  • UPDATE: BUYER BEWARE. While I was happy with this mic's performance while it was working, it just stopped working a few months after warranty. I asked Rode if there was anything they could do to help, and they essentially said since I was out of warranty, there was no option except to buy another mic since these aren't meant to be repaired. The mic did not get any stressful use, and was not exposed to the elements. I have used it indoors, around my house, on basic personal projects. A disappointing ending to an otherwise promising product.
    Anyone have suggestions for alternative products?
    Rode, your customer service accused me of threatening behavior when I said I would report these events in this forum, and eventually hung up on me while I was still speaking. I can't help but think that there might have been some other way forward.
    What's the alternative? Risk the same problems on the same model? Upgrade to the Rode II for $500?
    Here's how to connect your Rode Wireless Go to your Zoom H4n:
    1.) Plug Rode Transponder into EXT MIC input on the back of the Zoom.
    2.) Press Input Button (left hand, front of unit) so MIC button is lit red. Make sure you have MIC selected. NOT 1 and / or 2.
    4.) Press REC button once, until it flashes. This means the recording channel is ARMED and ready to record. This allows you to check sound levels without recording.
    5.) Speak into mic. Adjust sound levels using REC LEVEL button on right hand side of Zoom. -6db is usually good.
    6.) Press REC button a SECOND time. Time code will start running. You are now recording.
    7.) To PAUSE recording, push REC button 3rd time.
    8.) To STOP recording and start a new track, push REC button 4th time.

      That is *exactly* what I was going to do too! 😄 I should read more manuals. I had the H4n for probably five years maybe longer. And I first found that jack a day or two before I made this tutorial.

    I need to run at least 2 rode wireless go into a simple mixer. Can you run the transmitter into the xlr combo jack if I use a 1/4" to 3.5mm jack?

    Is there any way to record multiple channels simultaneously with that Zoom Mic? I.e. have one using the main Mic of the zoom and then another using the wireless go?

    • @DREZZYFILMS
      @DREZZYFILMS 2 роки тому +2

      I don't think so since the Ext Mic cancels out the internal mic signal which the
      wireless go ii is plugged into.

  • @soupricemf1260
    @soupricemf1260 8 місяців тому

    Be careful guys.. any wireless mic could interfere between the wireless mic and the zoom frequency.. that could make annoying digital noise into the mic
