Hello! A fellow top 0.1% tank here that got title on blood dk before. Blood DK is a great tank to learn tanking as its very black and white on how it’s played. Figuring out mistakes on BDK is super easy as ur immediately punished for not doing the right term of play and it teaches good habits that can be placed into other tanks. The weakest part of any tank is the start of the pull, and this is especially true for BDK. Ensure you have some form of damage reduction/shielding defensive running at the start of any pull, otherwise u can fall over on a pull immediately. All other knowledge will come overtime. Hopefully you enjoy the tank grind :).
I love how nearly every pull he says “I’m dead” but proceeds to slay ass like crazy 😂💀💀 That’s really how it be tanking though, those initial thoughts of death on pull hit so hard 😂😂😂
Ara-Kara, the slow adds don’t affect DK since they can’t be slowed less than 70% movement speed. Glad you’re taking this plunge so you can see how crazy a lot of the tank damage is right now.
This is a great series mate. I did dragonflight as DPS, swapping between DPS and tank as my guild needs. Your thoughts are real haha. I hate when I’m open mic because I occasionally get scared.
It's nice to see DPS trying a tank noticing that you can't just pull million packs of mobs and just easily survive. Some DPS seem to think that you can just easily do it. Not saying Vesperal thinks it. But loads of DPS in pugs seem to do so. Tanks can pull big and survive but that requires experience.
Sound to me like a skill issue on your end xD 562 with a halfway decent healer is more than enough for 2-3 keys you just gotta use a littlebit of Brain and understand your Class :)
Are you planning to play San'layn? Heard you mention wanting more haste at the end of the video, but deathbringer only wants around 5% or a little more haste, very little value beyond that point. San'layn is a haste fiend though
That was pre 11.0.5, in most recent patch, since nerfs kinda bombed procs, it has shifted haste value for the build to be more even with other stats. Haste is still slightly worse than Crit, Mast and Vers but the whole 5% thing isn't true anymore.
The number of times he said "I'm dead" and, in fact, did not die, is so typical of the bdk experience (At least from what I have heard. Leveling my bdk now so I can have a tank alt for when I am tired of my bear tank)
Tanking just feels rough in TWW, I hope some good changes are made in the coming season. I will say though Prot War has been really great for me personally and some of my other friends.
Biggest thing ive seen so far is that your vamp blood is not necessarily a cooldown as much as it is a 1 minute ability that should ALWAYS be on cooldown
It applies to any defensive. The optimal way to play a tank is always having all your defensives on cooldown. If your wall is off cd for half the dungeon, you are not pulling as efficiently as you should and slowing yourself down.
@@ОгрЗугорIn new to BDK tanking and this comment was interesting because I always though I should keep some defensives in reserve for “just in case” moments?
you should try this on prot warrior. its the most noob friendly tank as you can just reflect any magical busters it make some dungeons a complete joke this dungeon pool quite frankly. its gonna get real tricky to survive in 11 and 12s if you plan on going that far but you'll breeze until then. was funny seeing blood dk though only tank i havent touched this season, just isnt tanky enough.
@ I mean they are fine in lower keys but I am 3k io and they aren’t good in these 12-17 keys. Still playable but every other tank is just better. There’s been maybe one blood dk in the top 200 tanks the entire season.
Imagine you picked Brewmaster instead! Brewmaster is my last tank to clear all on a 10 and tbh. YOU GET FKN DECLINED for 8s n stuff at 625ilvl and Main Rio of 3k just because Meta Chasers gonna Meta Chase
Vesp, please remeber this video the next time you complain about a tank not pulling big. There are many reasons why they wouldnt. Defensives down, tank busters in the groups, ect. You also need to keep your defensives on cd the whole dungeon.
Btw as a bdk i think you can you can use your slappy hands to get some boneshield stacks before the 1st pull. at least that was in df dont know if its still keeps the stacks
Dps think tanking is so easy lol or they talk shit like it is when you die. I used to be one of those guys now all I do is tank. There is way more ti it than meets the eye. Death knight was the absolute worst choice for your first time tanking. Need to play guardian or warrior they are considerably easier. Vengeance is out of the question for new tanks lol unless you want to just get frustrated AF.
Every season I played tank I pushed higher rio and had an easier time playing overall. Thinking bdk is a hard spec to play is delusional too. The only halfway challenging tank to play is monk, the rest are all equally simple in terms of gameplay.
Might be wrong and I've only watched up to 8:46 so far so you might do something different in the next 15 minutes of the video, but jumping straight into M+ seems a bit... misguided. Like, buy the renown stuff you can buy, do the WQs that give you gear, get blue BoEs for the missing slots, which might cost you a bit, but... eh, it's just gold. Then, jump into Delves, farm 8s as much as you can until every slot is 603, upgrade shit to 606, THEN jump into M+, get a +2 key, get it up to +7, spam 7s for Hero Track stuff and upgrade to 619, then farm +8s for Mythic crests and when everything's upgraded, get 10s done. This is not the fastest way to do it, but... getting delves done with that shitty-ish gear as a BDK is easy, you can knock it out while watching tv shows or youtube videos on the other monitor. That gear then allows you to have a much easier time getting to relevant keys. +7s at 603-606-ish probably aren't exactly easy as hell either but spamming stuff for gear and crests allows you to really learn what's happening and get comfortable pulling/tanking stuff. With that said, this approach, while it kinda makes sense for someone who's just playing the game, isn't the best when you're trying to make content out of it because it's boring and repetitive to watch. It's probably much more fun and exciting to watch you try and tank stuff while 20+ iLvl behind what the dungeon drops in the first place. Pushing the limit of what you can do with your gear instead of grinding things to pick up the free gear and upgrade it before pushing probably also makes sure that you will get to your goal faster, which will make this series not only more fun to watch, but shorter as well. So, yeah, I get why you seem to be doing it like this. Still if you're using WuE stuff, it's not a Zero to Hero (simulating a fresh account as much as possible) series in the strictest sense, so you might as well give yourself as much of an early boost as you can, no? Any BoEs and anything else you can buy is probably a good idea. Honestly, if you spammed dungeons a lot and learned stuff on the way, you could turn those discoveries into separate videos where you talk about things you discovered in this or that dungeon that might be useful to someone else, no?
@@DoubleMeatpalace Yeah, that was the entire point of the first half of the second paragraph. Like, I get why people doing this do it like that. You COULD make a 30-second intro with a bunch of fast-forwarded footage and a voiceover intro, and turn it into a joke by making it similar to the Star Wars thing or something. Like, "A few days ago, in a bedroom possibly not that far away, a plucky UA-camr made a Level 80 Death Knight. Because he hated his life, the UA-camr spent a week farming 4 Bountiful Delves every day until it started getting harder and harder to justify living anymore. But now, with a bunch of 606 items in hand, he's now ready to step up and get on his way to becoming a Keystone Hero. This journey will be full of strife and peril that will start in a key more formidable than any challenge he's faced before, +2 Necrotic Wake..." You don't have to show everything, creative shortcuts aren't forbidden, as long as you say what you did, are they? :D
its super impressive how little vesp learned from being a dps about the dungeon mechanics haha
Not really, DPS don't learn dungeon mechanics. spend half their time on wow staring at the DPS meters.

