I am from India and almost nobody among our politicians talk/discuss about climate change. The masses are also largely unaware about this serious issue and even the so-called 'educated' people (like those in my college) couldn't care less. Heck, I myself have never given it so much thought until very recently. This has to change, we have to save our planet 😔😑 the only thing which seems I can do is make others around me aware about this and possible mitigation measures...so the ordinary people can vote better politicians in power. Yes totally agree, from India too. I am listening to Acharya Prashant's lectures and his activism in this field is unmatchable as far as India is concerned.he has asked for 3 main things that every human Being on the planet should do: 1.Reduce carbon footprint by changing lifestyle esp. Celebrities and the Rich people 2. One Child Policy or being child free esp. India! 3.Going Vegan / Cutting down heavily on animal products consumption.
compared to other countries(Mostly western) we see that india is doing much better in this situation, especially with the solar panels. I am from kerala and from what i noticed the green forest occupation has gone up , ive seen noticeable difference in other states too with their solar panels and electric cars i, a lot of climate activists in our country blame the population but they arent actually that major of a factor even though they are one because as previously explained in this video the rich consume and produce more greenhouse gases than the poor which take the majority le me also remind that our country has more poor and only 1 percent "rich".

I work in the concrete repair industry in the DC metro area and one of the things that DC has implemented is a requirement that 50% of all concrete waste from demolition is recycled. At first we thought this was going to be a huge financial impact but it turned out to be cheaper to recycle rather than send it as trash. Now we recycle more than our minimum because it’s cheaper to do so. Incentivizing really does work! Edit: I forgot to clarify, DC subsidizes the recycling of concrete to incentivize companies to use the service more than required and is part of the reason why it ended up being cheaper.

Also, be cautious about companies that pretend to be climate friendly, like Apple. They say that they care about the environment, but at the same time they're fighting to remove the right to repair your stuff (not just tech, but everything). This leads to a HUGE waste of resources.
They also moved all their manufacturing to China to dodge all the pesky regulations. But no, totally listen to the "greater good" people who want you to give up everything while they live by a different set of rules.

But electric cars allow people to enjoy the lifestyle they have come to expect while still cutting down on harmful emissions. It's actually a win win, but it's not the total solution.

Currently, I'm studying car design and am contemplating doing a final year project that explores the idea of using bamboo as car body panels and extruded aluminium and 3D printing for chassis production. I'll spare the details but basically, smaller factory floors, lower production emissions and more sustainable cars on top of the switch to electric. I don't know if the tech will ever take off but this is my contribution, at the very least, get a conversation going.

@@breft3416 Disagree, car design would make more of an impact because like it or not, there will be way more cars on the road. People want their freedom. So even a tiny improvement on car emissions will reduce way more pollution than a huge improvement on trains and busses.
yeah, if you think about it in a place like california that tried to implement regulations towards climate change and stuff like that ended up loosing population that migrated to texas, and several other states just because the cost of life was increasing a lot and taxes were very high. so you cant just "impose regulations" or "promote green energy" without fucking up the population (or at least for now). i really want a solution for the way of "you emmit, you pay" in a global scale that increases over time and makes contaminating industries no loger profitable in all of the world.

I struggled for a long time with how my love for the environment converted to a deep desire to save it and yet how overwhelming and ineffective it felt. Eventually I realized I’m neither a politician or social savant, but I do love fish and I know how important they will be both as an ecological force and as a nutrient rich protein source. I cannot make a change by driving myself mad saving one more gram of CO2, but I can join and innovate in a growing industry essential to creating a cushion around the effects of climate change. Focus is essential, and community is essential to fostering the group mindset to keep positive change in place.

In other words you fell for stupid graphics. I hate these info-graphic'y presentations because they are still appeals to emotion - the "comfort food" of analytics. The image is more important than truth. Rapid Climate Change is a meta problem. For instance, electric cars are promoted as an unchallenged solution in this video, where the are distinctly not. So even this video is incredibly (literally) flawed. There are several good points, but remember, Bill Gates has lost his mind. The best, valiant attempt at boiling RCC, here, is seriously even seriously flawed. I like that the video introduces realistic, disturbing dissonance. The situation is nuanced. I thumbs-upped the video.

