I don’t think the books themselves are censured anywhere, but a couple of words have been dropped in more recent editions. I don’t think it’s a big thing. Astrid Lindgren was a down to earth person, and I think she would have been fine with those really minor omissions.

Co2 emissions are heavier than air and therefore disperse all around us. When it is cold, Co2 vaporises. A good example of this is when a plane is flying high in a clear blue sky; we will then see a great cloud of vaporised Co2. Where clouds don't rise, but in low pressure areas they can come down as rain or snow, but they don't rise up into the stratosphere. Although methane, from cows, is a potential greenhouse gas, its effect is relatively short-lived. So perhaps the climate change and the global warming that spelled the end of the recognised Ice-Age, over 12,000 years ago, is also what is happening now? When waste plastic should surely be our true concern?

Inconnu there will eventually be even MORE hunger and poverty if this is not addressed.. the climate crisis is very much in congruence with systemic racism, misogyny, and capitalism, all of which contribute to if not directly cause the issues of both our poverty and climate crises. The poverty/hunger crisis as well as the climate crisis are crises not only rooted in greed but in environmental racism/misogyny. Things are very interconnected here, she knows what she is doing and is a lot smarter than you might perceive her to be.

And my point about environmental racism/poverty and misogyny wasn’t that she herself had focus on that but that changing the laws in regards to the Earth would really contribute to these other issues as they are all interlinked

As a person who grew up in the sixties it bewilders me the the youth of today are not up in arms about the disastrous effects of global warming that will diminish their future in many ways. Back then we put an end to the unjustified war in Vietnam by taking it to the streets. Greta's rational is perfect for the times. I hope her efforts are just the start of something bigger where the world realizes our little space ship earth is in need of repair and acts upon the problem. The Thunberg family has writ a book: This is the story of a family led to confront a crisis they had never foreseen. Aged eleven, their eldest daughter has stopped eating and speaking. Alongside diagnoses of autism and selective mutism, her parents slowly become aware of another source for her distress: her imperilled future on a rapidly heating planet.
Steered by her determination to understand the truth, the family begins to see the deep connections between their own and the planet’s suffering. Against forces that try to silence them, disparaging them for being different, they discover ways to strengthen, heal, and act in the world. And then one day, fifteen-year-old Greta decides to go on strike.

My daughter introduced me to Greta Thunberg the night before the student strikes, March 14th. I was SO IMPRESSED. I had to substitute teach in a local high school (not my daughter's) on the 15th, and I decided to share the video of Greta addressing the UN Climate Conference, a 3.5 minute video, to a classroom of high school seniors after their class work was finished. Some of the students were uncomfortable with the subject matter, and complained to the principal that I was teaching about climate change. The principal took it to the top and had me fired from the school district, even though I hadn't technically broken any rules! Just for showing the video. Today was the day I was officially fired. She is a lovely young smart lady with a lovely soft voice, I hope the world listens to what she is saying. The experts have been saying our planet is dying for centuries, and as usual the politicians just laugh and ignore them. What gets me with people is they believe in a god they can't see, but we CAN see our climates change for the worse every year, yet our leaders ignore what's in front of their eyes. BELIEVE what young Greta is telling you, before there is NO turning back time. When she says what is the use of going to school to learn when there is NO future for them, that made me feel sad. She is right though, why have schools when the world will come to an end if our leader don't stop climate change.

The same everywhere in fact. And then there is this young wonderful girl doing our job. I'm ashamed of the adult generation ,it is us who elected the leadership we have . Every person has the ability to expand their own consciousness and change their consuming pattern and lifestyle. I don't see many people do it, it's much easier to blame the system or another entity. If really people are alarmed by Greta's words I encourage them to change themselves and inspire others and not just point en masse to one class of politicians and businessmen (who might indeed be not very exemplary) just for the sake of deviding the attention of the fact that many of them have get their own mess together.

I think she's awesome, but I find it questionable that the media try to get views by exploiting her. She's still so young, and I know she and her parents probably know what they're doing and they know her limits, I think it's bad that this has become a personality cult. Normally, these types of videos are with actors and other people from entertainment. But Greta isnt entertainment, she is a warrior and something like a prophet of our scientific culture. She shouldnt do these types of entertainment videos, in my humble opinion. This is not about her message, it's only a way for rolling stones to make money.
Give me an honest, long interview or essay by her and I'll gobble it up. This video here just seems wrong

i agree, that is the obvious solution, veganism but also political action, we need to become actively involved on our deeply compromised corporate bought democracies. The cynicism that says 'oh there is no point in voting' or the complacency that says 'im focusing on the spiritual not the political' is a mistake i believe.
We must act now says young Greta, we must march, we must strike, we must write to our senators and perhaps more effectively to our local city representatives, we must join local community building groups, we must change our diet to 100 percent plant based, we must respect nonhuman animals as important as we think we are, we must recover form narcism, a mental disorder where cruelty and irresponsibility is justified by our likes and dislikes.
'I like bacon so thats the end of the discussion' must be seen for the logically incoherent and dangerously antisocial way of thinking that it is.
