    It’s EXTREMELY bad for the media to cover this like this far. He will not feel good on the campus if a camera is always targeting him. He will feel he’s special and other classmates will feel the same. Treat him like a normal student instead of somebody SPECIAL will be the true equality.

      I'm assuming (hopefully) that they just filmed him for this story and will leave him alone to attend college afterward. It's unhealthy for someone to grow up with a camera constantly on them, especially being as young as 13. It would be neat to meet him at some point since I'm also attending GT, but I'm not an AE, so it's unlikely.

    College life isn't just academics. It'll already be hard for him to socialize when he's at least 5 years younger than everyone else. Don't paint a target on him.

    Caleb, being a male with darker skin shouldn't matter. I know it does, but it shouldn't. You are a good example to all 13 year olds! Hold that in your hand and in your heart! I'm a white woman with a brilliant grandson. Unfortunately, he has severe autism and isn't willing to deal with college.
    So I'm so happy to see you, as a "different" person due to your age, saying that "I'm going to do this!"

    • @loisjenkins9563
      @loisjenkins9563 3 роки тому +2

      Skin color should never matter. He has no control or any person of color decided who they were going to be. You can only just be!!!!!!!!!! It's a sickness when someone focuses on skin color. Seek help. I wish him all the success in the world. If God be for you, who can be against you. Great job Dad and Mom.

      It's messed up we even have to speak about this for someone going to college, but it's the truth. Unfortunately, there are racists on campus. Georgia Tech certainly has them. Hopefully, he gets a great support group around him and makes friends with positive people.

    • @Gab566
      @Gab566 3 роки тому +2

      his skin color does matter. he goes to a PWI (Predominately White Institution). He probably already had a class where he was the only person of color, which might cause him insecurity

    Reading at one and first grade at 2 wow! I have a 3 years old child by the end of next October. Still not reading but knows the alphabet by one and half and numbers from 1-20. However, we let her for 4 months in a people who speak only Amharic and now communicates perfectly.

    Good for him ! His mother is right, there are other students out there who have potential, however, they may not have had the opportunity due lack of support or other issues.
    I am glad that he is embracing his studies, and hopefully he will come to accept working 10-12+ hours a day, because some professions call for it. 👍
