I recently got 2 of the chase pieces from two of the recent sets. The chrome primitive one does have a much smoother curve, its like a real board without that sharp concave line of the normal techdecks. The other was the lenticular changing design, red with a lucky cat, which had basically no concave at all, almost completely flat. It's really unique in shape and I believe it's the only board they've ever released in red plastic.
the jamie foy big boy foy deck actually doesnt have the annoying concave shape on the bottom (he doesnt really have concave on his boards) but looking at it through the packaging it looks like they still have it on the top
Imo I just dont think the performance series gives you better pop and I got one but the wood was really weak and chipped very easily. It ended up getting the nose flat so i just said its useless so I snapped the nose off. But it looks a little cool now
Funny, builded in the last days a nearly same edc fingerboard but with the plan green blind reaper Tech Deck, i put riptape, some cheap ASI-Shop bearing wheels on it and changed the baseplate of the trucks against the base of the 29mm tech deck trucks to lower the king pin… With that changes I think even the rubber bushings of the standard Tech Decks works well enough for an edc… And I wouldn’t recommend the Teck Deck performance boards, they are just a waste of money, the trucks are exactly the same like on the normal Tech Decks, the deck is terrible produced (even cheaper then the bollie decks or the f…ing 5€ ASI-Shop decks) and the geometry is like on the original tech decks from the end of the nineties, it’s nearly not existing… The only thing that’s kind of better are the wheels with the rubber coating but for me they are just too grippy and they roll like shit… So for beginners I would more recommend just the 5€ Plastik tech deck, some cheap bearing wheels (Spitboard or ASI-Shop wheels) and riptape, that’s all and more then enough to try it out… And if it should be even cheaper then just buy the tech deck and a sheet of riptape, that are around 10€ for the start and you can allready do some stuff… Or if you are able to spend some more the ASI-shop complete came allready with a good wooden deck, their shop trucks, their shop wheels, foamgrip a spare nut, screw and a tool for just 25€… So it cost mostly the same like the performance series but with way better parts on it and way better quality, really everything is better on it, way better deck, better trucks, better wheels and even better tape… Another option would be the bollie small logo complete, that goes normaly for under 20€ and is on a very nice level too, wooden deck with nice shapes, tech deck trucks, bearing wheels and foam tape, it’s not on the level like the ASI complete but it’s still nice to start… A last solution could maybe be a spitboard complete for something between 20-25€ but this I haven’t test till now but when they are so good like their wheels then it’s maybe even the best for the money… I tried their swirl wheels and they are just too good for this pricetag, ride them since a couple of days and so far they are the best wheels I tried, even after a couple of hard shreds they show nothing mentionable, every other wheelset (bollie, tech deck, ASI and this spitboard) I trashed in just 1-2 days but this still show nothing on wear in this time… So before you just go out and buy a tech deck just to recognize that you will need more pretty fast, think again about what you will do, if your completely unsure and just want a fidget toy then a Tech deck is allready enough even how it is but if you are really interested in this hobby then maybe it’s worth to invest some more in it like the named alternatives… AND, I don’t think that it is worth it to invest directly in a pro setup cause this starts at 100€ and more, so it’s maybe a bit too much just to find out if this is a hobby for you or not and at the start when you lern to do tricks you often can not control this and just trash your expensive board…

Where did you get the bam fingerboard I’ve been looking for one like that for about ever now?
i have one of the dgk limited edition ones and there is no concave at all it’s flat

what do u think of aliexpress tape and decks?
Did you use 32mm or 34mm China's as the replacements? Just curious what fits the new tech decks best
32!
