Great comparison.. one of the most overlooked points that doesn’t get talked about: customer service. Guarantee SX will care about their customers.. have friends that couldn’t get a call back with issues from anyone at avianX.. needless to say, they switched to SX Love the content!
So now that you have reviewed both the sx decoys and the avian x honker fusion decoys. Witch of the two would you recommend? I’m planning on buying a whole new spread of one or the other but I’m stuck on my decision. The only difference is I would by painted decoys instead of flocked more than likely. Thanks in advance!!
I always bag them in the individual bags and carried them in another 6 slot bag. I don't throw them around or kick them personally lol. They are still brand new looking. I am very careful. I only used them about 8 or 9 times too. I would say the flocking is very good but it will rub off if you don't bag them or knock them around...like other flocked decoys unfortunately.
I should try to weigh them to get the exact weight. I would say it is very similar to the other decoys. Very hard to say by just holding them. The heaviest is the stands, Those square stands are heavy duty, same with the avian X, I know alot of people just run the stakes and not the square bases as those are bulky and heavy.
@@mushercdn A small hunting and fishing store here in Bonnyville called ''Source for sports'' ... one of the workers there is a outfitter and uses them and had ordered lots last year. His prices are very very steep though, I will try to order some directly from SX next time I purchase some.
Hi I ordered them online off the SX decoy website straight through Scott at SX decoys. Watch out for the cross the border fees though and the shipping costs. There may be a local store somewhere where you are that has some though. Be good to call Scott and see what the options are for your area.
Flocking means they have a soft velvet texture on them, this makes the light reflection less reflective on them than just straight paint. They appear closer to feathers texture. I believe flocking are small nylon particles that is like a dust almost that is sprinkled over the plastic, and then the decoy is painted over the flocking.
Another great video! I like the way they looked when you shot the video from your deck! Great choice of decoys! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks again Rick ! :)

Honestly, it's hard to say. Both are excellent decoys in my opinion and will fool birds. Depends if you can get some good deals on either one.
Just wondering how the flocking held up? I’m looking at getting some but I’m hard on my gear

How do they compare for weight? If the bags mold over the decoys and do not move they will really protect the flocking. Thanks for the video.

@@NomadicWoodsman Where, in Canada, did you find the SX's? I hope they prove to be durable.

Nice looking decoys, where did you buy in Canada?

Just Wow 👌👌
I love my older ghg pro series more than any other decoy I wish they were still making them.
What does flocked mean?

Really great video, do you think you could compare the FF SX and GHG pro grade xd candas
Hi unfortunately I do not own any GHG pro grade XD canadas right now. I own the older GHG model, the FFD elite but they are discontinued I believe.
Love my SX decoys, watching your video of them makes me wish I’d have bought a few dozen more before they raised their prices
Right on
imo, the Avian one look much better and have a much greater finish... even if smaller
I still like the older GHG's more than any of them
I would have to agree with you ! The older GHG's look so realistic and I really like all the different positions on those !
I want to get more but can't seem to find them here in Washington state. And I have to agree with you. The decoys now don't have near as many poses.
I hope they start producing some soon again. If not maybe on kijiji or facebook marketplace you could find some good deals.
They are not carvings. They are copy of DSD.
What do you mean by that
He means they copied a Canada goose. Dave Smith Decoys are over rated and really overpriced.
