The owner of Spoon once said that the CL7/CL9 TSX/Accord R has a better chassis than the Civic and Integra. He said it just weighs too much so once it's lightened it's actually better. I used to run one and just with intake + header + exhaust + brake pads it had no issues keeping up with a stock E46 M3 on track.
Pretty sure cl7 cl9 are stiffer and more rigidity, but no way they are better chassis than older civics especially ek eg dc2 Ed, thoes cars running double wish bone man
i own a 04 accord lol, ended up making my own intake setup/megaphone exhaust tip , garden edging lip/ side skirts and underglow kit everything is built to chincy and selling high
Yeah but those cars costs hundreds of thousands these are still relatively cheap build in comparison to jtcc and btcc cars a tsx shell with a cage probably cost him 3k-5k and the motor and trans probably 10k if the motor is built but if it's a stock motor with bolt ONS maybe 4k and the list slowly builds up from there which is still cheaper than a jtcc car
@@tijeansharpe566 I can tell my point went over your head it’s not about the cost but I meant it wasn’t the first sedan to be a track build this was normal it’s nothing new….
Damn, I literally just finished wrenching on my pos daily beater. Now I see this and its got my juices going again. A week ago i was ready to crush it lol.
There is actually quite a lot of love for this generation of Accord/TSX. The CL9 chassis is quite possibly one of Hondas best cars imo. The design still just about holds it's own today, for a car that will be 20 next year that's .quite an achievement.
I actually regret selling my 08 NHB Manual its such a enjoyable car to drive K24/6 Speed with classic Honda double wishbone can’t beat that only thing Honda should’ve done is add a Helical Style LSD.
Thank you for featuring such a unique build Larry! It’s always awesome to see under-appreciated chassis get some spotlight, especially with knowledge and passionate owners!
Larry, my man, this chassis has racing pedigree, just look at the euro r for example 😕 heck, there were even factory race cars, not to mention the spoon, m&m, RealTime, and this badass one
There's a lot of tsx/euro cl9 and cu2 Honda fans throughout the world, great video, I have a completely stock euro cu2 as one of my company vehicles, I also have a CR-V, cheap, comfortable and fast. Great video. Great to see haltech gear in there too!
What a gorgeous track car. One of my favorite liveries of all time. I did a black/white digi camo style on an S2000, looks stunning.... now I gotta figure out how to get all the Gridlife class decals in GT7.....
For being a big heavy car that the tax is, this car is quick and dude can drive. I follow Kutil, I think that’s how it’s spelled. Car was catching and pulling on him. Well done.
4:42 Integras with the trailing arm did this too. Ask anyone whos ever driven one on the limit, It handles more like a FR than an FF. That lift off Snap oversteer.
4yrs ago had an 06 auto TSX then moved on to a B18b1 with gsr trans EK sedan. Have a 2yr old now, wife just got a 2020 Accord 1.5T. I'm planning on getting a 06-08 JDM Accord type R aka USDM TSX 6sp!
I saw once on the Nurburgring european doppelganger of TSX wagon - Accord Tourer, with cage and aero, fully track specced. That's the true oddball, with K24 under the hood obviously.
A lot of racing is about using cars that weren’t intended to go fast… like the 3 Series and 190’s in DTM, the original Mini Coopers in rallying, and Realtime Racing’s TSX in World Challenge Touring Car.
Larry, you keep talking about "cars that were never meant to go fast." But that's a large part of racing. The cars participating in DTM, World Challenge GT, were "never meant to go fast." Cars such as 3 Series, MB 190, Mini Cooper, amd TSX.
Realtime Acura were whuppin ass with there tsx ,from back then .. so no doubt in he would be doing well in his .. iv owned tsx's n did the basic tune, and they actually pulled n handled really well shout to Truhart.. coilovers were great for the street
4th gen preludes have double wishbones all four corners. also very accord up till 8th gens have this exact suspension this tsx does. He’s making this car sounds ultra special and rare and it isn’t. Definitely a cool ass car tho!! No hate, I’m just autistic for honda stuff and am a tech at a honda dealership. But yeah this tsx has practically the same suspension as my 2000 accord v6 coupe. Just civic based stuff was trailing arm and other ones here and there. Fits are like that single beam rear axle with McPherson up front …..
The Tsx is a race car “touring race car” Honda Accords are just as much of a race car as any civic or Integra just a different class of automotive racing also there is a long forgotten Chassis that is a Honda Accord that was faster then a N1 GTR
I know that this might be a unrelated question, but I've been trying for a while to find out what's the title of the song that Larry uses for outro. Big thanks to anyone that helps.

Hard not to love a first Gen TSX
The beak ruined it tbh. First gen is much more eye appealing

Nice dude. I really love this car too. More specifically, the accord r
Also to add the 90s Intergra 4door is a stiffer and better chassis over the two door 90s teg but I still prefer the two door teg r.
Pretty sure cl7 cl9 are stiffer and more rigidity, but no way they are better chassis than older civics especially ek eg dc2 Ed, thoes cars running double wish bone man
@@freakyfriday9370 So does the TSX...
@@freakyfriday9370 ek and eg are shit... good chassis just with 5k invested in them
The CL9 Chassis won SCCA Endurance TC Championship 3 times 2005, 2007, 2008.
I love this thing soo much, you have no idea. I've been talking to my wife about building a CL9 race car, just to make like a US Super Tourer.
Do it, these things drive & handle so good.
i wish this platform had more love its hard getting parts for my tsx lol

Love this thing! Go TSX Gang!
Glad to see a feature on this build. I’m trying to build a stream version of this car.
I have always liked the body lines of the TSX

yeah i parked next to a R32 GTST and i seemed like a crossover
The uncommon stuff is the best.
James is the man. Love his DC2.
Much love- jealous the TSX came with that suspension setup and the DC5 didn’t. Always the weak point on the DC5
I love the tsx and this tsx this particular one gives me Australian v8 racing vibes style looks cool
Thank you Larry Chen for featuring this car once again -M/T TSX Owner
Love the TSX so much man, hondas hidden gems.
The secret with the TSX is they took a sports car from Japan and labeled it a luxury vehicle lol
This model has been around racing for a while Larry. You need to check your history
4:42 Integras with the trailing arm did this too. Ask anyone whos ever driven one on the limit, It handles more like a FR than an FF. That lift off Snap oversteer.

Larry, I'm upset you know nothing about the 7th gen accords, but then again, I don't blame you.
Dumb question but is there any room for improvements with everything that’s done, since there’s a power and weight restriction

lots of accord rolling around, this special explaination is a accord owner thing, id feel good if i built it
The TSX was meant to be a race car, the accord/euro R. It’s not an Acura TL.
Remember guys, he's just trying to be the fastest in a straight line.
What the wheel and tire spec?
Love ur videos
Wait, what?!? Not supposed to be a race car? Who forgot to tell RealTime Racing? This car with a K20C1 or 4 would rule SCCA STU.
I cringed a little
Larry can you ask ktuned to remake the discontinued kpro dual ecu harness?
