Gabriel High Roller Traveler mode 😎
You do such a great job explaining everything! I love the details. That was so very kind of you to give that young man a tip. Tx for taking me along. I've never been to the Philippines.
Nice video. I'm looking forward to the next vídeos also. Continue your great work 👍
Most 5 Star hotels look like airport lounges to me. Supposedly luxurious but completely lacking in charm. I would much rather spend $50 per night and stay in somewhere basic but charming - especially if it's locally owned and not some corporate multinational sucking money out of the country and into the pockets of multi-millionaires!
It's obscene that locals charge 85 cents US for a motorbike ride, while guests pay $350 per night to stay in a palace. The wealth inequality is shocking! These hotels exemplify all that is wrong with the modern world. Keep true to yourself Gabe, stay real. Looking forward to a proper taste of paradise in your next videos!
I hear you 100 and 10,000 percent and I have never left the states
Everywhere it's like that. In Las Vegas people are gambling thousands of dollars while others are homeless and have nothing.
All the green grass and trees. Waiting on spring takes forever
Filipino people are so chill
That hotel is beautiful. Putting it on my radars.
Welcome to the Philippines. Prepare to be underwhelmed 🇵🇭
Lord, what rocks your boat?
LOL. 😂
It has beautiful natural beauty and almost zero infrastructure. Just wait until they tell you “sorry sir, out of stock “. Customer service is almost non existent. Every other white guy is a vlogger.
Taylor, I like it. Sorry you don't, but who cares
Really enjoyed the swimming in the pool segment with the colorful tile floor. It felt like being there with the water 💦 💧 sounds while you swam.
Great. Thanks for sharing
Why not Gabe, everyone deserves to spoil themselves once in a while ❤
Philippines is one of the best countries in the world. The nature is amazing and there are the nicest people you will ever meet. My grandfather never wanted to leave there even though he was stationed there in WW2 and I know why lol. Love watching any travel vloggers in the Philippines
Thanks for view of Shangri La.
A lot of westerners come to those resorts for the pool and private beach because it's cheap otherwise they'd go to Hawaii or the Mediterranean. Unlike you Gabriel they are probably not too interested in the local lifestyle or anything unpredictable. You live a 5 star life Sir.
I agree ! Well deserved 5 star life !
Bro you deserve the five star lifestyle. Def not an imposter.
Looking good Gabriel !! Cheers
Shangri La Hotel is huge and very fancy. 👌
15:43 "Nugagawen" is an abbreviated or shortened slang term of "Anong Gagawin?", which means "What to do?" or "What are we gonna do?". In the context of the beer ad, it probably means "What now? Are we gonna drink, party or what?" I dunno if that makes any sense?
Very nice, Gabriel 😊❤☀️🌊😎
NICE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD THIS ONE! NO CHEAP SKATE!😂
Thanks for sharing that part of the world!
See you in SURIGAO !!! luv vid !! ❤❤❤
Just high rolling as usual. Good job 👍.
Those prawns look awesome
Thanks for sharing!
Good vid Gabriel. Hopefully you crack it
Thanks Gabriel 🙂💙👍
I hope you made a lot of Phil vids bro they're good so far
Great video
Cool enjoy
Nice hotel. Still preferred to Banff spring 🇨🇦
Perfect timing! My episode of the sopranos just ended.
Sopranos is so good. I might have to watch it again….
Very lovely hotel with 5 star facilities. However poorer people are nor necessarily bad people. In my experience, poorer have the better human quality.
I do not experience traveler imposter syndrome for some reason. I have stayed at high dollar places a few times somehow, (good deals or a client's gift or whatever), and felt zero mis-fitting.....even though it was above my means. I like the more rugged surf town and less polished, more my speed, but the high end places always seem quieter, cleaner, smell better, and easier access to pure water, sometimes with filtration systems in room. Hard to beat that.
Wowwww
Day Pass, all the way!!
Bohol, which is only a 2 hour fast ferry ride away would've been a good option for you. The Chocolate Hills, and the Tarsier, a small huge eyed animsl native to The Philippines is there. There are also some nice beaches to visit. Do some research. It may appeal to you. Worth a visit, especially if you intend to leave the country from Cebu.
Hi Gabriel, this was a fascinating trip to the 5-star hotel. It's probably customary for the hotel to enter and use the beach pool and other facilities as another way to promote itself to potential customers. This practice should be regarded around the world. It does have a feel like India, where it's moving from being a third-world country to being heavily invested in and becoming a global power.
Remember when you used to sleep at night with a backpack on. bridge in Paris? Now you’re staying in 5 star luxury hotels.. Gabrial did you win the lottery?
I couldn't afford to stay the night at that place, but yeah I did win the lottery sort of, got the coolest job in the world.
@ amen to that brother.. Oh ye I forgot.. you got robbed in Paris..they stole your backpack..🎒 at least the luxury hotels 🏨 has plenty of security 👍peace ✌🏻out brother thanx 4 the reply
9:49 'Walking through the slums to get here'. Gabriel, you've spent years in India - you should be used to it.
But, at your age, you shouldn't have to slum it anymore. If you can't have a splurge every so often, what's the point?
