Agree hard with Chris about the brand's not supporting, it's sad to see our industry turn backs when people like Chad are making a big difference, not just for skaters - but the world.
Skate companies not showing up for this pissed me off too. Seeing him come over the hill alone in Tennessee I was struck by the solitude he was facing and couldn’t believe he had no support. Was glad to be able to offer him some small measure of support along the way. Chad is a true legend
Kinda feel like this is a SOTY worthy feat. No sponsors, no expectations, no media buzz, just a guy setting a personal goal and sharing it with everyone along the way.
Huge props to Chad. Been subbed to his channel since he had less than 5K of us on there. Shame on all the skateboard brands. ALL of them. We all knew about him during the trip and not one skateboard company said a peep.
Hearing Chad’s voice when the episode started made me remember how dope it was to watch his vlogs every morning while I had my coffee. Those two months were a whole vibe.
@@mikepottle6647 yeah, his tutorials played a big role on me getting back into skating. I started watching skate across America about half way through, every few days. He's a hugely underated character.
If any of you watched Chad's "The Final Push | Skate Across America Day 57" last video and didn't get teary eyed, check for a pulse, you're dead inside!
Just thinking back to that finale still makes the tears swell up. Which is embarrassing because I'm trying to get some work done in a coffee shop and now I'm wiping my eyes and fighting back a fist pump in the air.
Very Much deserved. Not one skateboard brand gave him the time of day. They had a month and a half to get in a van and go say hi and tell him there’s a box or two headed his way. I live far away and I’m ashamed for not getting out to see him and just give a hug and high five.
This is why love the Nine Club. Skateboarding is skateboarding pro, filmer, artist, and now Chad. Thanks for sharing the love of skateboarding from all lenses.
Yes, was hoping this would happen! My S.O.T.Y! What other skateboarder skated solo across America coast to coast, pushing 3162 miles in 57 days to raise for addiction awareness and promote sobriety? 👏🏼 Respect! 👊🏼 What a great journey, experience and achievement.👍🏼 Yo! 🐄 Well done and thank you Chad Caruso for all your effort, and for taking us along with you! 🙏🏼 Keep pushing! 🛹 Peace! 👊🏼🙏🏼💓
If you remember Heath Kirchart biked across America back in 2010. Pro skater and he didn’t even push across America. Chad’s journey was awesome and should be watched my millions. The interactions, cause, scenery, and ending were amazing.
Surprise! Stoked to see Chad in the thumbnail…started watching his channel when I was getting back on my board. Super inspirational and pretty ridiculous on transition! Learning 50 new tricks in 50 new places in 50 straight days will forever blow my mind.
Man I’ve been watching this guy forever. Would watch him and NKA and nine club all around the same time when my friend died and restarted skating about 6 years ago. When Kelly said he was doing NBDs and he was just like “yeah” it brought a tear to my eye. Mad respect. So much positivity from him and brought to my life in a much needed time. Super stoked to listen to this
I found Chads channel about two weeks before the end of the cross country trip and watched everyday. So cool and I’m stoked you guys had him on. I hope this exposure helps him get all the things!
True Inspiration! Honestly, 36yrs old.. he makes me want to get back into the skate world. Took a break for no reason(addictions) and feel like I'm ready for a change. "I didn't get old because of skateboarding, I got old because I quit skateboarding."
You should definitely get back into it if you haven't already. I started skating again at 35, 1.5 years ago, 37 now and better than I was as a kid. Loving it
Chad on the Nine Club!!! This is going to be the most epic evening after a long ass day. I love all of you boys, thank you for everything that you do. Thank you Chad, Chris, Roger, Jeron, Kelly. Love you!!! ❤
Chad's daily video uploads have been the only youtube content I have ever watched on a daily basis. I looked forward to his new vids every day. He documented his amazing trip in a very personal and honest way without frills and B.S . Much appreciation and respect. Thanks for having him on The Nine Club.....I was sure he would make an appearance soon.
This was such a sick episode !! So cool to see you guys on this nonchalant vibe, speaking to a somewhat "outsider" in the industry. The most rad dude, making such a HUGE impact in Long Island skateboarding. Truly a local (and now global) legend !
Chad's 50 states and skate across America have both been the highlights of my entire experience on UA-cam as a platform. Hugely inspirational figure, glad you had him on because he deserves a place in history. SOTY.
