This is the type of stuff that makes berserk so unique and deep. Even an apostle, a theoric inferior being, can have a history, a goal, and challenge Griffith
I think the reason why this character is so memorable to me. Is because of the art style every time I see him. It actually made him feel and look very demonic.
Griffith once again achieved his ambition over the death of thousands. With his expert manipulation of Ganishka to being driven to drastic measures Shiva was born and annihilated the reasonable world. With the physical and spiritual realms becoming one his ultimate sovereignty over everything was solidified. The more "good" Griffith does the deeper his shadow grows.
Ganishka's is such a great character and villain. His ambitious drive is unparalleled and I think his thirst for power is probably the strongest out of any character in the series. Stitching apostles together as a tool for experiments, turning human fetuses to demon soldiers, turning himself into a god-like creature because he refuses to bow down to anyone. God, I love how badass and terrifyingly messed up this guy is.
Only one mistake, it should have been Ganishka's father that taught him this villainy and later, made the sacrifice of himself, out of love, to turn him into an Apostle...
4:45 Look at the picture again. It's not the dragonslayer. It's Guts' raider-sword. He just left the hawks and the eclipse (and thus the dragonslayer) is yet to come.
To me, Ganishka was another Gaiserick in the sense of tryin to conquer the entire world in the Berserkverse the way the former king did in his time. The way he’s drawn as well as the artwork surrounding his chapters look amazing.
Even though they have the least personal connection onscreen, Ganishka is a dark reflection of Guts: Both were the unfavourite children of their respective parental figures, who betrayed and attempted to kill them (and both killed their parental figures). Those hardships moulded them into the men they became today. Hell, Ganishka even had his own Casca and son in the form of his wife and son and to further the parallels, both defy the God Hands and the Idea of Evil. -Ganishka eventually gave in to his demons, sacrificed his son (and didn't care about his wife either) in order to achieve more power by becoming an apostle and defied the God Hand solely to become the new ruler. -Guts still clings to his humanity, cares about Casca and their child and defied the God Hand because is the right thing to do and to get revenge for what they did to Casca. -In short: If Guts gave in to the Beast of Darkness, Ganishka is the person he could have become.
Good point but I think if Guts were to give in and become an apostle he'd be the strongest character in berserk. He's already the strongest human to ever live and kills most apostles with ease so imagine how powerful he'd be as an apostle. I don't even think the godhand could compete with that monster.

I have the same thought too. I always imagine, if Casca was a person in real life, her complexion would be somewhere between middle eastern to Indian... around that geographical area.
Miura’s world is a fantasized Europe In the late Hundred Years’ War I think , it make sense because then midland would be basically France and Farnese father Genoa ´s ruler while the Kushan’s would be a different version of the Ottoman Empire . This dude would make a Dark Eldar nod in approval
Sometimes I wonder if Ganeshka is a much greater evil than Griffith.
So far Griffith is the greatest evil
@@nasilelelisselo2348 well Griffith is the most powerful evil but would it be worse to live ( and die ) under Griffith or Ganishka ?
@@stormbringer2840 Griffith
💪🏽🐻
This was a really cool video ! I’m 3 months late! I just discovered your channel and I really enjoy your content

"But what about you?"
Ah, the ever so common sign that a video is over, and the signal to close the current tab.
I'm in love of that arc, sad for him 😞
i remember reading somewhere speculation that casca may be part kushan because of her darker complexion relative to other people from midland.
I think casca come from Miura’s Spain ( it is a Spanish name ) who was in North African Muslim domination for centuries, hence why her darker skin .
It is to note that at this point in history the ottomans conquered North Africa so you are technically correct .
@@stormbringer2840 you mean if the real life kushan empire from the 2nd century became the dominant power of the east and took over all the lands that the ottomans eventually would. it's not really a different version of the ottomans it's literally the kushan empire, like if the kushan empire didn't fall in the 3rd century and ended up staying in power this whole time up until the hundred years war. Miura does take a lot of elements from real life history in fact and just tweaks little things here and there, reimagining alternative histories.
@@env0x yes something like that.
@@stormbringer2840 Pretty sure the Kushan in the manga are modeled after the Kushan Empire of central asia(later south asia) not the ottomans. Its plain to see in their armor and weapons and religions mentioned. But most westerners couldnt be bothered to know the difference between middle eastern and south asian culture.
Falcon of light no Griffith is a demon through and through no dought
He was my favorite villain of the series.
lmao the lazer is so useless if theres like 2 players with the railgun or one decent player XD
Did they animate this arc? I don’t remember watching it
"only in darkness can true light be seen"
Lol that one group. You know i was doubtful about that black sword man. But uf we didn't invite him to that party wow that would have been bad. Lol 😆
Kushan Empire of king kanishka was one of the greatest Empires in India, kanishka rleven ruled most part of china it was said that there was a golden age at that time
Why why do people call Griffith the falcon of light when in the anime and Mangas he is called the Hawk Of Light
Translation changed from hawk to falcon about halfway through manga. The Japanese word wasn't so specific I guess
Translation issues. Japanese “taka”” doesn’t distinguish between hawk and falcon. I personally think Miura intended on falcon because he was a big fan of Star Wars and the arc name was intended to reference Star Wars (Millennium Falcon arc).
Why do people comment this question, rather than reading the comments or if use Google?
29:36 Giggity
I always thought Ganishka was a pretty ass villain. This makes him a little bit better.
King Ganishka was the King of Ancient India, the Kushans are of Indian origins that shows they worship many handed Hindu goddess and he had dozens of war elephants
I disagree I think he was representing both kaniskha and the tower of babble
I have a feeling Praetor Rykard from Elden Ring is based on Emperor Genishka.
Sad the manga won’t be the same
16:57 Sorry Ganishka but the princess is in another castle.
The inspo for the erd tree
0:50 Ganishka look to Mark of Sacrifice on Guts...

Guts: "HaHaHa! Is the first time I've met an apostle who are against the god hand".
iirc, guts wasn't wielding the dragonslayer during his bout
with salat, twas just a regular longsword.
-And wich part of his life is bothered you?
-Yes
Would be cool if we get more apostle that try to reject the god hands
6:03 deadly plaaag.
Absolute mad lad 😂
4:45 silly goose, that's not dragonslayer
Weird opinion but Games how resembles a dark haired version of one of the old god hand. Could that be why he has such disdain for them?
*Ganeshka
Shiva!!
Looked like godwyns physical body from elden ring. Like how his physical body remains, but his soul is gone