Most videos that focus on environmental issues only deliver fragmentary and superficial messages such as 'Let’s use tumblers and stop using gasoline!' without addressing the actual dangers and severity of climate change. However, this video stands out as it has a clear purpose and meaningfully discusses the critical issue of climate change.
Something that I feel like isn't addressed when talking about agriculture and reducing emissions is that 1/3 of the food we produce simply isn't eaten because we think it looks weird or buy too much food. I know that simply reducing food wasn't won't solve everything, but reducing food waste both reduces the emissions to produce food and gets git of pollution from that food decomposing at landfills.
Also today’s agriculture relies on feed which is not good for the environment to produce. Grass fed animals are very beneficial tho since grass traps insane amounts of carbo from the atmosphere. More than what the cows fart since it’s a feedback loop. Cow farts turn into trapped carbon in grass then the cows eat the grass and fart it back out but not all grass is eated so there’s more carbon trapped then is taken out of the soil. Natural food for cows produces better quality meat too
It also doesn't really address the major elephant in the room: Mono-crop agriculture is just as destructive if not more so than factory farming. So not even the vegans can hold their heads high.

@@NathanCassidy721 exactly, since my country has more than half its population in agriculture, we knew early on about crop rotation, intercropping and multiple cropping. Sadly, it isn't enough to feed the world's second largest populated country.
Here in austria there is a app where you can upload your leftovers and people who are in need can come and pick it up! But since corona that also lost a bit of population... I hope other countries can try things like these too!

Consider that a small change will still have an impact. For example eating less meat will cause an animal less to die. That might not sound like a lot, but it's a whole lot for that animal.

I mean veganism and vegetarianism has increased exponentially the last 10 years compared to what we had 50+ years ago but can you actually say as fact that meat consumption has decreased or even more importantly, has meat production decreased? Wich is what essentially produces CO2 and harms the atmosphere, so I think that unless there's a very radical change of more than half of Earth's population we won't actually have any valuable change.

Lol just because the climate shifts does not mean life on this planet is just going to die out. This planet is in a constant state of change, this ball of rock we live on used to be covered head to toe in molten lava and has been dealt numerous extinction level events, yet this planet still thrives. Climates change regardless of human intervention. We will either be long dead as a species or have moved on to inhabit many worlds by the time we doom this planet. It will be quite some time before we will even have the ability to destroy this planet.
Not only it helps a little, but it helps raise awareness, promote good habits, send the right signals to markets... I think there are a lot of good secondary consequences to individual lifestyle changes, as long as we know they are insufficient and don't get too fanatic about them.

And yet climate change isn't. The dinosaurs were around for close to two hundred million years. They were clearly fine with global mean temperatures 10°C higher than today (CO2 levels were 3-4 times higher back then). Burning ALL the fossil fuels in the ground would raise current temperatures by roughly 10°C. If the dinos can survive it, I'm confident we can too. And we have air conditioning.
This is probably the BEST video about climate change and carbon emission, not only in the channel, but in the entire internet. I have to admit, the last time you guys talk about climate change you didin't touch the topic of the "carbon footprint TM" and I admit I was kind of pissed about. All the propaganda (because it was) about the topic in 2019-2022 focused on how the change was responsibility of the individual and honestly, I was tired of it, unable to bring myself to the idea that somehow we as individuals had that ammount of power in the matter and angry about the tale that developed countries had about the issue. I have some news for you. Grasslands trap MUCH MORE CO2 than trees... except tree-hugging hippes and total weetads would lose their sh!t if companies started cutting trees making room for grasslands... which is why they have to plant trees as a showoff.

Some ideas: - Eat produce that is in season - Buy less things. Go for quality over quantity - Get a car that consumes less fuel. If you don't need an SUV, maybe get a hatchback or crossover instead. Also look at the efficiency of the engine. (This will also save you money) - Buy things second hand, sell what you dont use If you live in a house: - Install a heat pump - Grow some of your food yourself (fruits, sallad for example) - Insulate properly

Well in the US, voting does matter in local elections. The "powers that be" don’t really interfere in local elections. So voting for comptrollers, mayors, and local judges do work. But it implies that voting brings radical change, when it doesn't. Political activism is needed desperately and it's disappointing that they just casually skipped over everything outside of the political system's framework. The technological and financial wherewithal is already existence to make a thorough shift globally, within 40 to 50 years, from fossil fuel power and energy sources to much more efficient and much more abundant renewable and nuclear power ones that emit zero greenhouse gas emissions. Concurrently within 40 to 50 years fossil fuel vehicles can be completely replaced globally by hydrogen and electric ones, which will give no secondary and indirect greenhouse gas emissions since they will be connected to power generation sources that produce no GHGs. Furthermore, having a non fossil fuel energy and power infrastructure, due to the great abundance and efficiency of the fuel sources will enormously bring down the costs related to sequestering of the emissions and effluents of factories, meaning that all factories will not release GHGs into the ambient atmosphere. These and other things means that it is possible to not only reduce the rate of global warming, but also even reverse the negative effects of climate change.

