I have been saying ported barrels like the Lakeline barrel are the way to go for awhile. They add very little weight and length while helping with muzzle lift and often can work with regular holsters unlike bolt on compensators. I'm glad to see such positive results in accuracy and recoil. Thanks for sharing.
Check out magna-port Jerry Miculek has virtually all his guns magna-ported. With magna-porting the gas is directed at a slight angle instead of straight up..
Man that is very good company. Not sure if AL still owns that company he was very cool guy they moved to TX. Hope Al is still there he has brought cutting edge after market items to the firearms industry for years.
I bought one for a Taurus and it was just delivered. I have not yet shot it. It looks very good and fits the pistol well. Watching this video, I am excited to see what it does in my gun. In my research I found out that I can only shoot rounds that are actually jacketed in ported barrels. Some very popular loads which are labeled "FMJ" are coated, not jacketed, and these thin coatings can be shaved off by the port and thrown back into the shooter. I won't name these brands here, but, there are warnings on the boxes of these rounds. Read the boxes of you practice ammo before you use it in a ported barrel. Thank you, GB Guns for what you do. Your content is always spot on and I am a faithful follower.
Lakeline has been a great upgrade for my Taurus barrels. I think after watching this I will try it with my LTD19 from Lone Wolf. Not gonna tinker w/the Dusk as that runs absolutely great as is. Thank you for the testing video these are awesome and informative.
Man that reaction says it all!! I dig me some ports and comps, the gasses being pushed up makes the barrel go back down faster which helps with follow up shots. So why not do something that can potentially make range time funner!!
Interesting that such a small vent can help while there is already little gas. My understanding was that the port has to be big to get enough volume but maybe its the all out in front position to get less gas but longer at the end. At the same time Block had the comp further back, maybe better reliability when limp wristing. If one has more gas the bigger opening with less velocity but higher pressure and volume should be better with that pcc ammo.
I only recently discovered Lakeline. I am very happy to see this video. I was most impressed with the Ermox actually. I am so glad you tried it in that pistol. I do wish you had shot more with that. Like you, I enjoy unique, odd, or different pistols, and the Dagger is simply a Glock clone. Not interesting for me, but I understand it would be for many more than the Ermox. I have been debating whether I want the Ermox and this really pushed me toward grabbing one. I am personally hoping Lakeline come out with parts for the Taurus TS9. I did ask and at the moment they don't plan to, but one can hope that will change. There are no parts in the US for the TS9, not even from Taurus (other than magazines because they are the same as the TH9). There is a flat competition trigger available for the TS9 in Brazil, and a variety of different weight recoil assemblies in the Philippines, but of course, they can't just ship them here. Hopefully someone will decide to import these items.
I wrote my first comment before "What's for Dinner". Since you used it in the demo, I will pass along that Blazer Brass is one of the loads the article I read mentioned as being coated instead of jacketed that should not be used in ported barrels. I have shot all of my Blazer Brass, so I cannot verify if the box has a warning on it about this issue. I would appreciate if someone would check and see if it does. Thanks again for the timely video.
At first I thought you might be confusing CCI Blazer Brass (FMJ) for Speer Lawman (TMJ), but sure enough, CCI’s own website says, “Do not use in firearms with ported barrels or ported recoil compensators” on the product page.
I've been trying to see what after market or Glock original parts might work with bul armory axe. Very excited to see this. I've been struggling to tell if any Glock or aftermarket magazine release extensions would would. It doesn't look like either the gen 3 or 4 releases are the same... Any ideas?
No, it would not, break-in during the first 100 or so rounds would keep that from being an issue.. Regardless, would recommend a good coating of gun grease on the barrel, particularly during break-in.
@@LakelineLLC hey that is great information, thank you. Glad to see companies responding. I wish you guys could make one of these ported barrels for my CZ p07
I would think that the longer the barrel the more leverage the port will have to mitigate muzzle rise. This would make me think that the ported barrel on my new Gx4 xl might perform better than it did on your Gx4. What do you think?
That could be true. A longer barrel will also however have less gas pressure to work on the port. How much less I do not know. I dig science, but not math.
The added weight of the longer gun has an impact - less natural barrel rise. Add in the ported comp barrel and it is very smooth in the longer guns, without sacrificing muzzle velocity since the port is at the end. you also will get a bit more gas pressure - longer barrel means longer burn time. Regardless -these are really fun to shoot!
@@LakelineLLC That makes, and if you aren't using a round loaded for really short barrels you shouldn't have less pressure in the longer barrel. If I'm thinking this out correctly.
I am really wanting to get one of these ported barrels for my gx4. I do have a question about them if any could answer it for me. How much louder is the ported barrel over non-ported on the gx4?
I purchased a ported barrel for my G2C, straight trash! I followed the instructions and added gun grease to it before installation. While racking it, the slide got stuck in the rear position, and I couldn't move it. I had to lock my firearm in vice grips and tap it hard with a rubber mallet to get it released. Lakeline advised me that this was normal until it wears in. How absurd. I have to "wear my firearm in" before I can expect it to save my life?! I will never purchase a barrel from them again!!!
@gbgunsmedia Absolutely, I modify my firearms for self-defense applications. That's the purpose of modification....to increase the performance of a firearm/rifle pass OEM standards!! Are you serious?
This video convinced me to get one for my g2c. I've had all the other lakeline goodies for years.
Love the Lakeline barrel and micro comp combo on my G2C. They are proof that crazy high quality does not have to have a crazy high price. Great video.

Got a lakeline ported barrel in my GX4 Carry n love that thing man it shoots great
My new lakeline ported barrel pushes back with no kick. I love my GC3 more than ever!
So it fit with no issues ???
Daddy like! 😊 Gonna see if they have one for a 34 and test with/without my 2-stage spring.

I didn’t think this was going to do much, but works great on my Taurus GX4
Thank you much. I've been wondering about this company's barrels.
Now this test in several very popular guns is valuable !! I'm very interested in one of these for a Glock 27.
All right, you convinced me.
I ordered one.
Appreciate your honest reviews.
This barrel makes for one heck of an upgrade. We were really impressed
Great Review. Thanks for proving the product performance across the ammo spectrum. Cheers 🍻

Definitely watching on my lunch break! Have you tried the Monsoon Tactical Glock? Pretty sure that's what it is
I have not.
Looks like an impressive barrel.
I've always known Lakeline to make good stuff, but this really impressed me.

I have a threaded Glock 17 barrel in my full size Stoeger STR9 and it function perfect also just FYI. Just another pistol that takes Glock barrels.

Tames the GX4. Eats Plus P 124 grain pills all day. Very well machined. Perfect snug fit.
Great vid , I just wish you would have actually used a G19

I'd have to rewatch the review we did of the GX4 video to remember, but shorter guns like the GX4 are pretty loud to begin with.
Anymore feed back coming on this barrel?
Do you know if they're planning in doing these for the G17?
What grain would shoot the softest, would 147 HST be a good option?
New sub I have a glock 30 gen 4 can I purchase this for my glock?
What brand or service did you get you ported barrel and slide from ?
The barrel is from the title of the barrel.
Does the porting barrel dirty up the front sight
Not much because it's blasting on the back of the sight. No obstructions to sight picture.
@@GBGuns if I have night sights how should I clean it off if the back of the sight gets dirty just some gun cleaner
@@j.7.62 yea, it'll wipe off like any other carbon. Be careful to keep gun cleaner away from your night sights. Some cleaners can damage them

Lone Wolf used to make ported barrels like that.....not fluted....
This barrel is ported and fluted.
Poof, ordered one, gonna try it in my Kiger, Axe, and my G19s.
