Everyone is running EGR coolers on gassers. Ford has been doing this for years... It's for fuel economy (knock suppression at load) not emissions and they're not going away "with better technology". Gasoline coolers are much more reliable than diesel, since they don't thermal cycle as much.

@@neorabado8990 Recently had a P0402 code in my '19 Ranger. Having heard that the valve can get mucky from the gases, and that the valve is the most likely reason for the P0402 code, I had my shop clean the valve. Engine light was off for three days and now I have the same P0402 code. What's next? Oh and I leave in the morning to pull our pop-up camper from Minneapolis to Glacier NP. Am I destine to damage the engine is some way?

Catch can's are great if you live in the south. They can cause destruction if you live in the northern part of the country where below zero temps are normal. Those catch cans end up completely full of moisture and freeze into a block of ice, blocking your PCV line and potentially overpressurizing your crankcase and blowing out your main seal

Nico Five’0 a $400 tuner makes the same power to the wheels on a 2.3 that the 2.7 makes at the crank and the 2.3 is lighter. Remember it's a detuned Focus RS engine with a bigger turbo and intercooler. 325hp and 400 torque at the wheels in a 4300lb truck is more fun than you think.

Guys be careful the capo mech at my shop who has been a mech for more than 30 years called a head gasket on this then when it still smoked he said the head was cracked or something, after the head came of twice I checked it, the pistons were dirty with carbon the valves were dirty , when u have a blown head gasket the valves n such are usually clean from the steam n water. I looked at the head n saw the gaskets put one n two together I asked does this have a egr cooler ? Yup I took it and filled the water channels and low and behold water leaked out the exhaust sides I can even blow thru it by my mouth n u can hear it BUT !!! This only leaks one way not both. So this just proves don’t always go for the easy answer n don’t be afraid to dig n that bs can get the best of all of us

Waaaaay too much crap the second or third owner is going to find impossible to fix. There is no arguing the output of these engines but the gas mileage is reportedly crap and pollution control gains are so minute they can only be measured with lab equipment. Just off the top of my head here are my engine efficiency experiences: Cutlass V8 14-15 MPG, CJ5 V8 13-14 MPG, Ranger V6 15-19 MPG, F150 13-15 MPG, Ford Flex V6 17 MPG, F350 460 V8 9-10 MPG. Scratch out the 460 big block and it makes me wonder why all of the tech if they aren't making 30 MPG.

C6 Auto, no computers, pretty much bomb proof. I think I changed the dura spark module out 3 times over the 145k we put on it and that took all of 5 minutes.