It seems that the trouble with vote with your ballet/wallet is that individuals don’t necessarily have the knowledge or resource to truly understand the targets of their local/federal governments. If Government behaviour and objectives were more clearly conveyed to public citizens, I think we would see a clear shift in party agendas as the public would be able to more easily vote in favour of addressing sustainability. It seems that most people typically vote based on 3 things: - Candidate character - Party values - Previous voting choice If people were provided with clear information regarding their voting options, these three decision making factors would become insignificant.

Guys, this is was like commercial for the green parties, these parties had majority in EU parlament for last 5 years, during that time prices of energy have trippled, stagnation has turned to staglation, and prices of real estates have doubled, farmers are pushed really hard and at the same time EU import meat from Mercosur, in the meantime China has built more coal poweplants compare to the rest of the world combined. Funny is, that during the time the EU CO2 trace has not decrease! Different countries have different approaches to the climate, there is no united global effort, never was never will be, only thing that can help are new technologies, but for that we need functional economies that are not choked down by central restrictions

If you ever heard of the term “Litterbug”, it’s from companies like Coke a Cola switching from glass bottles (that they would collect clean and re use *expensive*) to plastic one use bottles. This caused a lot more trash and because of how light they were they would go everywhere from wind. So coke decided to shift the blame to consumers for the added trash saying we just didn’t do enough, when in reality there was a much better solution that they discarded (glass is also more easily recycled)

I don't think the youtube algorithm shows this to the people who most need to see this. It only shows what you're already interested in, keeping you in the same frame of mind. For many people, it holds back change. Not to mention hundreds of other algorithms like facebook, google ads,... But still, this video has great value
Maybe we can do our tiny part in this as well: share this information with people within our reach that we know will listen to us. The more people know, the more the change we all need.
The last bit was the most impactful and important statement to me. "Everybody will be unhappy about some aspect". Many people think that industrial policies and green tech growth is something that will eventually be done without affecting their lives. People need to realize that showing support for these changes means accepting a temporary price hike or other inconveniences during the transition. Also, I agree that investing in green tech sounds like by far the best answer to "what can you do?" Really great eye-opening vid with lots of takes that people rarely think about.
This is why nothing will ever happen, because people expect Green technology to run smoothly. Tbh I am one of them, I want green tech, but I do not expect price hikes in the process. If we invest it should feel effortless

Invest now in Guns, home repairs and other physical commodities as currency will be defunct in less than 10 years.

I wish it wasn't as I was going to retire in 2026 and start a goat or crawdad farm but five years ago I was given a link to what the Federal debt was going to be in ten years in 2025 and realized America simply can't pay back that amount of money. I am honestly not sure if America will exist in 2030 perhaps a few states in the heartland will cling to the American idea(mostly debtor states) but I think some biggies will want to leave with Florida, Texas, California , Oregon and a few of the most important states joining them Florida, California, Texas and California will heavily impact Americas GDP. This the reason I love this channel, it doesn't just repeat of mantra of "just follow """""science""""" bro" like a cult member. I've heard so many first world citizens say to cut back, easy for them when they've already established themselves in a comfortable lifestyle but the reality for the majority of people is different. We can't afford solar panels, changing our energy production on a whim, we can't stop using cheap products at anytime because we simply don't have the resources to do so.
also the vegans were called out in this video, those of us who are not financially sound cannot afford to live and eat a lifestyle of zero emissions. I like the fact about if you were to live zero emission for 70 years, you would only be saving 1 SECOND. Vegans need to stop degrading a single person and collectively come together with people who would if sustainability was the affordable option.
Current generation tech solar panels generate more ambient heat than electricity, wind power turbines are inefficient and catch fire, electric car batteries use rare earth metals, and, thanks Ashley M. people can not eat vegan year round without cross hemisphere importation of fresh food. But all these ideas make plenty of corporate profits. We need new ideas.
Solar panels are all too, since we have a friend who installs them and our government subsides them we got solar panels for like $1K which we can save after about a year and a half but then there's also the battery, the battery you need so that you can actually keep the power you make costs about 7K , since we don't have the battery we generate power during the day and have to sell the power we don't use during the day to back to the grid

