As usual another great vid. You do a wonderful job in short period of time, which I like. When I was in the Army many years ago we just did not have these opportunities, I never knew of them. They never told you much. The Army is so better today than ever before.
Patrick Vickers so? He did a video on MARSOC. That’s what his channel does, he makes videos about different parts and aspects of the ENTIRE military, not just what he did.
I can appreciate the "Executive Summary" for those who have the attention span of a half-eaten MRE, but I do hope that a deeper focus will be placed on the history, training and to some degree the tactics used by our Special Forces, and perhaps, in time, those of other friendly nations and those we face in OPFOR. I enjoy your content very much.
@Miles Henry You will have to go to Ranger School regardless if you get the BRC pipeline in the Corp. But that's not RIP/RASP. But be warned, we only let marines come to Ranger School so we can watch them crawl crying back to the Corp! Lol Good Luck.
Used to train Rangers at Ft Benning, and Mountain Ranger School in Dahlonega GA way back in the early 60's. I was with the 29th Inf Div at Benning. Brother, those guys earned that Ranger tab, tough nine weeks.
A CO 3/75 back in late 80's. RASP didn't exist back then. Airfield seizures were king at that time. Little birds, dirt bikes and special Land Rovers were all used and all ops were at night....I always wanted to get one of those Land Rovers if they surplussed them but never saw them come up. Good times....long ago now.....
I wasn't a Ranger but was in the Infantry. My first unit was 2/47th at Ft Lewis in 1982. When I was still an E-1 or maybe an E-2, we were driving from our barracks to Lacy, Wa where one our friends lived off post in some trailer park with his wife. A car full of girls came up next to us and yelled, " Are Y'all Rangers?" And when we shook our heads no they drove off. That's my Ranger story. They were the Varsity kids on the block at Ft Lewis and we all knew it.
Those were likely aspiring "Ranger-etts". (AKA Ranger groupies.) Actual Ranger-etts would be able to spot a Batt-Boy on sight... even in civilian clothes. It seems every battalion has them in some form. Back in the 90's the really hardcore ones even traveled to Ranger Rendezvous and had their own meet up.
Hello sir, when exactly was he there? That's when I was there! Enlisted in '96 got to the Regiment in '98, made RRD in '99-'00 and left for Green in '02 after Gecko/TF Sword and got out, well later. Is his last name Rosenthal/"Rosie"?
Some of you may notice foreign internal defense not listed as one their mission sets. Highly interesting that USASOC uses its rangers primarily as a direct action oriented “special infantry” if you will.
The book "Violence of Action" gave an interesting look into the evolution of the Regiment's capabilities in the GWOT, apparently Rangers have more direct action raids than Delta and Seal Team Six combined at the Tier 1 level in the GWOT.
I got 3 years till i can enlist and all i want is to be a ranger, i may not be the best like some are but it motivates me to get up and work for my honor, Rangers lead the way!
Back in 1993 my Company Commander ask me to do Ranger School. Well at that time I was 40 years old and politely said no sir...... I told him it would be a waste of time due to my age. He did not realize that I was the oldest soldier in his company. I can handle Ranger School mentally, but physically I can't. Company Commander have sent earlier three volunteers that were in their early to mid twenties and came back broken...(ie: broken leg, arm, and ribbs). If you are gonna do Ranger School, do it at the age of 18 to 26, be in great physical shape, and many of you just might make it. HeII I went thru Jungle Warfare School in Panama at the age of 30 and barely pass. You got to do all these high speed military schools while you are young.... not at the age of forty or older.
I'd love to go for RASP. Atm I dont believe I'm up to standards so I wont go for the Option 40. The Option 04 is just Airborne I believe and I will go for that. Are there any other schools I should focus on while I train for the chance at RASP? I know of Air Assault and Field Sanitation. Anything else?
The only school you need is Airborne, none of the other schools will prepare you for RASP, they may be nice to have but won’t really give you an edge. As for the PF comment, PF is where you learn slingloads, HLZ establishment and planning and then the monster of a test that is...the dreaded Drop Zones. I never used my PF skills in regiment but I did use them as an RI for our VIRS drops. Anyway...just focus on RASP if that’s your goal.
