Loved that egg counting clip. If you ever do an anniversary video commemorating the day you posted your first video, today's grown up Olivia collecting eggs would be a highlight.
I miss the days of regular visits to New Yolk City. Especially the song, "We Left New York City".
Yes! Please put out the plans for one of the chicken tractors! I will only need one to start with. Thank you and have to say Brutus is getting so big and he is amazing! Blessings, Texas Deb ❤️
Everything is looking so nice ! Brutus is such a good Boy ! I LOVE YOU ALL !!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I remember your original video on these chicken tractors. I’ve been following you from the beginning. I have built three of these tractors over the years and they’re still my favorite.
I built several as well from the old video but upgraded and put wheels on it. Still using them with a few minor fixes
FINE BUSINESS! We have a holiday coming up here in Victoria B.C. CANADA. The annual Victoria day parade has traditionally a lot of U.S. entries taking part.Winter is way back in the rear view mirror! CHEERS from HERE!
I remember when I first started following you, you were using milk jug plastic for chicken tractor hinges. Things have improved over the years.
Looks like Brutus is living his best life.
Good afternoon to you all ❤ I've seen many different chicken tractor designs Al has made and i have to say they really are very useful. Thats going to be a lott of meat birdies you'll have. A successful way to living off grid. However i am on the grid, in a town and blowing all my money on bills.... Wish i had your life, animals, a tractor, a food garden.... Tranquil life listening to the birds and a little creek.... Ahhhhhhhn 😊 bliss ❤
I wonder if you'd think the same way if you had to do it all, every day, come rain, snow, hail, etc, and that's before the sun comes up ! They never stop and the more they build the more they have to look after. All the animals need feeding, or letting out, or combing, or moving around. Eggs need collecting. The roads need maintaining, the lake needs looking after. Theres a tent somewhere that needs sleeping in occasionally, and a shipping container with a garage space at one end and a furnished room at the other end that I haven't seen for a long time, and they still have their house to build, and although they choose to leave all their vehicles out in the open, they really do need to be under cover. and the under cover growing area that they had at their previous place needs replicating or they will be constantly trying to keep the local wild animals from eating what they are growing. What was that word you used ? Tranquil, bliss! Be careful what you wish for. I really do watching it all, but I'll settle for being a Townie.
Gotta LOVE that Brutus always clowning around LOLOL. Great JOB AL on instructions for chicken factories. God Bless you ALL.
Use a whisk to mix the powdered milk n water. Way better than a fork. 😊
A day in the life of Al, and Gina with Brutus running around!
Gooood morning Lumnah's! What a great day for our Lumnah fix. The pig shelters are fantastic, the chicken tractors ( while expensive compared ) are a sign of the season ❤. Thanks for sharing!
I heard it’s good to put chickens on after cows as they distribute cow Pattie’s. Your homestead is really looking good.❤❤❤ gosh I remember Olivia use to love egg collection ❤❤❤
Yea they love eating all the bugs in the cow manure
@@LumnahAcres and they spread out the cow poo…
Good morning Al, Gina, Olivia and all the Lumnah friends and extended family. Wishing everyone a great week.
Same to you Robert!

Good morning, Robert. I wish you the same, and God bless you
Gooood Morning !!! Freeze Dried Coffee...
@@fjbwoodworking8099 I bet that would make a good ice cream
If ever there was a man that needed his own sawmill, it is Al.
I love Springtime on the farm and getting ready for food production. It's fun watching Brutus grow so fast. 🥰❣️
Good morning Lumnah family. Yes you have to be quick on market place or you lose out. Those huts should work nice. Chicken tractors are nice when you have the grass area to move them around. Enjoyed the video, thank you
Good morning, Gene!

