If only they could have worked through their differences and worked on another album; live they were incredible (I had the good fortune of seeing them at their last show in Phoenix, AZ). There was an MTV blurb at the time that they were planning on recording in Holland (Wisseloord?) after the tour ended with Alan Parsons producing; but since they used up all their advance on production - and the usual personal friction - nothing came of it. Does anyone know if the rumored MTV concert in the archives is fact or based on (hopeful) rumor.

You have 3 people pointing this out and other ELPowell fans were contacted offsite and confirmed the same. Believe there are fans that may have better notes of recorded history.
Are you sure you have the right city and venue. In 1986 the only ELPowell performances in Massachusetts (even if we take tour dates that were cancelled) are Mansfield on September 16, 1986 and Boston on October 14, 1986. This is clearly Madison Square Garden, New York City from September 20, 1986. Everything about the performance matches up with the documentation from the Garden show including missing Introductory Fanfare and the first couple of minutes of the Score and Greg's and Keith's stage banter.
@@allen-rp3gm It is Madison Square Garden, I have been archiving ELP material for decades. I have the exact notes from the New York show and it is the same. The stage chatter exact. I also asked another two ELP archivists and they agreed. Here are my notes from the 1980's and if you watch the video it matches. Remember, audio surfaced soon after the gig in 1986. You can't dispute facts. 1 The Score > Crowd Noise > Greg welcome the audience > Keith says "Welcome back my friends, Greg says to the show that never ends" > Crowd Noise Missing Introductory Fanfare (Opening notes of "Fanfare For The Common Man") > The Score (First three minutes missing) 2 Learning To Fly > 3 Pirates > Crowd Noise > Greg and Keith thank the crowd > Keith asks the audience if they want to hear more old stuff and states this is for all the ELP Veterans out there > Keith gives the title to the next song

@@craigfenton4275 Are you sure that the audio that surfaced is a different source? That would prove something. If the audio that surfaced is sourced from my video than it was probably incorrect from the start. I mostly filmed at MSG, Dietmar may have gotten that mixed up to begin with?
Could you please give us the proper info (month, date, real venue) on the Emerson, Lake, & Powell Upload? They did not have the city of Worcester on the tour itinerary. Often if links are posted (or I would show you all the gigs performed) here the comment does not show. Thank you for the hopeful proper info.

It is a clone of the MSG recording. Take it from folks that have been documenting ELP performances since the 70's. Once again, where did you get Worcester from? they never appeared there even for a photo. Your original box had Madison Square Garden. It is, it is, it is. Please believe the box!
