    Did mine today and noticed power gain with reduced turbo lag, almost non existent.

      @@richardfranklin1495 I have blanked off the EGR between the cooler and the valve. So essentially no gases pass through the valve.
      The bottom end where the removed pipe attached is just open.
      I suppose one can make a plate "using the old gasket removed there as a template" to close it off, but do not see a need.

      @@daniellouw9798 Been good hey. Noticable gains, no turbo lag. Worth it mate. Felt it more driving from JHB to DBN through the farms in Standerton, then back on the N3, felt like was driving a sedan lol!

    I blocked my 2013 Ranger manual egr when it was all but new and cut off the inlet pipe and there was a noticeable improvement to both bottom and top ends of the rev range.

    Just did the egr blanking plate. Also removed the egr pipe and closed the manifold. All I did was cut the pipe where it enters the plastic section of the manifold, removed it, welded the plate closed and reinstalled.

    Do you need bypass hoses doing this mod or can you just take out steel pipe and and block it with plate. Do gas from valve just go out in atmosphere is that correct

      If you take out the EGR steel pipe you need 2x blanking plates. The blanking plate between EGR and Cooler and then the plate on the 90 degree plastic pipe shown in the video. Personally I would blank off between the exhaust header and cooler as well.

      @@G_MAN_325 I assume that you prefer doing the exhaust blank to prevent the risk of the "radiator pipes" rusting and leaking water into the intake manifold? Is there another reason?

      @@Groot_G It is best to block before and after the EGR cooler as it is prone to failure. 2 scenarios: 1. Coolant goes out of exhaust 2. Coolant goes into combustion chamber.

    Should you remove the whole egr system as well as the pipe?

      Cheapest to just blank off between EGR and cooler and exhaust header and cooler. For removal and blanking off its more time consuming, need other blank off plates and hoses for re routing coolant.

    Squire. What happens if you blank both sides of the braided pipe off? In other words, after the EGR valve instead of in front of it. Will it have the same practical effect? Perhaps it it easier to fit the blanking plate before the valve instead of after it.

    if you have the bottom plate installed what if you were to cut off the metal part that is going into the intake and causing the restriction?

      I’m in the process of doing this now. I didn’t feel comfortable cutting it off completely. I have it blanked in two spots already. There is no harm is having it pushed over to the side right?

    I have a pre dpf 2016 Ford Ranger PX2 does the bypass work the same as a px1 or different? Just wanna know before I start removing the egr from the truck

    by bocking egr from entering the engine cilynders, those will run hotter,,so engine coolant gets that much hotter? how hotter went your coolant temps??

    Do you have to have the plug connected with this thing spinning in no man's land to avoid code? I've never been able to work out how to get rid of it. Id like to piss it off instead of cable tieing it but not sure how. My car was tuned to have egr delete but the egr cooler still killed my first motor.

      i just left it as is, you could blank it with the same plate

      If you've blanked the exhaust manifold side, then nothing will flow through, and around. So it's *just there*. I suppose if you left it open nothing will happen, if you go through a water crossing it'll probably fill with water, but that won't cause any damage. Like old mate said, you could block it off if you really want to, or just leave it.

      @@aydantaylor7074 I would blank both sides if the coolant hoses was not rerouted. If the EGR cooler cracks, coolant will then escape out the open end.

      @gman9552 coolant won't escape if it cracks if you've re routed the cooler hose to completely bypass the egr cooler. I've blocked both and rerouted the hoses, now it's just "there" to look pretty.

    Hi im new here. Got a 2016 3.2 auto. Why do you blank the egr system? Does it really more beneficial than the original system? At what percentage? (Estimate only). I cant decide whether to blank or keep the original system. Thanks for replying. Im fr Philippines 😊

    Notice if your MAP is going into vacuum now? 2016 on Ranger closes the throttle body to induce EGR flow. Without the available flow, manifold pressure goes negative and exhaust temps rise due to low airflow

      your EGR closes at anything above 30% throttle

      Yeah ok temps. Mine were 400+ when the MAP went negative. Just out of interest, is your MAP doing the same?

      He had the EGR blanked previously. So the blanking done in this video, to the intake, was an addition blanking plate. This one was done to remove where the EGR would normally come out, causing a 40% reduction of airflow.

      They go out the exhaust, only some of the gasses are recycled to to the intake manifold via the EGR valve. If the valve is no longer opening, it all goes out the spout.

    If you take out the 13mm bolt that holds the egr tube and remove the 3 10 mm bolts that hold it on the manifold can you put the blanking plate in without undoing the manifold bolts ?

      I believe so. Rather unsettle the EGR cooler than cause an exhaust air leak...

    My EGR valve has stuck shut and the vehicle has gone into limp mode. Do I need to remove and clean the EGR valve or can I do this mod and disconnect it or use a delete cable? Looks like a lot of work getting it off. And I'm lazy lol

      pop off the black plastic valve that has the plug going to it and spray some brake cleaner down it, free it up using a flat screwdriver, would take 15 minutes, watch my "common fault codes causing limp mode" vid to know what im talking about.

      @@abdautomotive Thanks mate, did that, had to buy a T27 Tork Tee handle to get the inside rear screw (Socket wouldn't fit between the stepper motor body and the inlet manifold), lifted it off, got the plunger moving again, all fixed now. Cheers 👍

    Bro I have one question. I over 2014 Ford Ranger as well? Driving the other day on the highway and the oil just exploded . White smoke clean straight from the exhaust pipe and oil dripping all over the highway. Wood u know what this is cause by

      @@abdautomotive Yeah, I was driving at last night and oil.Just spat out every way on a freewand then just went to lock phowe'd.Like full acceleration with bull or smoke cleaning up.Put a scanner on up this morning and no codes popped up

      @@martinballangarry2679 yeh diesel runaway, sounds like the oil seals went in the turbo and started burning the oil hence the acceleration

      Not on px1. On px2 I am not sure. Px3 models the plate has a hole so you still need the EGR pipe.

    just to confirm the egr valve still works as normal and can cause limp mode when malfunctions? Have you heard of the cable bypass? Are they worth looking into?

    Can the factory egr bit that goes into the intake be just cut off so it still looks factory ? And do u leave the egr plugged in ?? Maybe it could be your next handy experiment

      yeh u can cut it off, yes it stay plugged in otherwise you'll get a fault

    I'm not trying to create controversy - just sharing for informational purposes because I am very interested in this topic. I have cleaned out my EGR system in the past (2013 BT-50 with over 300,000km), and your vids helped me immensely, thanks for all you share, love this channel.
