It is not only Victoria. Switzerland is going to have a vote on a new CO2-law next Sunday. It is only a tiny step in the right direction. Still, I am dreading the outcome. You're doing good work here.

Excellent video, would love to see and update a quick Google didn't throw out this document but did show me the Gov's (new?) Strategy. But this stuff needs to happen quick! And needs to be seriously ramped up soon. The EV commitment for 50% of light vehicles is just not enough.
Also engagement with indigenous communities on adaption and resilience will be very important.
I work in CC and Adaptation/Resilience Research in the UK and I find the honest gov ads re CC in aus terrifying. The UK is by no means perfect but I'm worried for you guys. Keep up the good work!

Any updates, how did it go down?
I came up with 2 ideas that together can save the planet. 1 Stop cutting all our trees. 2 Start replanting the ones that have been cut to build houses or shopping centre.

Step 1:
Turn off the frikken city lights at bed time. Do shops really need to burn all that coal-fired power when no-one is shopping?
A simple, easy to implement plan(🤔) and one that could make a significant reduction to the already gargantuan carbon footprint.
Running the lights at night cost nothing. Allowing the dynamos to continue is much less costly than stopping and starting them.
@@citizen116 Each and every store like JB Hifi, Good Guys, Harvey Norman has dozens of huge tv and computer screens running 24/7, some as hot as a radiant heater. Thousands of offices in the city running lights and airconds 24/7. Mate this represents a huge amount of power when people are all home watching their own big screens in their climatised house.

1,000 people collaborating does not cover the 6.6 millions population of Victoria, nor the community. How about getting a bigger sample of your community before looking to push such changes just like every other system someone else establishes to meet their own virtuous needs. Just because it makes you feel better, does not mean it is better for all.

unfortunately climate change wont impact at all much in western nations since most of the pollution are in Poorer countries. and the poor wont want to get any poorer to change their ways.
Poorly planned solutions is worse than no solutions. Problems are much more complicated than you think. I’d suggest you not to act on unarticulated ideas and stop with the sloganeering.
And now we actually produce more co2 than ever before.

Climate activism has been mostly business for some elitists using young people for free pressure towards politicians.
