It's funny that how the interpretation of the Quran changes though the ages . Because the early Muslims did thought that the sun sets in a muddy pond
The following is( Tafsir al-Tabari ) which is the first ever commentary on the Quran done by al-tabari who is considered one of the greatest and reliable historian of early Islam
The meaning of the Almighty’s saying, ‘Until he reached the place of the setting of the sun he found it set in a spring of murky water,’ is as follows:
When the Almighty says, ‘Until he reached,’ He is addressing Zul-Qarnain. Concerning the verse, ‘the place of the setting of the sun he found it set in a spring of murky water,’ the people differed on how to pronounce that verse. Some of the people of Madina and Basra read it as ‘Hami’a spring,’ meaning that the sun sets in a spring that contains mud. While a group of the people of Medina and the majority of the people of Kufa read it as, ‘Hamiya spring’ meaning that the sun sets in a spring of warm water. The people of commentary have differed on the meaning of this depending on the way they read the verse.
      Tafsir al-Tabari 18:86
So al-Tabari says of the Basran reading of the Qur'an:
بـمعنى: أنها تغرب فـي عين ماء ذات حمأة "Meaning: that it sets in a spring of muddy water."
And al-Tabari says of the Kufan reading of the Qur'an:
يعنـي أنها تغرب فـي عين ماء حارّة "It means that it sets in a spring of hot water"
Early authorities such as Ibn 'Abbas explain this to mean that the sun sets in black mud:
(Ibn Abbas was a cousin of Muhammad and close companion. Muhammad reportedly prayed for ibn Abbas to Allah to increase his knowledge on religious matters ( Sahih Bukhari 9:92:375 ) he was known as “the interpreter of the Quran” by Abdullah bin Masud, “ocean of knowledge” and “learned man of the Ummah”. The Islamic literature is full of statements of praise from the earliest Muslims, and prophet Muhammad himself ) . So it no matter of doubt that ibn Abbas is a great scholar of Islam now let's see what he has to say about Quran 18:86
Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated and said: Marwan ibn Mu'awiya narrated from Warqa, he said: I heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr say: Ibn 'Abbas read this letter "in a muddy spring"
and he said: the sun sets in black mud.
Others said: it disappears (تَغِيب) in a hot spring.
      Tafsir al-Tabari 18:86
Oh yeah. After combing through early Muslim commentaries it is clear that the early Muslims and scholars who were announced by Muhammad himself believed that the sun actually sinks in a muddy pond . And the modern interpretation is nothing but a futile attempt to save the Quran from drowning in it's own ignorance.

@mokshkikhoj Indian do you know arabic? If you dont, then what is the point? Words mean different things in different contexts at particular periods of time. For that one has to understand classical arabic of the time of the Prophet. Prophet s.a also has given narrations on the meanings of sentences which has been recorded by the sahabah and mufassirun. If one choses to interpret meanings of Quran differently then thats upto them. But Allah has made everything that clear and easy to understand in the Quran, which one is supposed to know. It is only the magnificence of the Quran that there are verses in the Quran that has mutli layered meanings and understandings that can be understood by people in different generations differently and yet be precise.

Quran 18:90, just four verses after 18:86:
"Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had not made against it any shield."