Very excited for this. Came back into wow for tww and never tanked or done keys until now with my bdk. Love to see how you do it.
i do it badly LOL

"How does it go so wrong so quickly?!" - Welcome to the tanking world my friend xD
New tanks favourite catch phase before every pull "I'm deeead?"
‘How does it all go so wrong so quickly?!’ - early patch Paladin key phrases 😂
Playing this zoomed in stresses the hell out of me
Dang, vesp just like me fr. I also say "oh god" "holyyyy" and "im dead" throughout the dungeon 😂😂😂

So nice of you to release a new series, while some of us S4 legends still are waiting for the 3k with every druid-spec series 😅
not gona ever time i see you play feels like im winning a peace of loot or im right there with you when you are panicing , videos are fun keep it up
very impressive at teh ilvl you are doing them keystones, or is it im just crap .. this is going to be a great series. cant wait. great content
Hey I'm doing the exact same thing atm lol. Good luck. Timed a 6 today. Had the character for 2 days. Cleared 7/8 heroic and all of normal and 5 keys.

Does anyone know what addon or setting is making the ground effects dark purple?
i feel like your druid not being called Vespferal is a missed opportunity
bald man finally gets to see my pov every key LETSGO xdd

Doing this now on my Druid at 1791 io so far been rough and not getting much gear from keys but imma keep chugging along 😂
Did you decide to not get the 580 warbound gear that you can with undercoins or did you forget?
Was thinking the same. And maybe Vesp is not a Dvelver and his hasn't reached the needed lvl/progress
aint no way this isnt a set up run...I am 609 and get declined in M4 and 5's as DPS
NONONO, get 15 weathered crests and get them enchanted, craft some blue quality gear at 590 ilvl for like 3k gold and no spark

You cant outplay the dung when you are the one eating all the damage. You have to have health and armor or youre dead.
chat, chat, chat, chat...ha-ha-ha soooo funn-e...
Gb is hard because of all the magic abilities and casts..... Which DK negates all of with good cd rotation
pssst ... spec san'lyan
like 20 item lvl's too low lol
Not for a dk 😀
these poor healers
take a shot everytime he says "im d3d"
Vesp, I love you but my lord it hurst the soul seeing you go "why am I dead????" when IBF and AMS is not on CD....
no one ever does this on brewmaster. i wonder why........ hmmmmm.....
Wait till you get to a +10 BTW lol you will be pleasantly suprised its night and day harder than the lower keys.
nice slow appreciative clap for zero healer recognition.