I am from India and almost nobody among our politicians talk/discuss about climate change. The masses are also largely unaware about this serious issue and even the so-called 'educated' people (like those in my college) couldn't care less. Heck, I myself have never given it so much thought until very recently. This has to change, we have to save our planet 😔😑 the only thing which seems I can do is make others around me aware about this and possible mitigation measures...so the ordinary people can vote better politicians in power. compared to other countries(Mostly western) we see that india is doing much better in this situation, especially with the solar panels. I am from kerala and from what i noticed the green forest occupation has gone up , ive seen noticeable difference in other states too with their solar panels and electric cars i, a lot of climate activists in our country blame the population but they arent actually that major of a factor even though they are one because as previously explained in this video the rich consume and produce more greenhouse gases than the poor which take the majority le me also remind that our country has more poor and only 1 percent "rich".

I work in the concrete repair industry in the DC metro area and one of the things that DC has implemented is a requirement that 50% of all concrete waste from demolition is recycled. At first we thought this was going to be a huge financial impact but it turned out to be cheaper to recycle rather than send it as trash. Now we recycle more than our minimum because it’s cheaper to do so. Incentivizing really does work!
Edit: I forgot to clarify, DC subsidizes the recycling of concrete to incentivize companies to use the service more than required and is part of the reason why it ended up being cheaper.

A requirement is not an incentive. There is also very little sand available in many parts of the nation (sand is the most mined resource)

Currently, I'm studying car design and am contemplating doing a final year project that explores the idea of using bamboo as car body panels and extruded aluminium and 3D printing for chassis production. I'll spare the details but basically, smaller factory floors, lower production emissions and more sustainable cars on top of the switch to electric. I don't know if the tech will ever take off but this is my contribution, at the very least, get a conversation going.

yeah, if you think about it in a place like california that tried to implement regulations towards climate change and stuff like that ended up loosing population that migrated to texas, and several other states just because the cost of life was increasing a lot and taxes were very high. so you cant just "impose regulations" or "promote green energy" without fucking up the population (or at least for now).
i really want a solution for the way of "you emmit, you pay" in a global scale that increases over time and makes contaminating industries no loger profitable in all of the world.

I struggled for a long time with how my love for the environment converted to a deep desire to save it and yet how overwhelming and ineffective it felt. Eventually I realized I’m neither a politician or social savant, but I do love fish and I know how important they will be both as an ecological force and as a nutrient rich protein source. I cannot make a change by driving myself mad saving one more gram of CO2, but I can join and innovate in a growing industry essential to creating a cushion around the effects of climate change. Focus is essential, and community is essential to fostering the group mindset to keep positive change in place.

In other words you fell for stupid graphics. I hate these info-graphic'y presentations because they are still appeals to emotion - the "comfort food" of analytics. The image is more important than truth. Rapid Climate Change is a meta problem. For instance, electric cars are promoted as an unchallenged solution in this video, where the are distinctly not. So even this video is incredibly (literally) flawed. There are several good points, but remember, Bill Gates has lost his mind. The best, valiant attempt at boiling RCC, here, is seriously even seriously flawed. I like that the video introduces realistic, disturbing dissonance. The situation is nuanced. I thumbs-upped the video.

Most videos that focus on environmental issues only deliver fragmentary and superficial messages such as 'Let’s use tumblers and stop using gasoline!' without addressing the actual dangers and severity of climate change. However, this video stands out as it has a clear purpose and meaningfully discusses the critical issue of climate change.
Something that I feel like isn't addressed when talking about agriculture and reducing emissions is that 1/3 of the food we produce simply isn't eaten because we think it looks weird or buy too much food. I know that simply reducing food wasn't won't solve everything, but reducing food waste both reduces the emissions to produce food and gets git of pollution from that food decomposing at landfills.
Also today’s agriculture relies on feed which is not good for the environment to produce. Grass fed animals are very beneficial tho since grass traps insane amounts of carbo from the atmosphere. More than what the cows fart since it’s a feedback loop. Cow farts turn into trapped carbon in grass then the cows eat the grass and fart it back out but not all grass is eated so there’s more carbon trapped then is taken out of the soil. Natural food for cows produces better quality meat too

Lol just because the climate shifts does not mean life on this planet is just going to die out. This planet is in a constant state of change, this ball of rock we live on used to be covered head to toe in molten lava and has been dealt numerous extinction level events, yet this planet still thrives. Climates change regardless of human intervention. We will either be long dead as a species or have moved on to inhabit many worlds by the time we doom this planet. It will be quite some time before we will even have the ability to destroy this planet.
Not only it helps a little, but it helps raise awareness, promote good habits, send the right signals to markets... I think there are a lot of good secondary consequences to individual lifestyle changes, as long as we know they are insufficient and don't get too fanatic about them.