No early Muslim said that this was what appeared to Dhul-Qarnayn, but there are plenty who clearly say this is a literal setting place of the sun.
Here is what companion Ibn Abbas said to his student Sayd b. Jubayr on the verse:
    حمأة سوداء تغرب فيها الشمس.
Black mud that the sun sets in.
Here is what he said to student Salih:
    تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ سَوْدَاءَ
it sets in a black spring
Here is what he said to his student Atta
فإذا غربت جرت بالليل في فلكها تحت الأرض حتى تطلع من مشرقها
When it sets it runs during the night in its course beneath the earth until it rises from its rising place.
Here is the tafsir of Abu Aliyah Al-Basri (d.93):
بلغني أن الشمس تغرب في عين، تقذفها العين إلى المشرق.
I was informed that the sun is in a spring; the spring casts it to the east
    Here is Kab Al-Ahbar (72bh-36):
إنها تغرب في حمأة طينة سوداء.
    It sets into black mud.
There are also many references to being able to hear the sun setting in the spring. For instance here's Suhail b. Abi Salih (d.140):
لولا لغط أهل الرومية سمع الناس وجبة الشمس حين تقع
had it not for the noise of the Romans, people would have heard the sun when it fell down.
    And Sayd b. Al-Musayyib (15-94):
لولا أصوات الصنافر لسمع وجبة الشمس حين تقع عند غروبها.
had it not for the sounds of the horns, he would have heard the sun falling when it’s set.
    And Ibn Jurayj (80-150):
مدينة لها اثنا عشر ألف باب، لولا أصوات أهلها، لسمع الناس وجوب الشمس حين تجب.
A town with ten thousand gates, had it not been for the voices of its people, people would have heard the sound of the sun when it came.
Here also is Imam Al-Tabari (d.310) who clearly endorses a literalistic view:
And in my mind the correct opinion is to say that they are both popular readings in the land, and each one has a correctness about it and an understandable meaning, and neither contradicts the other, for it is possible that the sun sets in a hot spring that has mud and sludge, so a reader who uses “warm spring” is describing its temperature, and the reader who uses “muddy spring” is describing that it has mud and sludge. Both versions have been narrated to us.

I seriously can't believe this is an actual criticism LOL that some non Muslims bring. Even if you read a translation of the verse, a nine year old can understand by context that Dhul Qarnayn saw the sun appearing to set in water that fits that description (and near the caspian sea/Caucasian region till today we can find water that literally looks murky and dark so if someone went there, it would literally look like the sun is setting in murky water). Similarly if I say the sun sets in the English language, it doesn't mean it literally descends and whatever.

      @Great Khan Bla bla bla,
The hadith about the setting of the sun, all muhadithin agree it is the addition of the rawi (narrator) because it was narrated in several different turuk and he was the only one who added that. So the vast majority of the narrators of hadith believe it is not authentically ascribed, even if the chain is authentic. Please don't embarrass yourself. It's funny how you clownlessly use these are proofs yet you will claim miracles that are undisputed and authentically narrated not only by chain, but by lack of contradiction in narration, in countless turuk are somehow not authentic.
As I said, even a kid will read the story and understand that Dhul Qarnayn clearly came to a location where the sun appears to set that way, which is the case with the black sea, etc.

How do Muslims sleep at night with all this deceit & lies in their mouths. The context of these verses suggest a traveler tracing the path of the setting sun and describes where he sees the sun set. This is not a metaphor, this travelers is convinced the sun sets in a murky/muddy springs, even says he found people close by this location.
Notice the word that is used in verse 86, "near it", yes near where the sun set, this is a physical location description of the event, does this seriously suggest it is a metaphor? No, so why must Muslims persistently lie & try and deceive anyone into believing this verse is nothing but figuratively saying the "sun sets in murky/muddy water"....it is not, period.
it's here in black & white, what are you guys really denying?

And the one who said the Sun sets in murky water is considered as weak narrator in comparison so we don’t consider the Hadith of Sun setting in murky water

    1. You quoted the tafsirs by scholars but you didn't explain what proofs they bring forward to claim the word that this verse shouldn't be taken literally. Yes, they didn't even provide the verses from Quran, Hadith, Qoul Sahabah etc.
    2. Imam Tabari, an earlier Imam than ibnu Kathir accepted that the sun did set in a murky water/ boiling water. (Because he has no bias at all, at that time he wouldn't know what other recent scholars knew that it is impossible for a sun to set in spring)
    3. Tafsir was meant to show what Muhammad thought about a situation. Therefore, it must be translated into a context using evidences explaining the verse itself. The most acceptable ones is tafsir bilma'thur which use verses in Quran itself, hadiths, qoulu sohabah, etc.
    4. If Allah knows what is perceived by Iskandar was wrong, why did He put it in there anyway? Without even care explaining about it.

But what about this biggest mistake in the Quran i.e., geocentrism??
This verse clearly mentions that "he saw..." So it's obviously describing from the human's perspective. But the verses that I am going quote now doesn't mention anything like that and it's clearly talking about the reality and not from human's point of view.
    Here we go:
    1) "It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit." (36:40)
Sun not *overtaking* the moon? Are they in a race with each other or what? This clearly depicts the ancient geocentric model that sun and moon are in an orbit around the earth and they are in race with each other but they never overtake each other.
    2) Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.(25:45)
This time, Quran is attributing the sun with the movement of shadow. It is saying if Allah wanted, he
could have made stationary shadows but used the sun to make them change
sizes. If this is the case, what possible link could Movement of shadows have with the sun
    otherwise?
And here are the Fatwas of great islamic scholars like uthaymeen, Ibn baz etc stating that according to Quran and Hadith, sun actually revolves around the earth and earth is stationary.