Justin your instructor is lying to you , or you have the time frame wrong, Because, there was no 2nd Rangers during the Vietnam War, the Battalions were not formed until after 1974, and the war was already over by then, 1st Bn was formed in 74 and 2nd Bn was formed in 1975 , I served in 1st Bn at Fort Stewart Ga, before the move to Hunter (HAAF) Savannah Ga, from 79 to 83, RLTW original scroll and black berets
Just try to remember all who watched or are watching or want to know about this step in training. This is just the start that it thereafter is much more if you want and can do it
@@soapfrost1418 Basically you'll learn how to patrol or jump into an area to lay out or cut out drop and landing zones for follow on line/main forces. Please dont quote me on that a lot has changed since I was in now they have and use vehicles, and that is probably the one school I didnt go to The Regiment does their own work ups for that in selection for Recon and Air Assault and Sapper also touch on Pathfinder skills in their classes/selections.
@@LifeisaSpecialOperation Thank you sir for your service. Do you get clearance to make these video? Lots of question but i don't want to bother you with it
@soapfrost141 Here is the layout of PF school, the first week is nothing but sling loads, you'll need to show up already knowing the nomenclature and rated capacity of sling load load equipment and at the school you'll learn different methods of attachment and which aircraft can handle which ones, you'll conduct a sling load inspection test and this one is quite a but harder than the one at AA school, however not as hard as the one at the actual sling load inspection course. Next you'll start on HLZ's, you'll have to learn a lot about the different rotary wing aircraft and the the LZ size that would be required given certain aircraft and what formation they are flying in, whether or not they have a sling load ect. Most people get through HLZs just fine. The hard part is DZs, you wil burn some midnight oil on the reg trying to cram a ton of information in on the establishment and operation of all kinds of DZs from VIRS, CARP to GMRS DZs. This is by far the hardest part. If you look up FM 3-21.38 which is the Army PF Manual, you will need to pretty much memorize the entire thing.

So I have a serious question. I'm currently in AIT and have volunteered for an option 40 contract and I'm fuckin' stoked. I got my clearance, I've passed all the mental evals, and I've been doing PT with a SSgt in the 75th every day for the past month and a half and still have about a month of classes to go (and some working out on my own time in the evening). As I'm going through though, I'm being told that if I pass and make it into a unit that I'm going to be treated like absolute shit since I'm a "Batt Boy" and haven't earned my tab. I don't know how true this is so I thought I'd ask an expert who's actually experienced the units. (If there are others in the comment section who can also give info on this I'd be greatly appreciative). Even if it is true I wouldn't change my mind about joining. I've been wanting to be in special operations ever since I was a kid. To be the best of the very best. I just wanted to know if that's what I'm gonna be facing if I get into a unit. Thank you for your time sir.
Can you do a video on Sapper school? I love your videos and am in highschool trying to figure out what i want to do in the army so thanks so much for all the tips and lessons
I tried to reenlist and get an option 40, apparently its hard to get an opt 40 as a reenlistee. Then I tried to reenlist, and figured I'd take my chances on applying for the regiment through putting in a packet after serving whatever unit station time I had to(1 year as a support MOS)....after passing all physicals at MEPS they told me was beyond the age limit, and could only go Reserves or AG. I am in tremendous shape too, got my 2-mile time down to 12:17, maxing all other events on my PT test. So I didn't reenlist :( If any of you are thinking about it, don't wait till it's too late if its something you really want to do like I did. But anyway... RLTW, ATW.
One video recommendation, and I could be 100% wrong here.... because I never served. So if I am wrong, my apologies. When showing the 5 banners at 0:47, show that the 75th RGT is the "parent" of the other 4, in some org chart looking visual. Also, did I miss it, did you talk anywhere that the Ranger Tab does not mean you are a Ranger in the 75th. Or did I get that wrong too? Having said all that, outstanding videos.
The battalions collectively compose the Regiment. So the commander of the 75th RR is superior to the commanders of the Battalions if that helps you imagine what’s going on there. The Ranger Tab simply means you graduated the US Army Ranger School. The course is 64 days minimum (I for example spent 92 days there for recycling mountains). More or less anyone can attend Ranger School. You could be a supply guy working for an aviation unit or a Stryker mechanic and go to Ranger school and get your tab but at the end of that you’re still whatever you were before. In the Regiment, if you’re in a combat role you must get a tab before you can serve in any leadership role so the highest rank you could achieve without it is Specialist, although you’d still get treated like a private in that case. Support guys, like a supply NCO in the regiment does not have to get tabbed but of course it’s highly encouraged.

Sure you are

How the hell did you do that? I could’ve sworn prior service Corps have to enlist under the 18X contract...Meaning IF you made it through selection THEN the Q course you drop from Group to go to Regiment???!
Semper Fi bro 0331 here former MEU SOC Marine
I really love your respect, and admire you for you and your brothers service. I really appreciate you making these videos. Keep up the great work. These videos, It's an awesome legacy. You really help us millennials get a clear picture on attacking the most difficult things in life and I appreciate that. Any more info on psyops? A man of integrity is trainable.
