    This was by far the best review of this product. As an artist I want to know how it performs, what are the nuances, the specifics and the feel of using it...everyone else does an unboxing which means nothing. Thanks for the great video!

    Mine arrived this week! - I concur.
    I must say I am pleasantly surprised at quite how good it is for the price bracket it's in.
    All-metal chassis - plenty bright if the over-saturated colour that is fine for me as I have two Monitors I rely on for accurate colour - this is all about illustration, tracing for me and the two main areas of concern - is this new chip in their pen really going to make the difference?
    A Resounding YES!
    it's impossible to see any jitter drawing diagonal lines - unless YOU are the one with the shakes. Testing a line with a ruler and its perfect in ClipStudio etc. - Digitising the signal between pen & tablet certainly seems to be working out for XPPEN.
    Parallax - NONE The ink literally looks like it's being emitted from the pen tip - The Fully laminated display here is GREAT!
    Lag - again none - the fastest sketches are never going to have to wait for the display to catch up with the pen.
    Vector brush strokes/pen pressure working out fine too - A Stroke is a stroke - no ugly checkmark at the start of a stroke - And the tails as the line fade out as good as I have seen anywhere.
    Tracing - going to be super fast on this thing.
    A two-fingered glove is provided as is standard - but I quickly forgot to use it when I found palm rejection you might find on a tablet is not an issue - Glove free work is fine.

      People just call this the XP-pen Innovator v2. v1 has a white metal look but overall looks the same just older.

    For me, the most important are the buttons and dials, I've been using deco pro for a long time and these shortcuts are fantastic and make my work much faster. especially for those who use a laptop and don't like to use multiple shortcuts from an extra keyboard.
    And of course this pen technology is a big reason to buy it. Since my tablet doesn't have a good sensitivity and I made a hole in it lol.
    Thank you for this review!

    Thank you, thank you for this review! I'm having to warranty return my Innovator 16 (horrible screen glitch issues) and have been debating on getting this as a small 'upgrade' for me. It's so nice to have a reviewer that actually uses this instead of just unboxing it.

    Thanks for this! Lots of valuable information in here.
    If you're open to feedback, I'd recommend maybe trimming down the video length and going for a more structured approach. The algorithm isn't kind to longer videos, which might be the cause of the low view counts you mentioned midway through the vid. I also think most people who watch tablet reviews are looking for the quick and dirty on the display's line quality, pen performance, etc.
    You have some serious drawing chops and are quite pleasant to listen to. Cheers!

    I watched many videos on the corn 16 pro and none went into depth like you did. I’m upgrading from seven year old huion and your review made me order it. ^^ i think it will be a great upgrade considering I’m on a budget and all.
    Thank you for your in depth review.
    One question though, since this is a 2 year old video. How have the hardware held up so far? I take great care of my electronics (hence why my huion didn’t break or scratch for 7 years) but I would like reassurance that if I take care of it, it will last.
    I’m very attached to my huion but it’s due to retire. If I could I would keep using it.

      Mmm…hard to say. I like drawing big so the 22 is a great choice. But the pro 16 is a solid choice. I love them both. I say 22 if money is no issue and 16 pro if you are starting and not sure what to buy.

    The things you were saying about how nice it is to draw really shows in how smoothly you were just able to draw. I've been watching so many reviews of different tablets, at different sizes, to figure out what I want. I haven't seen any other tablet be that smooth and they usually show a bit of brush lag behind. I didn't realize how much nicer that lack of lag looks to draw with.
    I'm coming from an iPad pro so I'm used to a smooth experience. I've been worried that a similar size screen with a lower res might feel too much like a downgrade. Your review makes it seem like it might be a lot closer of an experience. Although I also see you mentioned having a 24in for pro work. Is the extra size/resolution that much better than the drawing experience on this?