    • @sprad539
      @sprad539 2 роки тому

Lmaoo! Geocentrism's problem is not that the sun revolves around the earth because that isn't a problem whatsoever. Geocentrism is an inaccurate name, probably due to the history of how the name came to be. The problem with the so-called geocentric model is claiming planets revolve around the earth in circular orbits not that the sun revolves around the earth. The thing that people don't note that all motion is relative, you can't say "x is moving" without saying relative to what is it moving. If you chose the sun as the frame of reference, then the earth would be revolving around the sun, the planets would be revolving around the sun, but the moon would be revolving still around the earth [in circles]. While if you chose the earth as the frame of reference, then the sun would be revolving around the earth, the moon would be revolving around the earth, but the planets would be revolving around the sun.
Think of it as if you were levitating over the earth and looked around you at the solar system, you'd see the earth being the frame of reference scenario, while if you were levitating over the sun, you'd see the sun being the frame of reference scenario. This isn't some "physics thing;" this is simply a fact. You can't say something is moving and something isn't without saying relative to what(in everyday life, we assume the frame of reference is a point on earth's surface). So really even if the Quran explicitly says the sun revolves around the earth, that is just as accurate as saying the earth revolves around the sun.
This argument is just as dumb as the argument in the video! Bring on more childish arguments!

      (QS. Luqman 31: Verse 29)
This specific Quran verses makes it very clear that the Quran supports geocentrism. The verse says ( do you not see) that ( Allah has subjected the sun running in it's orbit or a specific term) meaning what ever the sun's orbit is it is something that can be seen other translations says ( do you not not consider) implying that the orbit of the sun is something that was acknowledged at the time But the galactic orbit can't be seen nor was it known at that time. the only orbit that the sun seemingly makes is the orbit from East to west This is the only orbit of the sun that can be seen by the people are was acknowledged as an orbit at the time. And in the ancient times it was a absolutely universal belief that the sun orbits the earth. And this verse is clearly referring to that ancient belief .

And this fluid originate from the backbone of the male BEFORE it goes down to the testicles and becomes a sperm. So the sperm is produced in the testicles, but the fluid before it is a sperm originates from the backbone of the male, and it mixes with a fluid coming from under the rib of a woman, so you clearly see how it doesnt mention sperm rather it mentions a fluid which originates from the backbone of the male and under the rib of a woman, which is between the backbone and the rib.

Soon it will prostrate, but it will not be accepted from it, and it will ask for permission (to rise) but permission will not be given to it; it will be said to it: “Go back to where you came from.’ So it will rise from its place of setting and that is what Allah, may He be Glorified, refers to in the verse: ‘And the sun runs its fixed course for a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing (Qur’an 36:38)'”. What about this I mean how can thousands times bigger star go back the other way around sir

You can even explain the perspective argument with the English word “sunset”. We know the “sun” does not actually “settle” at dusk. it is the rotation of the earth that makes it look like it does. So even in the English language, we say the sun sets because of our perspective living on earth and we don’t mean the sun literally “sets” .

@@mohammadrakibulhassan9694 It's funny how important Islamic scholars disagreed on what the Quran says. Allah says in the Quran that it's a book with all verses fully explained in detail. Clearly not! He was not a good communicator, otherwise people wouldn't argue.
For example, he says in 21:30 that the Earth and sky were joined and separated, which is clearly wrong (yet all classical tafsir scholars say that's exactly what the Quran meant). In 2:29 he makes the Earth and things on it and THEN he turns to the heavens, which again is clearly wrong (yet all classical tafsir scholars agree with the Quran). So, the best Islamic scholars did not understand the Quran, or the Quran is wrong. How can someone like me today, who has studied astrophysics for many years, think that the Quran is correct when it clearly contradicts the basics of the Big Bang and what the Islamic scholars say the Quran means?

