In WoW , you'd only get away with that for like 10 minutes. Then the max level players with insane PVP gear will show up, and t he fun is over
@@etherraichu my guild was anti griefers, one of us spots that shit, call would go out and 120 people are suddenly rolling up on your ass. suddenly your the one being camped for days. many people were humbled and learned to behave.
And since when is WoW open world PVP? Lol. Whats stopping me from doing this shit exactly? You can't PVP everywhere in the game so i don't get it?
@@stevenmcsteven6693 after a while they made it auto pvp flag you and get -honor for doing that. Also wow has 3 server type, PVP [always pvp], rp, and normal.
@@awesome27677 man i missed those days. one time me and a friend responded to a guy doing this. 10 of us vs 1 guy or so we thought. turns out it was an ambush group and there was 20 of them waiting. good thing we were hunting them. we had a few of us just sitting around at an area nearby. we called out the ambush and 4 teams just rushed them. i think at one point we had near 120. now its just meh no one likes to do the old way of having fun.

Back in Shadowbane, I had a mage assassin. At one point, a thief attacked our party. They stole some stuff, killed a player, and ran. I went into stealth and followed them. They went straight into town, banked the stolen stuff, and then eventually teamed up with another player to hunt monsters. The moment they were far enough out of town, I popped out, stunlocked them both, and killed them. This was like, 45 minutes later. I didn't get the loot back, but it was worth it. I HATE thieves.
This was Day Z so a very different style of game, but one of our favorite things was to have one person who clearly had a backpack full of stuff running around an area alone, and the rest of the group hiding around with sniper rifles and LOS on him at all times. The bait would be friendly, and actually helpful if people needed it, and we'd leave them be if they behaved. If anyone tried to rob him however, which happened a lot.. BAM! Free loot for the group.
I think we had a noticeable impact, at least on the server we played on, because as time went on whoever our bait was got accosted by robbers less and less. I think people eventually learned that person running around alone and loaded with stuff might just have a sniper strike team watching his back.

Back when I played Warcraft on a RP-PVP server, in the early early days of the game (before the first expansion), there was an alliance zone that had constant horde griefers in it. It was a 15-20th level zone that was close to a horde 30-35th level zone, so they'd come prowling in and gank lowbies all the time.
I'd regularly go out there with my hunter and sit stealthed in a bush, and the moment I'd see a horde rogue pop out and gank someone, I'd drop hunter's mark on them (which prevents re-stealthing). Then this huge angry lion would come zooming out of the bush at them at mach-5 and just disintegrate them.
Every now and then one would hop onto their alliance alt and try and bitch at me, as though me killing a ganker while being max level was some horrible crime in their eyes.
Always made me laugh.

Goddamn. i never go to redRidge mountains because of this reason. now i turn off warmode because honestly i suck at PVP and it's not very fun PVP if a rogue 50 levels above me is ganking me every time i respawn.

@@nicholascarpenter952 Nah, this goes both ways. Horde losers camp Redridge and Ashenvale, Alliance losers camp Barrens and Tarren Mill. Then, it's free for all in Stranglethorn Vale and Tanaris.

Doras in Orgrimmar was all like "Guards!" and then he died and we lost our flightmaster for another half an hour.
I can't count how many times the Stealth noise made me spin around looking everywhere for enemies.
I'm filled with nostalgia and hate for Rogues.

My guess is Greg has moved because the grass is softer to die on and Alan had to fall way too much for the packed dirt around the sod house.

This one and the “I’m just a girl, OMG how do I get gold” video with Britt is two I’ve had it VERY difficulty ‘likening’ because I felt like I’m liking what they stand for - though I tried to simply accept that I’m liking the video for their work, costumes and how life imitates art 🤷♀️
@@charlottet7379 I totally get what you mean. Though I thought of it more as a critique towards the behaviour than a condonement of what was depicted, which made liking it for the message possible as well.
Been there, done that. I used to hunt down rogues because I got trolled so much.
Addition: I play(ed) BDO a fair amount, and a certain popular/unpopular kuno troll would camp world boss spawn areas to AOE the area as soon as the boss died. Anyone too squishy to survive his AOE would be unable to pick up their loot.
After a few days of this happening, Pearl Abyss's new update made it so all world boss spawn areas were essentially safe zones for 30 seconds after the boss died.
Rogues are the worst.

I hate those kind of players!!! I remember one that killed the guy I must follow for a quest... he was there for days and people complained so much that I heard his account was locked by the administrators...
@1Dudelove depend of the MMOs, if it is one with two enemy races or factions they still can kill the quest giver... example WoW, an Orc player can kill a human quest given if it is not located in a neutral city!!!

I remember back in the day hearing that stealth sound effect and shitting your pants then realizing that it's just your teammate Hunter with a cat stealth pet 😅😅😅😅
I had a gnome priest friend, I was his pet druid cat. That stealth sound was the last thing our enemies heard.