350to 800 in thailand thats outrages and this place don't look like luxury mid at best
😊❤🇧🇦🗻🏔⛰
😎😎😎
Don’t be surprise of all the foreigners in siargao. It’s like your in a foreign country within a foreign country if that make sense. Ingat Gab…
Thea area where you are staying now they speak Bisaya. Tagalog is spoken more on the north. Manila area and around.
I see, thanks for letting me know.
Been looking forward to seeing you in the Philippines. Are you going to check out Dumagette.and Negros Oriental? Safe travels Gabe. 🍻
He's going to Ground Zero for the boxing!😂
@@cypruscats8450 Did they get any new boxers yet since the old ones died?
@@skoester14 Yes! Son Rogan is practicing as we speak!
Cheers is "TAGAY" in tagalog
Nugagawen is "Whats up" or Whats happening ? 👍
Question: You leave your back pack on the beach while you’re in the water. Aren’t you concerned about being robbed?
Gabriel keeps an eye on the backpack.
You were very lucky to get fried eggs properly cooked like that (opening scenes) in the Philippines as they are usually murdered.
Never liked these kind of places. The same shit all over the world.😏
Back in 1996 I was friends with a doctor who lived close to that hotel. He was able to take us to the beach there i think for free.
The temperature is 60 to 85 all 12 months in Medellin, Colombia. I like swimming in some of the 10 pools at Estadio Olympic complex
Pablo Escobar ?
👍
Are you considering Guam? Lots of Filipino culture there too as many are there under H2B visa program. United still has their Island Hopper that visits smaller islands in Micronesia. Charles Phan of Slanted Door fame lived on Guam for two years after fleeing Vietnam as his mom opted not to take refugee resettlement in Michigan. His former spot at the Ferry Building is still empty, and it’s too bad he’s no longer around to guide next generation of chefs.
@1:02 $10 USA DOLLARS for that breakfast? Way better deal times a million versus some rocky mountain ski resort $20 for a hot dog and a carton of milk
Can’t resist without rereading other comments “$Gabriel High Roller Style “ Including boots 🥗🥑🥛
😁👍
Hello Gabriel,
Nice ro see you in this 5 star hotel..swimming pool and beach..
You really deserve it...
Huge contrast with the surroundings which is pretty shocking , same for the prices...for the average population...living there.
As for you, I admire your well deserved 5 star life, enjoy and stay safe
Thanks for sharing !
Shocking? You obviously don't get out much
🎲 HIGH ROLLER 🎲
Living large when the cost is small
Gabriel - LOL, you, as a successful internet mogul, should be staying at 5 star in addition to merely using the pool; at 53, I would think that the charm of box-like rooms and hostels has hopefully long since faded.
I ain't making $500 a night kinda money here on UA-cam. But you can see my room in this video, it's a pretty nice apartment for $50: ua-cam.com/video/0sc_0ycgiXM/v-deo.html
Gabe - Thanks for the response and for making so many interesting vids. The Philippines is a terrific place to explore and i am looking forward to forthcoming videos. I know it is very touristic but Boracay is a beautiful and fun island. It might make a nice last stop in the country before you move on to your next locale. BTW: If that is to be Taiwan (I just returned from there), good for you.
Yep, Taiwan next, flight already booked, looking forward to it.
You mentioned you are flying to Kaoshiung in southern Taiwan. This is both interesting in itself and also a useful gateway to the beaches of far south Kenting and the fabulous mid-island mountains of Alishan.
I bet you need it with all that flying and all those timezones. I don't know how you cope with it.
You'll like Siargao island. Mactan was not my scene. It's too commercial, too sterile.
How do you keep a six-pack on the road?
Most of the Pilipinos towns and cities look like slums of Gaza. This beautiful resort is no way representative of what you see in many parts of the country. But there are many nice resorts in the country
Excuse me! Gaza looks like the toilets of some Philipines cities.
Got a Pixel 8a?
Yep, that's it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosGot mine a couple of weeks ago, good size and performance.
Back to my $50.00 room 👍😂 from Atlanta
Should of stayed near Ayala Mall in Cebu City. Much more interesting and you would get a more realistic and genuine feel of the city. Mactan island has no charm and is designed as a tourist attraction with man made beaches imo
@GabrielTraveler When in Cebu ypu need to travel South or North for the type of travel you do.
Siargao, Dumaguete, Palawan, Iloilo (visit Guimaras Island), Vigan, & LA Union is your kind of scene.
Happy Travels!😊
“Why are you not married? Where is your wife? You’re alone?”
You must be new here
This place is so dead
Good
Cause people think on this island is only the airport
@@mohamedalkaboomlike the dead slums of Gaza, huh?
It's pronounced SEE-BOO not SAY-BOO!
It's pronounced Say boo
First
Got it. 🍺
I’m still not impressed so far , it doesn’t look 5 star
Radford, do we care if you're impressed or not? 😂
@ well you do, I’m giving a polite opinion , don’t try and act hard in front of a computer screen typing or phone
what a nightmare... Cebu is a waste
So is your country where you come from.