There's this channel called Beyond the Lote Tree that did a video based on this only recently. In their findings they found that it could actually not even be about a spring of muddy water but an actual place with that name as its meaning. [Pulalahua volcano crater] Pulalahua means 'cloudy water'. Hence Allah could've been giving us an amazing clue as to the actual location of Dhul Qarnyn's journey at the time. Considering this, we can also be able to get a little bit of a probable location of Gog and Magog's location. 😮 Also as a basis for atheists mocking us for that verse, I wonder if they've ever read a book ever, or done any form of English literature course ever. If the seven heavens are under the throne of Allah already. Than why did prophet Muhammad asked his companion that: "Do you know where the sun goes at sunset?!"..."it goes underneath the throne of Allah and asks for permission to rise up again. And a day will come where it will not be given permission and it will be said to it (sun) that go back where it came from. And that is when the sun will rise from the West".
And in another hadith prophet Muhammad says that: "Do not perform prayers when the sun rises and when it sets. For, the sun rises between the two horns of the devil and sets between the two horns of the devil".
The other variant of the same sahih hadith says that: "Satan goes and stands in front of a sun at the times of sunset and sunrise to imitate God. So that's why don't pray at these times".
The only problem is that the sun is CONSTANTLY "rising and setting" SIMULTANEOUSLY on someone somewhere.
These 2 above mentioned hadiths can only be true on a Geocentric Flat Earth model. And these hadiths suggest that prophet Muhammad did not knew that the earth is spherical with heliocentric model.
Thus the Quranic verse: Until, when he reached the setting of the sun [i.e., the west], he found it [as if] setting in a body of dark water, and he found near it a people. We [i.e., Allah] said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness." - Surah 18 Verse 86
WHY would Allah mention here what Dhul-Qarnayn saw? What was so special here? Think? Except that Muhammad believed that the earth was flat when he was making up the Quran.

You talk a lot, but you say nothing! So lets dissect this, First of all, "Who is Duhl Quarnane?" If you can find him anywhere in history please let me know. Secondly, "Why did this guy travel west?" If you want to see the sun set, just stand still and wait! you'll see it ''set'' in the west, but by this story he went west to find where it sets. Thirdly, "Why did he 'reach the setting place' ?" He reached it, he got there, it was a geographical location, it was a place. Fourth, "There he found it, what is that word? Wojida? " You say it was his perspective? well, did he find people by his perspective? were they there or not? He found the place , and he found a people, no perspective. OK, so you say that that word can have five meanings, well that doesn't make for a very clear quran now does it, sounds to me like a very muddled quran, so which one is it. So , he went "WEST", he "FOUND" the "PLACE", the same as him going EAST to find the rising PLACE of the sun. And last, and probably the most important, If this story was in ANY OTHER book you'd hold it up to ridicule and laugh at that religion, and you'd say, "Look at this foolishness, you can't believe that that book comes from God, God would never say that!" but it's in the quran so you have no choice but to try so desperately to defend it, HYPOCRIT!!

Notice the word that is used in verse 86, "near it, yes near where the sun set", this is a physical location description of the event, does this seriously suggest it is a metaphor? It was narrated by Abu Dharr in Dawud 4002. Why do you first take pride in what the quran says, and then dismiss this sahih hadith which says the same? Really illogical.
It is allah speaking in chapter 18, not DQ. So your explanation that it was from DQ is simply false; it doesn’t even use the word ‘see’ or ‘observe’. You insert that in the text first so that you can give an explanation about a modified quran. Why do you correct your prophet?
Ibn Kathir says this is the most western place on earth. Which means that he believed the earth is flat and as such claims the quran says that mohammed believed the earth is flat.
You don’t have to travel anywhere to see the sun set; it happens everywhere every day. Allah says DQ found the place where the sun disappears from visibility on the earth, which is the only way this verse nakes sense. So allah didn’t know the sun sets everywhere, but points out 1 specific place. That, Hijab, is really dumb.