And yet climate change isn't. The dinosaurs were around for close to two hundred million years. They were clearly fine with global mean temperatures 10°C higher than today (CO2 levels were 3-4 times higher back then). Burning ALL the fossil fuels in the ground would raise current temperatures by roughly 10°C. If the dinos can survive it, I'm confident we can too. And we have air conditioning.
This is probably the BEST video about climate change and carbon emission, not only in the channel, but in the entire internet. I have to admit, the last time you guys talk about climate change you didin't touch the topic of the "carbon footprint TM" and I admit I was kind of pissed about. All the propaganda (because it was) about the topic in 2019-2022 focused on how the change was responsibility of the individual and honestly, I was tired of it, unable to bring myself to the idea that somehow we as individuals had that ammount of power in the matter and angry about the tale that developed countries had about the issue.

Political activism is needed desperately and it's disappointing that they just casually skipped over everything outside of the political system's framework. How dumb is it to walk into extinction because you are clinging on to a concept of civility. Militancy is completely warranted at this point.
The technological and financial wherewithal is already existence to make a thorough shift globally, within 40 to 50 years, from fossil fuel power and energy sources to much more efficient and much more abundant renewable and nuclear power ones that emit zero greenhouse gas emissions. Concurrently within 40 to 50 years fossil fuel vehicles can be completely replaced globally by hydrogen and electric ones, which will give no secondary and indirect greenhouse gas emissions since they will be connected to power generation sources that produce no GHGs. Furthermore, having a non fossil fuel energy and power infrastructure, due to the great abundance and efficiency of the fuel sources will enormously bring down the costs related to sequestering of the emissions and effluents of factories, meaning that all factories will not release GHGs into the ambient atmosphere.
These and other things means that it is possible to not only reduce the rate of global warming, but also even reverse the negative effects of climate change.
Oh yeah, keep voting for the same two parties and throw your money at "something" that makes the world greener. Very helpful video indeed. What do i invest in? Thorium reactors? Fusion? hyperloops? Green walls? And do i vote for old senile guy number one or old senile guy number two? yes, they certainly understand their influence.
The problem is that their viewers aren't the ones that need to hear it. The people that need to hear it are the ones that keep voting for the people that need to be voted out. But those voters can't even be arsed to do simple things that will *save their own lives*.

It seems that the trouble with vote with your ballet/wallet is that individuals don’t necessarily have the knowledge or resource to truly understand the targets of their local/federal governments. If Government behaviour and objectives were more clearly conveyed to public citizens, I think we would see a clear shift in party agendas as the public would be able to more easily vote in favour of addressing sustainability. It seems that most people typically vote based on 3 things:
- Candidate character
- Party values
- Previous voting choice
If people were provided with clear information regarding their voting options, these three decision making factors would become insignificant.
That and lobbying exists, yay voting!

I know it's a bit optimistic to think a large enough section of society will care to make lifestyle changes that promote environmental sustainability but let's hope the efforts of those who try will be enough.
Jacking up the price of fuel and natural gas just increases the suffering of the lower and middle classes. Most of you have never paid an electric bill or you would understand.

Guys, this is was like commercial for the green parties, these parties had majority in EU parlament for last 5 years, during that time prices of energy have trippled, stagnation has turned to staglation, and prices of real estates have doubled, farmers are pushed really hard and at the same time EU import meat from Mercosur, in the meantime China has built more coal poweplants compare to the rest of the world combined. Funny is, that during the time the EU CO2 trace has not decrease! Different countries have different approaches to the climate, there is no united global effort, never was never will be, only thing that can help are new technologies, but for that we need functional economies that are not choked down by central restrictions

I know my comment will go unnoticed but I really appreciate this video, and how well it is structured and explained. Balancing personal responsability while pointing out how big companies use it to blind people from the big picture and advertise 'green' products was GREAT to see.

