As someone that used to watch her UA-cam channel, it’s clear everything she stated is false and also hypocritical.
She’s most definitely privileged and has money, not only that the whole selling soul is hypocritical because she was close with Xxxtentacion, who literally has a song about speaking to the devil and selling his soul. She knows what she’s doing, she wants to erase her past and become an artist and this is not the way.

This video has been very helpful in choosing what not to do next about that.
Considering the music itself is a bit sad in nature, I think clarifying that I am not victimizing myself while promoting it, but instead showing my personal feelings of being stoked for music and stuff would be the best route.

On TikTok they’re not really artists if they hate making art when they don’t get payed for it. It’s a hobby that makes money, why are they treating it like a chore?
Like “uh I have to wash dishes/paint/take out garbage/write a song/pour resin into a cast I bought on wish… and no one will even buy it!”

also it’s music, people should listen to it because they enjoy…not to give streams
and musicians should make songs because they enjoy it, not because they want to be famous

Even if her music is amazing, she’s so ungrateful and clearly feels like she deserves success more than everyone else that I could never support her. Especially going after artists like Lil Nas X to make her point about “not selling her soul” lmfao, that’s so cringe regardless of what you think of Lil Nas X.

one of advice i get for an artist, "Create what you love, with the way you loved it, and for the people you loved, if people acknowledge you, then you had touched other peoples heart and be grateful for it, if not... still be grateful because whatever happened you have created something you loved."
don't beg for fame, it won't last, people will lost respect of you and leave you as a beggar. gaining something out of pity rather than from your own creativity

Im only about a minute into the video, but heres like a…fun fact? I guess you could call it that, lol. But anyways ive been making music strictly as a hobby for the better part of like 11 years, i rap, sing, write, whatever. And ive noticed something… A lot of people around me who make music will try and pull off different marketing techniques they see big artists do, thinking itll just work without an already loyal fanbase. For example, i had a dumbass friend who dropped a “surprise album” once. The only downloads it got were the people he had told prior. Ive had friends randomly make songs in a genre they have no business trying and absolutely 0 experience with, just to claim “its like when Lil Wayne did how to love, no one will be expecting this shit.” As if anyone was waiting for his music to begin with. People just lose touch with certain things when they think they’re really about to win.

As a VERY stubborn person to the point if someone asks more than two times for me to do something especially if it's not in a generally decent fashion... I will NEVER listen to someone's music just cuz they're selling a sob story. My favorite music just randomly came into my life or I genuinely sought out good music that I was curious about. Like I BARELY started really listening to the Beatles like a couple years ago. I'll be 30 this year. Lol I've always heard their music and my parents loved them growing up but I wasn't there yet. Now I listen to their songs and I can truly say they're musical geniuses.

This is very informative, and we artists struggle many times because we don't wan't to end up using these methods, but you see so much "scandal" strategies or whatever you want to call it, being used and working for many big hitters in the industry, that its hard to avoid these stupid methods, even our teams suggest we use them.

If her music was good no one would care, they would listen regardless of how they found out or how they feel about her promotional ethics. They would write it off a stunt or joke and then bam, forgiven. Basically, anything goes when you're trying to get seen, artists do whatever it takes and the general population understands that to a certain degree