This is amazing!!!! I watch you both religiously and now have soooooo much more respect for you “Chris”because how upset he is genuinely from no corporation really supporting CHAD! 💯🔥
About ten years ago, I had the idea to skate across the US. I didn't do it because I'm a loser and procrastinator, but good for Chad. He's actually a pretty dope skater.
@@thecactuspat thanks ! People never seem to surprise me. Good or bad or whatever. Hopefully the balance is leaning towards the good. Hey you seem like a person who does nice things all the time!!
Chad's Skate Across America inspired me to get back on my long board. I hadn't touched the thing in like 3 or 4 years and I gotta say it feels really good to be back on a board! Thank you Chad.
Chad in the Nine Club, rightfully so. Thanks for sharing him with your audience. I watched his journey from day one. He is an inspiration to many and He was sharing pearls of wisdom that really make a difference. Thank you Chad and thank you Nine Club.
Been watching Chad for years!!!! Incredibly good skater, full respect SOTY FOR SURE!!!!! He smashes Street and ramp, utter Don. Fully inspired by Chad!!!!
Great to see Chad featured. One of my favorite skaters! Puts in the work for sure. Hope this gives him some visibility and brings him nothing but success!
This interview was so well done. I followed chad's journey across America so to hear the questions asked were so well researched and thought out. Well done 9 club crew !
I started following his trip after he was a few weeks in and caught some type of sober bug from it he inspired me to cut out my every other day beer and I wasn’t even trying to stop. Feeling 100% better now obviously there were other factors but what Chads message was is that we don’t need it, our lives improve without it (specifically alcohol)
Fukkin shame on all the skateboard brands. Not even one peep until he had already finished. They had a month and a half to just pull up in a van and say hi and let him know there’s a box or two headed to his place.
Woohoo!! I remember being in the "Experience" chat when Chad first did this. Everyone was SO stoked that NINE Club even mentioned it. I've watched him for about 3-4 years before the "Great Skate," and was SO HAPPY to see this thumbnail today. Thank You, Boyeeeez!! The best episode....Real skater.....From NY, like me, too....Booyakasha!!
Back in 2013, Chad gave me a cigarette outside of Applebees in Lindenhurst on Long Island. I didn’t even know his name. I just said “Hey dude from Tanner Skatepark!” Nothing but respect for Chad.
So Rad that you got Chad on and really dove into his stuff ahead of time to check out what he has done. What a good , humble dude, he deserves the shine!
Agree hard with Chris about the brand's not supporting, it's sad to see our industry turn backs when people like Chad are making a big difference, not just for skaters - but the world.
That's truly sad. Community should be ashamed.
Skate companies not showing up for this pissed me off too. Seeing him come over the hill alone in Tennessee I was struck by the solitude he was facing and couldn’t believe he had no support. Was glad to be able to offer him some small measure of support along the way. Chad is a true legend
Most skate companies today are corporate assboys who only see $$
Kinda feel like this is a SOTY worthy feat. No sponsors, no expectations, no media buzz, just a guy setting a personal goal and sharing it with everyone along the way.
You are on to something here.
Huge props to Chad. Been subbed to his channel since he had less than 5K of us on there. Shame on all the skateboard brands. ALL of them. We all knew about him during the trip and not one skateboard company said a peep.
GREAT point! I'd get behind that and vote for him based on those points!
Nah chill man, Tyshawn Jones is the SOTY from now on every year no matter what the fuck anyone does
100%. If I had to guess, I’d bet Chad has made a bigger impact on getting others on/back on the board than anyone else.
Hearing Chad’s voice when the episode started made me remember how dope it was to watch his vlogs every morning while I had my coffee. Those two months were a whole vibe.
Hell yes. I was away travelling Japan for the second half of his big skate, and i still made sure i got my "coffee with caruso" every morning!
🤙🤙
Yup they really were man
Yo!!!
So true
Agreed get off work and I’m watching his videos everyday it was pretty cool and inspiring like holy crap he’s really doing this
I didn't plan on watching the full episode, but Chad's authentic energy and positivity sucked me in.
Had you heard of him prior to this episode?
@@mikepottle6647 yeah, his tutorials played a big role on me getting back into skating. I started watching skate across America about half way through, every few days. He's a hugely underated character.
So deserved. Chad is hands down the most inspirational skater from everything he’s accomplished on his own. Zero ego. 100% skater. SOTY in my book
I don’t know about soty lmao thats a reach
Ahahaha
Chad getting some well deserved recognition. Stoked you guys had him on. This episode brought me back to the Nine Club.
