Yeah, I was starting to wonder about you. Since you last posted I bit the bullet and got myself 3 Katahdin's, 2 ewes and a ram. They certainly are NOT goats! My biggest issue is my ram has a poopy butt. Started when I picked him up, he was even foaming at the mouth. I chalked it up to stress. I gave him some Pepto, but it still took awhile for the foaming to go away, but it did. The diarrhea did not clear up, had a fecal done. He had cocidia. Treated him and even got medicated feed for him and the ewes. He is still looser than I am comfortable with, kind of like cow patties. Thinking about cutting back on feed and increasing dry hay. Yeah, definitely NOT goats!
That ain’t normal sheep behavior don’t worry. I think you just bought a sick one, cause most sheep people will do that too ya. I’ve hauled rams all over and none of em ever got coccidia out the trailer cause they didn’t have it going in. I had bottle calf come and start with it once, and told the old timer and he started treatment right away, but it took his 3 days longer to start scouring. Handling brings out the worst in everybody.
Glad yer back. Ya never know who took a barber chair cuttin on some dead leaner, or wrapped a bike around something ya know? Got moved down to the new farm but I’m still living in the 8x20 next to a big old steaming pile of 1775 house. I got some great neighbors. That come walking on the place. Guys a retired cat mechanic with spare d4 for me to borrow and his daughter is a pro enduro rider that wins competitions. I hear her rippin around on the mountain. Anyways, goofy, but I thought of you when i learned that even though ain’t uploaded shit in ages
thats awesome. I just saw this comment. These girls today don't ride like girls used to ride.... they are serious about it. Back in my day women rode but very few actually trained and pushed... these girls today are savages.
That barb wire was already there or I would not have ran it... mainly that would be for cattle to keep them from putting head over and riding that woven wire down.
Glad you are back and everything is fine!
I did same last year. Used some old pond liner that was heavy enough. So far so good
Glad to have you back Alan. How many different groups of sheep are you running at the moment? Sure you will be glad to put some together soon
Missed you buddy! Your mine belt and antenna gig is a great idea! Might have to steal it.
I hope it works out. I thought about putting brackets and 2x6 boards I just never like the idea of how easy they are to push through.
Good to see you back
Thanks 😊
Don’t forget about us we like the vidjas!!😊

Can you still get the Calf bolus in the Blue box at Tractor Supply?
@@alanwesterfield4254 Don't know. My neighbor gave me some type of bolus when I had my bottle calf, never needed it. You ever use it on sheep?

@@HoneyHollowHomestead I have a long time ago. When I first started with sheep I purchased some coccidiosis..... read swamp yankees comment there.

That will work unless it don’t!
