speaking in melanin and needing darker hair, what if you have dark skin as well? i tried looking at reviews for these devices and it seems like its best for light skinned people with dark hair specifically so i wonder about that
Not for dark skin individuals. The more melanin you have the harder it will be for the device to distinguish the skin from the root of the hair. Could cause hyperpigmentation or damage your skin, only certain dermatologists/ estheticians have laser hair removal in office that can be used for darker skin individuals. Most at home devices will deter dark skin individuals from using their at home laser devices.