Quran clearly mentions that Dhul Kar Nayeen reached the setting place of the sun & he found it setting in a muddy spring. Now if it just a pov why then quran talks about reaching the setting place of the sun. Do any of the paper or news says that the sun sets in it's setting place? Also a sun set can be observed only if there is water spread until the horizon which is impossible in case of a spring and no sea on earth is muddy and also the word 'hamiah' is never used in arabic to mean sea or ocean. Also quran mentions three journeys of Dhul Kar Nayeen. One until he reached the setting place of the sun, another until he reached the rising place of the sun and lastly until he reached the pass between two mountains. The same word has been used to mean 'reach' on all the verses and the pass of two mountains wasn't a pov of Dhul Kar Nayeen but an actual place where there exists two mountains. So if setting place and rising place was a pov why the word has been used? Now there is also a sahih graded hadith in Sunan abi Dawud about Muhammad talking that sun sets in a muddy spring. Also the story of Dhul kar nayeen very closely resembles the Syriac Alexander Romance whose oral version is the source of quranic Dhul kar nayeen tale. In Syriac alexander romance, Alexander reached the end of the world and find the setting place of the sun and sun also sets in a muddy spring. Alexander also reaches where the sun rises and this is also mentioned in the quran and in Syriac legend Alexander reached a mountain pass and then build wall which is also found in quran. Now the syriac legend's written form dates about 630 Ad where sura kahf of quran was made in between 615-619 Ad. But that gives no chance to say that Syriac legend is influenced by Quranic Dhul kar nayeen tales because before taking into written form this legend was common folk story througout syria and surrounding regions and Syriac legend gives much more details than qurans few lines version. And also Sura kahf was made in meccan period when Muhammad was considered nothing more of a mad man and only a handful of people accepted islam. And syriac legend were written by Syrian christians who were definitely not inspired by muhammad's stories. But muhammad went frequently in syria before claiming to be a prophet and most probably heard this legend from people there and thats why he was unable give much details in his made up verses but only talks about common points which are going at the end of the world and reaching setting place of the sun, reaching the rising place of the sun, reaching mountain pass and so on. Also early muslims including al tabari believed that sun literally sets in a muddy spring. Tabari mentioned in his history of prophets and kings that people of basra and another city had difference by what kind of spring the set in. One group thought it sets in a hot spring and other group thought it sets in a muddy spring. Tabari said that he find both thought correct as the spring can be hot and muddy. There are many other examples who believed that the sun literally sets in a muddy spring. It was not until Ptolemy's work translated in arabic and then people come to know that the sun is bigger than the earth and then ibn kathir and others started to give pov explanations. But quran meant it literally.

The best proof that its not meant in the literal sense is that,
A couple verses later it says he found the sun rise on people. This proves that it's not in the literal sense. The traveler knew when he encountered those people the sun was no where near him or them, but though Allah said he found it rise on them. Clearly it's not literal.

