  • Here's another high speed / no narration inside out ornament I've just taken off the lathe.
If you don't want to hear the background music, just turn the sound down... you won't be missing anything else. lol
OH! - And this ornament gets something new... (to me, anyway)
    You won't believe your eyes!!!
hahaha ... Yes you will,... I've just noticed that that phrase is a pretty effective hook on some social media sites that shall remain nameless. hahahahaha
Hope you enjoy the video. It was a fun ornament to turn, although the glue up was a bit tedious. lol
    Cheers!

I've done maybe ten inside out ornaments. To this point I haven't done one that I'd show anyone. You make it look easy, impressive!

That is so nice. I will be trying my first inside out turning this month. Never thought to put something inside. Clever!

+Willem Kossen Thanks Willem! The tree, quite honestly, was an after thought. I made it about a week ago just as a stand alone trinket, but it seemed to fit so nice in the cavity I had to give it a shot. hahaha It is a little to large for the space. Looking back, I think I should have used a smaller item, and secured it inside somehow. ... next time.
      Cheers!

Great idea. I liked the surprise at the end. I was wondering why you left the paper inside. Cool. Send more videos. Thanks.

Great job on that ornament, I've never thought of making an inside outside turning by using a whole piece and then cut it until I saw you do it and now again, it's those simple things that gets you thinking, even if you didn't invented it, still a good call! :)
Love the shape of it, looks very Roman. On a side note, loved the music too, turned it up, but had to use headphones, so got the full experience, like intended ;)

+Yuval Lahav I'm so glad you liked it Yuval! ... As some say, "time is money". By doing the quartering after cutting the cavity, I save a bunch of time... but, if I don't cut it perfectly in the centre of the blank, it can cost time. These are chances I'll take. (I'm pretty good at finding centre LOL)
Also, I LOVE that you liked my music. Those are a few tracks I threw together one winter before I started turning. I am by no means a musician, but as an artist, I looked at the music program on my computer as an audio palette and just started playing with the sounds until I created something I could bear listening to. hahahaha . (I use 'Fruity Loops 10' for making music) ... Lots of fun! I may try to make some more in the future, but at the time I'm having too much fun on the lathe.
      Thanks again, Yuval!
      Cheers!

+Brams shed Thanks Bram! I am really enjoying the process of making these. I'm finding the key is very sharp tools... and really strong tape. Clamps are ideal, but I don't have many, and the ones I do have are too large for this.
I'd love to see how it turns out for you!
      Cheers!

I’m Surprised the edges of the inside part don’t chip out while you’re turning that area

Nice. You could put a wire in the top of tree and then hang it from the inside with a nail or pin.

What I don't like about inside out turnings is, they are always spoiled by the visible joins.

  • @Dericheau

Nice job Jerry. Could go even faster with a few clamps instead of tape. Just a thought.

    • @JerryPaulTreeCreations

lol a 'few' clamps is all I have. Tape actually works amazingly well, if you get the good quality stuff.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!

Nice but I think the TREE is a little big for the opening. Good Idea. I do like it but not a good Idea to do that with LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS, I hope you still have your arm. :0 I was watching this in Dec 2019.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I was wondering why you use tape instead of clamps. Is there a benefit to the tape? Thanks in advance. And I LOVED the beginning music, it reminded me of an old Nintendo video game from my youth LOL :)
