did say "SORRY" in my comment.
I do see a problem in not criticizing the detailer and commenting on how they did a great job.❤🔥💋🤤(couldn't find the p*nis emoji). Good for the ego, not good for business!
apology accepted@@julientaylor
I hope you charged at least $1K for that.
We should have!!! It was my first ever though and when I do them for the first time and don’t really know what I’m doing, I give a deal because I’m not making any promises on the results…