I have been waiting for this, this is my biggest goal in life
As usual another great vid. You do a wonderful job in short period of time, which I like. When I was in the Army many years ago we just did not have these opportunities, I never knew of them. They never told you much. The Army is so better today than ever before.
Leaving April 16th for reception. 11x with an option 40 contract. Let’s get it
Carson V good luck
July 15th sane contract
Sam Rivera awesome. Goodluck bro
Good Luck.
I think you missed the Regimental Reconnaissance Company.
That is the elite inside the already elite 75 Ranger Reg.
Can you do a video about them???
i think they are in STB
They r jsoc
This will be the most viewed video
A Business Hope so.
Hell Ya! I've been waiting for this video for a long time, Thanks.
Do united states marine corps force Reconnaissance next can people like this so he can do a video on it
He wasn't a Marine vet
Patrick Vickers so? He did a video on MARSOC. That’s what his channel does, he makes videos about different parts and aspects of the ENTIRE military, not just what he did.
I can appreciate the "Executive Summary" for those who have the attention span of a half-eaten MRE, but I do hope that a deeper focus will be placed on the history, training and to some degree the tactics used by our Special Forces, and perhaps, in time, those of other friendly nations and those we face in OPFOR. I enjoy your content very much.
Who else is planning to go Ranger ?
@Miles Henry You will have to go to Ranger School regardless if you get the BRC pipeline in the Corp. But that's not RIP/RASP.
But be warned, we only let marines come to Ranger School so we can watch them crawl crying back to the Corp! Lol
Good Luck.
me
LRSD 3d RRD LOL
I'm going force recon then marsoc
@Miles Henry pretty weird since marsoc is higher and harder than rangers
Ship out in June ! 11x option 40 and could not be any more excited
Your videos on the AFSOC units are very useful to me, love from the Nebraska Air National Guard.
Can you do a Recon or Navy SARC video?
Good video brother! Spot on!
Very Educational video on these intelligent soldiers. My man was with L Co. 75th Infantry 101st Airborne in Vietnam.
Nice!!! Love your video!
Thanks so much, I was waiting for this video.
Used to train Rangers at Ft Benning, and Mountain Ranger School in Dahlonega GA way back in the early 60's. I was with the 29th Inf Div at Benning. Brother, those guys earned that Ranger tab, tough nine weeks.
IMHO I think the origin of the term and Robert Rogers are really cool.
My grandfather was a Ranger in during the Vietnam he was positioned in Korea I respect the man and may he Rest In Peace.
Yes thank you for making this!!!
Hooah Flying Dutchman!! was part of Aco 2/75 3rd Plt "Earthpigs" back in the 80's! We were doing the same.... yes. Long ago now
2 years of college left and I'm going for 68w option 40 contract.
Rangers DO indeed lead the way! Thank you sir!
Since ww2
Great video! We like it very much here. Outstanding graphics, plain english. Just what we love for our language training program. Спасибо!
Love your videos they always come out when I want to learn more about special options groups
I had studying this topic since last night!!Salute!!
Ah man, this takes me back. 1st Bat, A company here, got medically discharged in 2005.
Another great video. Ive met alot of reg guys and they have always been the quiet professional.
My son is 2nd BATT I am extremely proud of him. As a combat vet, NCO and a simple 19K
My cousin Keith was 3rd Batt. in the 90's, post Somalia..
Hello sir, when exactly was he there? That's when I was there! Enlisted in '96 got to the Regiment in '98, made RRD in '99-'00 and left for Green in '02 after Gecko/TF Sword and got out, well later.
Is his last name Rosenthal/"Rosie"?
@@lrsd3drrd448 He went to 3rd Batt right after Somali, within a few months I believe, got out in 98' if I remember right..
Could you please do a video on and about Sappers, sir?
RLTW all the way..
🇺🇸🖐✊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Some of you may notice foreign internal defense not listed as one their mission sets. Highly interesting that USASOC uses its rangers primarily as a direct action oriented “special infantry” if you will.
They're essentially the world's premier light infantry shock troops, specializing in airfield seizure and DA but capable of much more.
2nd BATT BABY!!!!!!
SUA SPONTE!!!!! Great vid!
Enlisting with an Option 40 as soon as possible. Rangers lead the way!
Another great video. Could you do a video about the Navy Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsmans?(SARC)
Semper Fi to our Ranger Brothers! You guys deserve every bit of your well deserved reputation! High standards for a reason!
