I miss Vietnam so much bong Savi. Again, I am half Khmer and half Thailand and I will arrive in Saigon this coming April with my Vietnam wife and Vietnamese mother in-law. I hope we can meet up bong Savi and eat some delicious Vietnamese food 🤤😋
I was on the riverside in Phnom Penh last week and a fake monk came through the restaurant trying to sell those wooden bracelets. Fake monk wearing sneakers. 😄
@@saviyou dope , my suggestions will be taking the trip by train , recommend a stop at quy nhon , nice beach there ( much better beach then Nha Trang and Phu quoc in my opinion )
It’s “Khmer” if you’re using English. If using standard Khmer, it’s prounounce “Khme(r)” with the silent “r” but still spelled with the “r” ending in Khmer writting. If you speak other forms of Khmer, such as that of northern Khmer or other regions that uses other forms of Khmer, you speak how Khmer words are spelled so the “r” is still rolled at the end in many words. The “r”, ending spelled in many Khmer words, went silent in the pronunciation of many words using standard Khmer at some point in history, not just with the word Khmer. It is still rolled in other forms of traditional Khmer. The “r” spelling in many of our words at the end is believed to be once how it was spoken before the change. Phnom Penh slang takes it one step further by silencing the “r” within many of the words, not just the end. So if speaking in English, it is Khmer. If speaking in Indian, it is Kumar. If you’re Thai, you say Kahmen. If you’re using Khmer, you say Amerik for American, Japon for Japanese. If you’re Japanese, you say Nihon for Japanese. If using Spanish, it’s Me-hee-co for Mexico. Due to different languages and their phonetics, it’s just this way. It is correct to say “Khmer” if using English or non-standard Khmer. Likewise, it is correct to say “Amerik” if speaking Khmer. This isn’t unique to the Khmer language, it’s the same dynamic in all other languages.
if you sit for a few days you start to see the same people. The ladies with small babies sometimes have a new baby on different nights. I saw the kids with the fire actually go to someone sitting in a doorway to give them the money and she would direct them to work a different area. Many of the trinket sellers do come from the north as you said. Just making a living but yes bargain if you want to buy and definitely don't believe all the sad stories.

Even if their stories are not entirely true, they do still come from sad backgrounds by developed country standards.
There viet khmer in many places in Vietnam as they move to the city to work , you even can find khmer in north of Vietnam and there quite large amount of Cambodian studying in Vietnam. There even campuchia market in Saigon
Anyone watching these videos about Saigon. It makes the meals and going somewhere fun. But all the downtime in between its not so fun. I found it very hard to find a great cafe and its impossible to find somewhere beautifup and quiet Your Vietnam trip really think what you want and can get from Vietnam. Then plan to visit many cities. Get out of the big cities. Travel to Da Lat and then a circle to Nha Trang. The luxury buses are super comfortable. Central Vietnam has super beauty and the big cities and the culture and its all really easy to travel The North has maybe the most culture and beauty but travelling between is so difficult. Ha Long has no grab 😢 and Nhin Binh is so far but it is really beautiful. If money is no concern and i really mean that like you,are wanting to spend $10,000 a week/fortnight perhaps Saigon would be alright because i would only recomend 5 or 6 star hotels where everything is there for you on day, one. And then you can do some super parties and girl bars. Hey if youre single why not visit the most beautiful women in the world. Be careful. But they dont hurt you or scam you. They are normally pretty honest what they want and what you want However in saying that if you, have $10,000 a week. Go to the top resorts in Hoi An /Da Nang.

On my last day before I went back to Cambodia it was a bus full of young Khmer ppl that came to play frisbee
@@saviyou have you visit the khmer market in Saigon ?
Well, they have to make a living some how. They probably dont sell that much a day. But, 10 person a day at 100,000. That's like $40.
I thought you said ST, food and beer, but it was SG... 😢.
The Cham never rule that place. Is always a Khmer land till the Nguyen came in.
You in tourist area that why the price is high. if you don't want to buy, just say 'NO' and they not bother you.
But he likes vietnamese girls
tell them you're john rambo. they will leave you alone
