Angel Reese primarily works to get possession of the ball under the basket. She boxes out the one or two players she contends in the limited area of the paint. Caitlin Clark works all over the entire 94-foot court the whole game. She is either dribbling, passing, running, or setting screens for her teammates. Many times, after all that effort, she still doesn't get the ball back. Plus, she's double teamed more than any other player on both teams. I thank God she is in great condition. This way she can endure all the WNBA level of physicality she faces from numerous defenders every night! What God has for Caitlin Clark is for Caitlin Clark! Her amazing anointing is from Him!

    First rookie in WNBA history to record 355 points 131 rebounds and a 162 assits…plus 17 blocks 30 steals.Not a full season, but a 1/2 season..
    C. C averages 16 points 6 assists in 7 rebounds. Only 3 people in basketball history have done that the other 2 are Magic Johnson and Oscar Robinson. CC is the first rookie to have triple-double. Fastest WNBA player to record a 150 career assists since 1998. Currently leading the WNBA in points scored or assisted on with 713 points. Caitlin.Clark now stands alone as a rookie with the most point++ assists double-doubles in WNBA history surpassing all-time great basketball superstars Sue Bird. CC Is every team Super Bowl! She gets double teamed or at least single coverage full court every game all game. Every team is committed to stopping Caitlin and making Her and the Fever look bad. I value intangibles over anything else. That said, what I love most about Caitlin Clark's game isn't her flashy passing or her ability to shoot 30-foot jumpers. The Fever's offense runs through her. She dictates the pace of the game, and she controls the game. Turnovers aside, Caitlin Clark is clearly the best passer in the entire league. She has the ability to find her teammates in almost any situation. If you're going to beat her, you have to pick one way to defend her. You can't stop her from scoring and passing at the same time. You either have to keep her from lighting you up from outside and trust her teammates to beat you instead, or you have to keep her from finding them and risk having her put up 20 shot attempts a game and hope she misses most of them. Her turnovers are mainly from her taking risks, not just from her teammates not catching her passes. She is a huge risk-taker, and that is her most glaring weakness. She is on the top of everyone's scouting reports for a reason.
On top of that, the Fever have improved significantly. The team is a few wins better than at this point last season, and they are going to make the playoffs. The Fever just beat the Liberty, the team with the best record in the league at the time and held them to 78 points after getting blown out of the gym their first 3 meetings. That team improved because Caitlin Clark provided the one thing they've been missing, and that's a playmaker that can not only score, but pass. Caitlin knows that not only does she have weapons, but she also knows she can trust them. She makes everyone's game easier. Everyone around the league has taken notice. Just ask the Liberty. Ask the Mercury. If the Fever can continue to play this way, I doubt anyone would really want to play against them, especially in Indiana.
The scary thing about Caitlin is that this is still her rookie year, and the game still has not slowed down much for her. She's already playing well enough to be a frontrunner for the ROTY. She hasn't even played her best game yet, and she just got a triple-double. That wasn't even her best performance. Just wait until the game finally slows down. I give it about a year. As long as she's healthy, her upside is better than anyone else in the league. She will be hitting more of her shots, committing less turnovers, and averaging at least 20 points and 10 assists with maybe 7 or 8 rebounds per game, and she'll get multiple triple-doubles. By the time she turns 30, she'll have at least 1 MVP award, and maybe a championship to go with it because the Fever will finally build a team around her that fits her style of play (I give it a few years).
As for Angel Reese, her game is way more simple than Caitlin's game. All she has to do is play under the paint. All she has to do is score and get rebounds. That's it. It's a simple game for Angel, but judging by the fact that the double-double streak was only about 13 games, everyone before Angel has made it far too complicated... which reminds me... HOW did Brittney Griner not have such a streak? (nevermind, who cares?)

So all of this is so crazy - I do understand just how difficult defense can be - When you play against someone on a different level, it's like being stuck in concrete while the opponent gently slides past or shoots without apparent effort - It's a thing of raw beauty that makes you want to try even harder and enjoy the game even more - Very difficult to forget.
Watching C^2 play brings back those raw memories and how early NBA stars like Magic Johnson, Bird, Jordan, Kobbe and Steph Curry played the game - Just a work of very fast art.

Another great defensive play by the rim: it made AR throw the ball from one side of the rim to the other by changing her shot with its great defense! Of course, she was waiting on that other side for the rebound!

Watch Reese's games and watch her continually rebounds her own misses. Additionally, there is another big that other teams need to box out so it leaves the rebounding to Reese.

It’s 2024, sports have been integrated for a long time. I’m so sick of these announcers making things about race. In the predominate black WNBA….CC is the minority….and it seems like most sportscasters….especially the women….dislike her. I mean, if AR was the first rookie to make a triple double….I suspect they would be gushing about it non stop. Can’t we just discuss their skill set? What’s sad…..is many will see AR getting the player of the week or the ROTY as a DEI type thing…..knowing that CC has the better stats.

The most political black athletes kept their politics and the sport separate. Muhammad Ali arguably did more for black people than any other athlete. He never shied away from a discussion about race. But, when it was time to put the gloves on and go to work, he transcended politics. He was smart enough to realize that you can’t just use racism for your own personal and financial aims. He spoke for all black people, not just for his treatment as an elite millionaire athlete. He focused on the important injustices of racism, while keeping the ring sacred. Nobody can ever say he kept his mouth shut, but he knew how to never sound petty.

When you make it about wins, it can come back to bite you.
The Fever has a much better chance at more wins than the Sky and with the Sky having these three games coming up for Sky, July 11th against the Liberty #1, July 13 against the Liberty #1, July 16th the Aces #5 - two teams with something to prove.
I rather doubt that the Aces and Liberty players will allow Reese to have so much uncovered space to play in and what her numbers look like when playing without space - these three games can make or break Reese and the Sky season.
    1) Clark has one more win overall as a team and has a 2-1 lead head-to-head,"
    2) Indiana Fever 2023 (13-27) #10, 2024 (9-13) Currently the Fever have moved up 3 positions to # 7 and Indiana only needs to win 5 of their 18 remaining games, to beat last year. 0.409 at this pace they could win 7 more games.
    Clark has Increased wins
    3) Chicago Sky 2023 (18-22) # 5, 2024 (8-12) Currently they are # 8 having dropped 3 in the rankings and Chicago needs to win 11 of their 20 remaining games, to beat last year. 0.400 at this pace they could win 8 more games which will leave the Sky with 4 fewer wins.

ESPN and WNBA do not give credit where the credit is due, they chirp that it is the other players who are pulling in all these new TV viewers that they have been growing the game for years now and that Clark is only a part of that.
The problem is that it only seems to happen to players and Teams who are playing Clark on that particular day.
Before Clark's arrival, the WNBA entered this season having gone nearly 16 years without a single seven-figure audience - that is not growing the Game.
Saturday’s Liberty-Fever WNBA regular season game averaged 1.87 million viewers on CBS, which peaked with 2.65 million marking the fifth-largest WNBA audience in the past 23 years. - the previous 22 years were not growing the game.
Clark and the Fever have played in 11 of the 12 games with a million viewers this season, - this is Clark growing the game
Each of the top five has come this season and involved Clark and the Fever - this is Clark growing the game
WNBA regular season games generated an estimated $12.4 million in television ad revenue through the end of June, up 36% from the same point last year ($9.1M) and nearly doubling the same point in 2022 ($6.6M) - this is Clark growing the game. This is Clark putting money into the WNBA
EDO estimates that advertisements during Fever games generate more-than-double the level of engagement of those during other games, - this is Clark growing the game. -This is Clark putting money into the WNBA