Me too. I read about the "personal responsibility" scam quite some time ago, but with the weight of Kurzgesagt's exemplary messaging behind it, there's a real chance that more people will see through the scam now.
I saw your comment..!!! Dont worry too much - there are also tipping points that go in the GOOD direction as well as the bad - so we might not be as screwed as people think - but don't tell anyone cos if we mention that people will stop doing stuff and then we WILL be screwed...!!!
If you ever heard of the term “Litterbug”, it’s from companies like Coke a Cola switching from glass bottles (that they would collect clean and re use *expensive*) to plastic one use bottles. This caused a lot more trash and because of how light they were they would go everywhere from wind. So coke decided to shift the blame to consumers for the added trash saying we just didn’t do enough, when in reality there was a much better solution that they discarded (glass is also more easily recycled)

Systemically doesn’t mean government. It means it’s an something that broadly effects a system. I also don’t know if you saw where they said no matter what one individual did no matter how dedicated they wouldn’t be able to do anything significant. It’s good to bring it out of an individual level as we all are apart of the system for the GLOBAL environment. It’s the same when people mention things like poverty or racism, etc. these are systems we have to look at together to be able to change them.

I don't think the youtube algorithm shows this to the people who most need to see this. It only shows what you're already interested in, keeping you in the same frame of mind. For many people, it holds back change. Not to mention hundreds of other algorithms like facebook, google ads,...

The last bit was the most impactful and important statement to me. "Everybody will be unhappy about some aspect". Many people think that industrial policies and green tech growth is something that will eventually be done without affecting their lives. People need to realize that showing support for these changes means accepting a temporary price hike or other inconveniences during the transition.
Also, I agree that investing in green tech sounds like by far the best answer to "what can you do?" Really great eye-opening vid with lots of takes that people rarely think about.

I'm generally a cynic and my confidence in our likelihood of dealing with climate change is not different. unlike in other instances I sincerely hope I'm wrong and I'm grossly underestimating our species ability to come together.
The U.S. has a budget deficit of 300 billion dollars this year and our total debt will be 50 Trillion in 2025, the American dollar will collapse as we will have to default on our debt or risk hyperinflation since the world revolves around the mighty dollar it will be a calamity the likes of which the world has never seen.
Invest now in Guns, home repairs and other physical commodities as currency will be defunct in less than 10 years.

I wish it wasn't as I was going to retire in 2026 and start a goat or crawdad farm but five years ago I was given a link to what the Federal debt was going to be in ten years in 2025 and realized America simply can't pay back that amount of money.
I am honestly not sure if America will exist in 2030 perhaps a few states in the heartland will cling to the American idea(mostly debtor states) but I think some biggies will want to leave with Florida, Texas, California , Oregon and a few of the most important states joining them Florida, California, Texas and California will heavily impact Americas GDP.

not a shocker. have never tried to change my lifestyle for climate change bc i knew it would have little to no effect. i’ve always been interested in the science for a long time but have always known that it has to be up to big companies etc to make a change, we have the science technology but there’s still a lot more efforts especially as emissions increase as we try to make new technology. not a big hitter for me but maybe for some people, i always love kurzgesagt climate change videos

This the reason I love this channel, it doesn't just repeat of mantra of "just follow """""science""""" bro" like a cult member.
I've heard so many first world citizens say to cut back, easy for them when they've already established themselves in a comfortable lifestyle but the reality for the majority of people is different. We can't afford solar panels, changing our energy production on a whim, we can't stop using cheap products at anytime because we simply don't have the resources to do so.
But those of us who can get solar, use alternatives etc should use them to do our part
also the vegans were called out in this video, those of us who are not financially sound cannot afford to live and eat a lifestyle of zero emissions. I like the fact about if you were to live zero emission for 70 years, you would only be saving 1 SECOND. Vegans need to stop degrading a single person and collectively come together with people who would if sustainability was the affordable option.
Current generation tech solar panels generate more ambient heat than electricity, wind power turbines are inefficient and catch fire, electric car batteries use rare earth metals, and, thanks Ashley M. people can not eat vegan year round without cross hemisphere importation of fresh food. But all these ideas make plenty of corporate profits.
We need new ideas.

Solar panels are all too, since we have a friend who installs them and our government subsides them we got solar panels for like $1K which we can save after about a year and a half but then there's also the battery, the battery you need so that you can actually keep the power you make costs about 7K , since we don't have the battery we generate power during the day and have to sell the power we don't use during the day to back to the grid
