Starfleet training isn't what it used to be either. In what war did the commander fight that he so bitterly and doggedly sent his people to their deaths? Survival at all costs, is not enough. We would know how to get along, but our personnel decisions and personnel development are often a disaster.
This was great! Brought tears to my eyes. This is what Star Trek should be about. Not men kissing men. and a hole bunch of lights all over the bridge. God Bles.. this was about blessings.
Not only are the special FX great, so is the acting. In addition to this being very visually pleasing to look at, the musical score was quite moving as well. Very nicely done.

I wasn’t really a fan of this particular production but it was the font used for the Star Trek logo that was used on the gold key Star Trek comics and some early toys.
@@Atlas_System01 And that would be correct sir. Michael wanted to use that because those early comics played a big par in his childhood. Thanks for watching and be safe.

I made watching this one an event. Got my breakfast and gave it the same appointed watch time that I had for Discovery the past few weeks. It was perfect! So many neat things. The story on the planet was touching and poetic, with great performances. The scenes on the Valiant were so cool. It was great to see all the fan film faces, Michael, Vance, Jim, and my favorite fan film Transporter chief Glen Wolfe. I'm really glad this film endured and made it's way to the screen. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Impressive. Even with a short runtime, I felt real emotions for the characters. Great little surprise treats throughout (the cool tent, the slowly setting ringed planet, the beautiful colors in the plants). Congrats on a very well done film and for your love of Star Trek.
Thank you kind sir. We all appreciate your comments and compliments. The runtime was a challenge, as there was so much that we wanted to do but we made choices that we felt worked best for the film. If we had our way, this would have been an hour episode but overall we feel like it gets the point across. Again thank you so much sir.
Over the past week, I discovered and watched all of the Starship Valiant episodes released to date. As a huge fan of TOS, I am happy to say this is real Trek. For a fan series, you have excellent production values, perhaps even better in several areas than the original TOS. Far more important, you have compelling story lines, which is the heart of all Trek. Magnificent job! Kirk Forever!!!
It was alright. I loved the special effects. Liked the references to the USS Hood and USS Republic. The Republic appearing in Star Trek 25th Anniversary as well.
I knew from the get-go that the Dregons weren't simply animals. Different, yes, animals? No. Animals don't build ships for either exploration or war; or even for peace for that matter. They don't build ships period. They are sapient life. they may choose not to converse with others not of their kind, but they can do it and that's what counts. The *can* converse with other species therefore they are not mere animals. This was good work. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you. The "ANIMALS," reference wasn't spoken of them literally as being animals. It was a reference to how some human beings have spoken and compared the existence of other human beings as animals. It's a play on race relations across the world today and how we treat one another and how some people are considered less than human.
@@StarshipValiant I evaluate someone on their actions. And I don't call the ones who act like animals 'animals' as for the most part, that would be an insult; *to the animals.* I call them monsters. @@StarshipValiant I know what the ending says, it's just forced, because everything else in the story shows them as relentless aggressive and remorseless predators. It's like a Jaws movie where we see the shark turn vegetarian.
A very good start, bravo. I only have one critique and one observation. The critique is the way the chief used the tricorder, holding it in a way he could not possibly read it. The observation, the alien attackers faces reminded me of Rudi Giuliani, and I can't un-see it.
OK, one small criticism. The shot of the 2 starships in the end scene. They both were Valiant. 1707. One of them should have been 1700 as it was suppose to be Constitution.
This is top shelf fan production! I started watching the trek series back in 1987 when TNG came out. then i followed with DS9 and Voyager. Thank you nice watch. I liked it very much.
Loved the space battles ,tent trick, and the young girl actress. Writing was fair, could have had some more depth and back story into his anger. A shame the woman red. Shirt didn't get more . Alien makeup great. Saturn and asteroid moons placement not consistent. Ex high in sky then low in different scenes other wise good.
Cant wait to see more of your productions.
Thank you kind sir for watching and commenting.