MY FAVORITE NH OFF GRID UA-cam FAMILY !
Good afternoon Lumnahs Al, Gina, Olivia & subscriber friends I pray everyone has a blessed Tuesday and week ahead! 😁👍🏼
Seriously, you two are one of the funniest couples on UA-cam. Thanks for making it so entertaining and informative.
I use those wide rolls of aluminum flashing for the back roofs instead of tarps . GM Al and Giner
That’s a good idea.
Awesome stuff always. Can't wait to see the feeder pigs and meat birds on the pasture.
instead of using tarps ,you can go to companies that put up vinyl signs and get the old vinyl signs for free or very little cost .
They did get old billboards 2 years ago to cover firewood.
Love the glue report. Too funny. Nice work you two. Brutus is huge. Really nice dog.
I live down under in Australia on the east coast in a small fishing town called Mollymook - love what you guys are doing/have done and watch every new video nightly. One big question I have for both of you - when do you get time for yourselves and Olivia? You live such full & hectic lives. Fantastic and you bring so much joy to all of your followers. 🙏💚💚thanks, stay healthy and be kind to yourself as you are inspiring.
Good Tuesday mornin Moose 🐓Crossing .... how is Brutus🐻coming along with Myles & George🦬🦬? I guessed🤔24 eggs🥚but I really don't know how many chickens you have these days. I will be glad when we spend more time with the critters to be honest. I miss all your goats .... so much personality between them. It's getting to be a blur trying to remember them all🐐Have a very nice week AL, Gina & Olivia 🐕🐩🐻🐮🐄🦬🐐🐓🐔🚜✌🏻
Four wheeler good addition. Maybe we’ll get to meet your brother soon.
Good morning Lumnah family ☕️
Good morning, Joseph!
Gooooooood Morning Joseph
Was thinking about the egg counting you and Olivia used to do; what a fun way to learn to count. That's a lot of eggs! Love you both living your best life. You both look so happy and healthy.
Things coming together nicely now it's time for farm work!!!! All looking great new chicken tractors and pig hut are a great addition! Brutus is a great dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay blessed all!!
Brutus is certainly growing to be a friendly hound - hope he will be aggressive towards any unwelcome critters!
@@samvalentine3206 morning Sam!
Brutus is making sure everything is looking good.Brutus is so cute 😍
You’re the best at putting film to gether and telling the story as well. Excellent videos
Seems like Brutus spends most of his day around you and Gina when you're outside. How much time does he actually spend around the Cows and Cattle. When he's older do you think at night he will spend most of his time in the Barn? Will he ever be a true Guardian Dog?
Valid questions which time will tell... I too am wondering how he will act with unwelcome guests.
Good morning everyone, yes please for the plans.
It is starting to look and feel like a farm!
"Just a Few Acres" made a dolly system to move them around the pasture on. Like a hand truck for the rear and a rope on the front to pull. Works very well!
Good morning! Glad to see the egg count is back! Lol I miss seeing you and Olivia counting eggs.
Only thing missing is Olivia's help like on the old video. I miss her in your videos. Good job Al
To reconstitute freeze dried milk is a 1-1 ratio (half a cup of dried milk to half a cup of water)
Good morning Al, Gina and Olivia those huts will be a nice addition to your homestead.
G’day 😊 that was an enjoyable video today. Thanks for sharing! 😃 road trip to town, building chicken tractors and love how Brutus was lying inside the chicken tractor lol 😂 the freeze dried milk looks pretty good 👍 excited to see the pigs arrive on the homestead too 😃
Goooooood Morning Agnes. Thanks for can’t wait till we get the piglets.
Good evening, Agnes - yes, today was a fun episode, like the ones of yore. And an egg count to boot! Well, actually we would not want to boot eggs, as they would become rather messy, ya think? (smile!)
@@samvalentine3206 G’day Sam 😊 true true! 😂 hope you have a wonderful week
Hello there, Agnes from sunny Minnesota. I'm hoping it's not too smokey today. Fires up in Canada.
@@damogranheart5521 G’day DH 😊 oh no! Poor Canada burning again 😳 it’s warm here on our end too. Unusual for May. Have a great week! 😃
Hi Al,Gina,Brutus. Nice couple of days there always building something & so good to watch.
The grass is starting to look good after all that snow. Take care happy family.
Yes Please!! I would love to have a good chicken yard tractor for my goslings.
Can't wait to see your set of pigs that you are getting soon. Also the new set chickens that you are getting too. Love your Brutus. His so beautiful indeed. Keep up the great work.
This is one of the best ones you've done in a long time. I love when you get your stuff second hand or is cheap as possible and let us know how much it cost. Also for Gina should go to homesteading family. She does a lot of canning and freeze drying and it has classes. She also has a great cookbook for gluten-free cooking.
Wonderful suggestion!
A very good morning from Gatwick wishing you all a happy and peaceful day 🎉
Goooooood Morning Gatwick
Good 🌄 morning! Where is Gatwick? It sounds interesting. May you have a blessed week!
Hi Al and Gina to cool you got some Porta huts for the pigs and the material for the chicken tractors. Sucks the material cost so much.
Gooooood morning Ida yea materials prices sure have gone up a lot
We would love the plans. I'm watching the video again today, and heading to the hardware store.
Good morning from New York I would love to have your plans for your chicken tractors as I need chicken tractors that are cheap