Currently serving in the marine corps as a 0311 wanting to re-enlist with the army to go to rasp
Great info, and as always great videos you share. I was hoping you would touch on the Regimental Reconnaissance Company or Detachment.
Adrian Herrera yeah, I want to see him talk about The Company as well. TF Red.
Do a video on the Force Recon marnies
whats a "Force Recon marnies
"
Can you do a video on pathfinder school? Love the channel and the format of the videos you put out.
Anything else?
gitchu that Pathfinder badge.
Once again, another amazing video
One of my martial arts teacher's was in 2nd Rangers in the Vietnam War.
@@way75mit9 All LRP/LRRP units changed to the 75th ranger regiment on 2/1/1969
❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing.
Just try to remember all who watched or are watching or want to know about this step in training. This is just the start that it thereafter is much more if you want and can do it
Enlisting to become a ranger this summer
If you don’t get an option 40 contract but still wanna go to RASP their are 75th “recruiters” that hang out at AIT RLTW
Can u explain what Pathfinder school is?
Soapfrost141 Sorry, man. Not planning on it.
@@LifeisaSpecialOperation roger sir
I am not a ranger now but once my contract is up and I am considered a vet I was a ranger back in nam with the 1st ranger battalion. I saw a lot of good men die
I really want this, just not sure if I have the right personality, I definitely have the intensity.
You can certainly make up a rack well enough.
@@IndustrialMilitia haha
Any tips for getting into ranger recon? Maybe not the unit itself just normal recon for the 75th?
My father was ranger scout recipient man in the south pacific He served in Newginie followed by services in the Pilopenes. I new nothing more than he was in the army. I found his discharge in his safety deposit box.
He was awarded 2 Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star with a Cluster consisting of 2 additional Bronze Stars and a Bronze arrow point.
He made 6 Beach landing
He had 1 stretch of 186 days.
Before he passed away he gave my wife a box containing his letters to my mother
And her letters to him with the understanding that my wife was to give
Looks to be a little different from I went through. Ranger Class 5-70. Hotel Company (Ranger) 75th Infantry.
Hell yeah brother! Forgot to mention they are an element of JSOC. Great video though.
About them sending you packing, that is so true, I had to literally fight another guy to stay in. We both were caught fighting drunk the previous night and our 1st Sergeant made us fight in front of formation the next morning, the winner stayed the loser went to worldwide. Well to say the least I ended my career with 3 RRD with over 10 schools, two more selections passed, and three more MOSs. Never seen the other guy again, dont even remember what his name was.
Any wannabe Rangers read this, it will be the most fun and dangerous thing you will ever do with your clothes on, it is NOT easy, you will EARN your slot EVERYDAY. SUA SPONTE, and Carpe Noctem!
Isn't only the RRD part of JSOC and the rest part of SOCOM?
@@redleg32002000 negative the Ranger Regiment is or was TF (Task Force) Red and each Battalion is assigned or work with a corresponding alphabet lettered Sabre Squadron or Troop of "Delta" or TF Green; ex: 3d Ranger Battalion and C Squadron of "Delta".

Stop putting me down. Have faith!!!!
1:53 “goes through rasp” -shows a ranger school picture
Great video! Rangers lead the way!
Thank you for doing this video. Leave in June 11B Op40
Collin Woodard I’m leaving August 6th 11x. Good luck brother
Hunter Morris same to you
Please don’t quit in RASP dude. Just stand on those rocks and wait it out bro. Then do your fucking PT. If you wash out ok, but don’t fucking quit...
Can you do a video on Sapper school? I love your videos and am in highschool trying to figure out what i want to do in the army so thanks so much for all the tips and lessons
Can you do a Seals explained/DEVGRU explained video?
Thank you for making this
So let me see if I got this right ?
Battalion - LT colonel/Command sergeant major
Company -Major/ First Sergeant
Platoon -Captain/SFC
i can't wait until i get to feel the pride of earning my tan beret tab and scroll!
Are they count as special forces? Like Green Barrets and SEALs.
I’M PROUD AND LOVE ❤️ MY RANGER !!
RLTW, ATW.
That’s tough brother. How old are you? I know SF you can get an age waiver if you’re shit hot, read stories of 30+ year olds making it through the Q.
what commands do rangers delta and greet beret sit and compare
Try and get a SARC one.
If you go to the airforce or navy can you still become one? And if so will you need to start at the bottom?
Other branches can go to ranger school but that is VERY limited but otherwise no
God Bless the 75th.......the best of the best
I am interested in this might do this as a career choice
This statement is exactly true 100 💯 percent 😉
How difficult is it to get a score of 105 or higher for the GT section
It’s not hard just take the test seriously and you’ll be fine.