    • @MichaelClaridaArts
      @MichaelClaridaArts  Рік тому +1

      Bigger drawing area is what I need as a professional. The 24 pro also has a 2k screen. I am looking for a 4K that is that size but all too expensive. I also have a iPad Pro 12.9. Great to doodle on but too small and does not run full pro programs. I have to have a large drawing surface as I draw big and I like having lots of space for reference. I worked on a 22hd for a while and that is probably the smallest I like to go for pro work. Smaller tablets like this are good for travel and people on a budget. I likes ‘‘em big:)

      @@MichaelClaridaArts The lack of using pro software has gotten me too. Although I use Clip Studio Paint and it's on iPad but I need to be able to use 3D sculpting and painting software too.
      Your reason about liking to draw big is actually really helpful. Cause I don't know if I like to draw big. I never drew big on paper and I've only had smaller tablets before. Seems like it might be worth getting this if only to see if my work outgrows it.
      Thanks!!

    Hey, first of all I wanted to thank you for the great videos of you! Have already often watched videos from you. :D
    I had a question for you. I'm just thinking about whether I should get this display or the XP Pen 16 2nd gen. You could test both (the 2nd gen was a smaller version), which would you rather recommend?
    Had already flirted with the TP 16 but that is too expensive for me. ^^

    • @MichaelClaridaArts
      @MichaelClaridaArts  Рік тому +1

      I have tested the 16 to and the 16 second gen. Both are great and similar in drawing experience. The artist pro 16 is a bit nicer construction and cleaner drawing experience but both are great overall. Depends on your budget:)

    Amazing. Thanks. I really liked your video. And also, about your observation, I think i would suggest trying with shorter videos, even if the content is amazing, people may not want to or have the time to sit down for a whole 45-60 minutes. Try a couple of videos and see. Because the commentary and the content is not bad

    Great video! I absolutely love this brand, but I have a question. Is this tablet better than the Artist 15.6 pro? I mean, way better? I already have the money for the 15.6, but I came across this one and I like it a lot. And for reference, it's my first tablet with screen. I used to draw with a Wacom Intuos, so I'm kinda lost in this area

    • @MichaelClaridaArts
      @MichaelClaridaArts  2 роки тому +1

      No…you should be fine with what you have. I still use the 24” pro 2k for my pro work and it is great. New pen tech is nice…but you are fine.

    Asking for 4k resolution for this small screen is nonsenical - 2k at maximum, although for 15.6" screen and normal viewing distance 1080p (as this device has) is plenty enough. Also, for 4k, you'd better have a good PC so that performance is not suffering...

    • @MichaelClaridaArts
      @MichaelClaridaArts  2 роки тому

      Actually…the XP pen pro tp 15.6 has a 4K screen. Additionally…my HP Zbook 14” all in one also had a 4K screen(that was 2 years ago). 1080 and 2k plenty enough…yes. Agreed. 4K is a luxury at this size. Nonsensical…no. Many of the PCs and tablets are transitioning to a 4K standard. Only time will tell what comes out. We always want better…clearer…and faster. I believe that 2k should be the norm in 2022…with 4K being the upgrade. I am sure they are working on new resolutions as we speak and will put 8k in a tablet. That will probably need a powerful card indeed.

      @@MichaelClaridaArts Hi Michael...I do have XP pen Artist 15.6 Pro (bought 1.5 years ago) and that is 1080p (FHD - 1920x1080), for me personally that pixel density (DPI) is totally sufficient. At some point (above certain DPI) there is a limitation of our human eye, when we can't really distinguish higher resolution and then there is no sense to have higher resolution that we can actually process...by the way, I like your art style and the seemingly effortless drawing skill :)
      Edit: you're right...there is an XP Pen display this size (15.6") with 4K. The model's name is 'Artist Pro 16TP'.

    watching this as i already ordered my device during their autumn sale lel. i've one question tho regarding the pen itself. would the innovator 16 variant be compatible with the pro 16? because that one is slightly heavier but doesn't have the x3 chip and i'm not sure if its strictly dependent on the display model.

    Hello.
    I got the Artist 16 pro recently and I'm having some difficulty with the colorimetry settings.
    I don't have a probe.
    I increased the brightness to 100%, but I find that natively, at 6500k, the color temperature is... too warm...
    Am I right to think so?
    In user mode, what RGB settings would you recommend for this tablet?
