I'm so pissed with the Lodge of Sorceresses. What they want was ultimately no different than what Vilgeforts and Emhyr wanted. Power. Control over the Son Ciri is supposed to have. Somehow I don't understand what part of the prophecy says that it will be Ciris son who will rule half the world and her son's son who will rule all of it? It just says that a new world will be reborn in the elder blood. The Lodge tries to act like they're a good organization, but their motto is basically "if someone must rule, better be us". I think they stake a lot of their "we're different" on the fact that they want to make Ciri a full member of the lodge, possibly even its leader, once she's proved herself. That bullshit
The Lodge is just another master wanting to put a leash on everything and everyone, they lie to themselves of the "We're good and better than men, sisters 💅🏻💅🏻" but they are exactly the same.
After that ending the possibilities are endless! Pretty good. Favorite part… Ciri beating her nemesis (no spoiler) and having to use the skills she learned while training at Kai Morin. Solid

Pretty good series, didn’t have a great editor though. This should have been a 3 book series not 5. Fantasy authors have a tendency to want to flesh out every little morsel of their idea in their imaginations. It’s often a detriment, & very much so here. Several characters & prolonged portions of events & storytelling wildly uninteresting & nothing to do with the main characters and they do nothing to advance the main narrative. Time of Contempt & Tower of Swallow could of been scrapped completely & the main plot lines through those books added throughout the other three while cutting large sections of the unnecessary arcs & characters that don’t serve a valuable purpose across the entire main story line.

I couldn't agree less. I would have happily read another 5 books.
Love this series but there's definitely quite a few pages that do feel pointless and amount to nothing in the end.
If you don't enjoy a lot of details do not read high fantasy 🤷🏼♀️