The Quran contains many Prophecies that have been fulfilled,
The first two prophecies are noteworthy: unlike any other world scripture, the Quran prophesizes its own preservation under divine care, and we will demonstrate how it actually occurred.
The Protection of the Quran from Corruption
The Quran makes a claim no other religious text makes, that God Himself will keep its text safe from alteration. God says:
"Behold, it is We Ourselves who have gradually revealed this reminder, and, behold, it is We who shall truly guard it [from all corruption]." (Quran 15:9)
The Ease of Memorizing the Quran
God has made the Quran easy to memorize:
"And in truth We have made the Quran easy to remember; who, then, is willing to take it to heart?" (Quran 54:17)
The ease with which Quran is memorized is inimitable. There is not a single scripture or religious text in the world that is as easy to memorize; even non-Arabs and children commit it to memory easily. The entire Quran is memorized by almost every Islamic scholar and hundreds of thousands of ordinary Muslims, generation after generation. Almost every Muslim has some portion of the Quran memorized to read in his prayers.
    The Twofold Prophecy
Before the rise of Islam, the Romans and the Persians were two competing superpowers. Romans were led by Heraclius (610-641 CE), a Christian Emperor, whereas the Persians were Zoroastrians led by Khosrow Parviz (reigned 590-628 CE), under whom the empire achieved its greatest expansion.
In 614, the Persians conquered Syria and Palestine, taking Jerusalem, destroying the Holy Sepulcher and the ‘True Cross’ carried to Ctesiphon. Then, in 619, they occupied Egypt and Libya. Heraclius met them at Thracian Heraclea (617 or 619), but they sought to capture him, and he rode madly back to Constantinople, hotly pursued.[2]
The Muslims were grieved by the Roman defeat as they felt spiritually closer to Christian Rome than Zoroastrian Persia, but the Meccans were naturally buoyed up by the victory of pagan Persia. To Meccans, the Roman humiliation was a sinister omen of the defeat of the Muslims at pagan hands. At the time God’s prophecy comforted the faithful:
"The Romans have been defeated - in a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious- within ten years. With God is the Decision, in the past and in the future: on that Day shall the believers rejoice with the help of God. He helps whom He will, and He is the Mighty, the Most-Merciful." (Quran 30:2-5)
The Quran made a prophecy of two victories:
    (i) The future Roman victory within ten years over Persians, something unimaginable at the time
(ii) The joy of the faithful on a victory over the pagans
Both of these prophecies actually occured.
In 622, Heraclius left Constantinople as prayers rose from its many sanctuaries for victory over the Persian Zoroastrians and the reconquest of Jerusalem. He devoted the next two years to campaigns in Armenia. In 627, he met the Persians near Nineveh. There, he killed three Persian generals in single combat, killed the Persian commander, and scattered the Persian host. A month later, Heraclius entered Dastagird with its stupendous treasure. Khosrow was overthrown by his son, who made peace with Heraclius. Returning to Constantinople in triumph, Heraclius was hailed as a hero.[3]
Also, in the year 624 AH, Muslims defeated the Meccans in the first and decisive Battle at Badr.
In the words of an Indian scholar:
"…a single line of prophecy was related to four nations and the fate of two great empires. All this proves the Holy Quran to be the Book of God."[4]
    The Prophecy of Pagan Defeat
The Quran predicted the defeat of unbelievers in Mecca while Prophet Muhammad and his followers were still being persecuted by them:
"Or do they (the Meccan disbelievers) say: ‘We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?’ Their multitude will be defeated, , and they shall turn their backs [in flight]!" (Quran 54:45)
The prophecy was revealed in Mecca, but was fulfilled at the Battle of Badr, two years after the Prophet’s migration to the city of Medina.
    The Fate of Specific Individuals
Waleed ibn Mugheera was a staunch enemy who openly ridiculed the Quran:
"Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; this is nothing but the word of a mortal!" (Quran 74:24-25)
The Quran prophesized he will never accept Islam:
"Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? It leaves naught nor does it spare aught." (Quran 74:26-28)
Waleed died in a state of disbelief as prophesized by the Quran.
Also, concerning Abu Lahab, a fiery opponent of Islam, the Quran foretold he will die opposing the religion of God:
"May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and [indeed] he has perished. His wealth and gains will not profit him. He will be plunged in flaming Fire." (Quran 111:1-3)
Specifically, three prophecies were made about Abu Lahab:
    (i) The conspiracies of Abu Lahab against the Prophet would not succeed.
(ii) His wealth and children would not benefit him.
(iii) He would die opposing God’s religion and enter the Fire.
Abu Lahab also died in a state of disbelief as prophesized by the Quran. Had Waleed or Abu Lahab accepted Islam even outwardly, they would have disproved its prophecies and thus its heavenly source!
In addition, Abu Lahab had four sons, two of whom died at a young age during his lifetime. The other two sons and a daughter embraced Islam and frustrated his hopes! Finally, he died of a plague; people would not touch his body out of fear of contamination and dumped mud and stones on him where he died to make it his grave.
A key foundation to believing that a scripture is actually a revelation of God is internal truth, whether it be in regards to occurrences in the past, to come in the future, or in contemporary ages. As one can see, there are many prophecies mentioned in that which is to come, some of which were fulfilled in the Prophet’s lifetime, or have been fulfilled since his death, while others are yet to appear

The word مغرب came from the word غرب يغرب which means to set in west specifically for sun so it’s clear it’s set’s in the west not in the water الله اعلم

In verse, it says "he found it set in a spring of murky water" "set" in this verse is "Tagrubu" and this is not using for physical settings.

Im native arabic, and we never had problem with this, even arab atheist did not say anything agains this because simply the word "تغرب" taghrubu mean to disappear which have nothing to do with setting!

"the sun sets in a muddy spring" - how dare you trying to justify that literal error?