A few years back, when I was tired of WoW and played another MMO. Hit that moment where after a long-ass trek through two huge zones, to get to my faction's only place with a banker NPC, I thought I'd finally be able to free up valuable bag space... click the NPC, bank and bags open... a short "FWP"-sound, banker drops, another "FWP" as the high-level thief character vanishes, then several "FWP"-sounds all around and a dozen or so high-level thieves wiped out all the NPC's.
And for whatever reason the game devs designed it to keep NPC's dead for two damned hours as they believed that was the best strategy to make griefers lose interest and not murder them...
Well, it made me lose interest and no longer play that game. And apparently they messed up more stuff because within two years, the by then mostly unpopulated servers shut down for good.
This is why I don't play multi player 😒 I don't want to deal with other people. They are annoying.

Same ! If I play games it's for escaping the world for a few hours. Not to find the same annoying behavioral patterns than IRL. Or if I play multiplayer, it's in coop mode with friends, where everybody shares the same mindset and won't ruin (at least not on purpose) the gaming experience of the others.

In Elder Scrolls Oblivion, they have rings with different abilities. Walk on water or breathe under water. The one I preferred was “Detect life.” The downside was every NPC would be in a cloud of purple so if you tried talking to them while wearing it you couldn’t even see there face. Just an idea. Besides that, keep up the good work. :)

There used to be an NPC that would disappear after completing a quest for... I think18 hours in this one game. He became a singular bottleneck for a LOT of players, especially considering he wasn't instanced, so the same character was used by everyone. IIRC he was also killable... We had these characters called "Agents" which could crit for about 15x their standard crit damage using "Aimed Shot," which they could also shoot from about 100 ft away in game...

Well. Rowan, the shade away guy, is the one who plays the guard so that may have been awkward.
I wanted the annoyed guy to hit the quest giver by mistake.
Or at least expected it.
Accidentally killing a chicken, while swinging wildly, would be funnier since it would guarantee the entire town of npc's would run out to attack in the defense of the chicken 😂

I was honestly expecting him to figure out to stab through the npc when he spawned to get to Rowan, then just wait for the npc to respawn. But this was funnier ill admit.
This made me quite angry, killing a quest giver to troll is worse than sitting ontop/mass gathering round of a quest giver so others cant click it! Bad memories of mmos man, bad memories!

In the games that have transformation items you can use on other players, I keep one or two handy just to deal with the ones that block the NPCs. Turning them into sheep, or dogs, or diminutive ugly guys is worth it.
Also on several MMORPGs, intentionally blocking the NPCs is against the rules. I've seen people get banned by the GMs for that.

Or, just go to their house irl and ignite something. That might be a tad exessive, tho.
Lol I would go the extra mile and keep escort NPC's sapped for ages first. Sometimes letting then continue on for a bit making it seem like I was long gone, and then suddenly *_SAP_* again. Only killing them in the final moments of the quest. I swear this guy is like my spirit animal hahaha. x'D

I tried MMO's back in my single-digits and realized that I don't like them. I've stayed away from them ever since.
This is one of the many reasons.
Griefers hanging out where new players spawn is one of my top reasons.
That along with I hate playing games with others. It's not being anti social as it sounds. I just get in my own head worrying about getting in the way, carrying my weight, and if I'm doing too much and killing the fun for others all at the same time.
The last time I played with others was a farming game and got told I could get a backpack, only to have them buy one and spend the rest on seeds for them alone to plant. I got ignored all the time, they only paid attention to my spouse. Decided it wasn't worth getting upset about and never tried again.
I don't think they meant to, but ngl it stung.
I remember experiencing this quite a few times. The memories still haunt me.
The quest giver respawns right? No worries of him dying off. Wait until he respawns, approach to start dialogue and run him through yourself. The chances are that Rowan will spawn behind him to troll you again and you'll impale him in the process... Catch him off guard.

I recall one guy doing this to a limited event quest giver. We couldn't kill the guy killing the quest giver, so we called over a friend who had 30 lvls more than ours, so he came disguised as a low lvl character and since the game didn't display it, it could only be noticed by the gear you used, so the guy came looking like a noob, changed his shown name and when the NPC killer spawned to kill the quest giver again, he KOd the guy on one strike with no upgraded weapons, lol

Although the watching high lvl horde players roll into crossroads and stomp alliance faces was great to watch.......guess the same could be said for southshore and westfall for alliance

That is a thing of the past in wow these days. Going into any enemy faction town results in max lvl elite guards with 1 million or more health to start spawning and cause you grief.

Thankfully griefers like this are perma-banned.
I remember one instance where it must have been at least 15 other Alliance players and I all waiting for this one questgiver in Westfall to respawn after an Undead Rogue kept killing him. It was probably only 10 minutes of respawn-die-respawn-die-respawn but it felt like forever. And I’m only on a medium-populated server.
Honestly this just made me feel bad for the guy, to Hell with griefers.
I'll be happy to design a custom level of hell, just for griefers and gankers. A design that even Satan himself would look at, wince, and say, "Uh, Rick? Are you taking this just a bit too seriously? A game is just a game and hell is, like, forever..."

Only works if the NPCs are actually atackable though and the settlements doesn´t have ridiculous high powered elite guards with stealth detect auras that cover the whole area.