Hi Sam
@@ericwilliams1964
Hello Lloyd
You guys are the only ones I know whose chicken tractors come stamped for approval by Brutus😊
I built 5 of these about 2 years ago using your instructions from your website. We added a 12 inch chicken wire skirt around the bottom to keep the digginging predators at bay. I love them. Except for one thing. The roof sags and the top hinge is flimsy. I wholeheartedly support your addition of a 2x4. It will give the roof and the top hinge much needed support! Even a 2x2 works! Keep up the good work!
Al and Gina....you should try calf hutches for the pigs. We use them for our dairy calves and some of the pigs decided to takeover the extra hutches. Ours are fiber glass reinforced with a steel frame. you should be able to find them relatively easily with all of the dairy farms in New England
Goooooooood afternoon, Al & Gina
Great to see the farm growing. If you get to much bigger you're going to have to hire a ranchhand. You should put the covers on the electrical switches and outlets so you, Gina, or Olivia don't accidently stick a finger on a energized terminal.
Safety first!
That wouldn't feel comfortable
In my experience that will only happen once. ⚡
I think they know better lol
Electric in USA's 110 not like 220, a shock from plugs just a disturbance, now the electric fence will get your attention and no covers work to protect people from energized fence !
Make sure before you close the door on your Harvest Right to pull the rubber gasket out some. When you close the door you should see a ring where it contacts all the way around. That's why there is so much moisture on the plexiglass.
Good morning Al, Gina & Olivia. Al that would be great if you posted the plans for your chicken tractor! You and Gina have inspired me to raise a few chickens and plant a garden this year.

Nice chicken tractors . The powered milk brought back memories . I grew up on skim and powdered milk . I drink whole milk now . Seeya
Thank you for sharing your chicken tractor build! I think I'll use this idea and build a coop out of it, and maybe a tractor. I'm looking to build a low cost wooden coop and by using those dog-ear fence panels as the sides I think this will be an excellent option for us! Thanks!

Yes Lumnah Acres, I would love to have the plans for the chicken tractors. Looks awesome. You guys have taught us a lot and appreciate what you do!
Try conduit for the chicken tractors. Particularly the bottom
As runners to help it slide on the ground?
@@samvalentine3206 as the whole frame. but definitely as runners. i would put those 2 10mm lower than the rest. make the base out of 2*3 inch rectangle and the top out of the same, or 2 inch round tubing.
Good Morning Al, Gina and Brutus! Good looking chicken tractors. What do you think they weigh?
I’m not sure. A lot depends on if the wood is wet or not.
Typically Al just ties a nylon rope for pulling them, he only moves them enough to give Chickens new grass to forage, daily !
The chicken tractors look pretty good. The hardware cloth should keep errant snakes out as well, chicken wire, not so. Brutus looks like he's getting bigger, or you used the zoom in feature..😂😅 Love ya'll ❤️

If you can find semi grain trailer tarp they are very heavy duty. Easy to cut to size. I got one for free. I use it for a lot of things.

What are your plans with hope and her friend?
I think a freeze dryer is a great idea.
Have a great week.
❤❤❤
Good morning, Cary!
Gooooooood Morning Cary.
Good morning Sam 🌞
Evaporated milk has 60% of the water removed. So I use powdered milk and only add 40% of water that the recipe for regular milk requires. 💖🌞🌵😷
Yes, please include the plans again.
Thank you!
The freeze dryer opens so many possibilities for food storage. A freeze dryer is my dream to own. When I rehydrate store bought dried milk I find using an immersion blender really improves the texture. Have a great week.
Now that is an excellent suggestion! Thank you!😊
Good morning Lumnah Family from around midnight in Red Wing Minnesota! I'm staying about 10 miles from my old farm. My older son picked me up from the airport. I had to come home to see my younger son graduate. He's doing his final play in high school this weekend so I had to come home for that too! I'm glad you got your used pig huts. I'm looking forward to seeing how your freeze drying goes! Cedar fencing Al? Chicken tractors! Brutus inside the chicken tractor frame was so cute! Good idea to put it in a mason jar and mix it that way. Great idea Gina. I sure hope the milk tastes as good as regular! Those chicken tractors look very nice. Are you going to cover one of the ends? Too bad the milk tastes a little watered down. Double the power should help. Nice that your brother brought a 4-wheeler to the farm. Yay, egg count! Wow, 30 eggs! Thanks for this video Lumnah family!

The chicken tractor turned out very nice!
I think you will find having freeze dried milk and eggs will be great, you'll be able to make "instant" recipes like cornbread, brownies, cakes, etc that you can have ready to just add water and/or oil / butter to. Mashed potatoes is another good thing to freeze dry
Thanks for info on chicken tractors. Look great! Those will hold a bunch of chickens! I always use skim milk powder in my baking if needed. Great way to save your extra milk. Brutus so adorable, growing fast. Looks like a lovely day. We’ve been getting smoke from Northern Alberta and along with pollen, just staying indoors with allergy med. bunch to do anyway, plus bake couple things as well. Happy Days! ☀️👏😁🥰🤗🙏🏻
Good morning guys!
I think that when you put the second half of the top screen on, you realized that roll direction of your wire mesh has a significant impact on the ease of fastening and finishing on the framework. With your initial wall mesh, the end of the roll had the tendency to stick away from the framework. By unrolling the other way around the end will have a tendency to stick into the wall, thus giving you a smoother finished look.
You might also want to consider giving the roof a lean-to slope. Thus preventing the pooling of precipitation that tends to overload and collapse the roof structure. Maybe using a 2x6 for the center bracing and having half of it sticking above the top frame.
Good morning, and have a wonderful day
Good morning, Travus!
