    The funny thing is that Shawn has 500 different titles for his video, but it always just boils down to one simple thought, which has made my time playing golf much more enjoyable. My friend is always asking me, what's your swing thought? Aren't you trying to bow your wrist, keep your elbow in, keep head level, put your weight forward, and time your hips with your swing?? No! I'm just tying to throw my stupid club down the fairway! LOL. Thanks Shawn!

    Gotta be honest.. watched 75% of this video this morning before I left for the course.. trusted the thought on the range and was blown away by the ball flight. Ok I said to myself, can you take it to the course? Money game to boot! This freaking video changed my whole swing. I have struggled with a reverse weight shift/over the top move my entire golfing life. I hit it pretty far and have won many long drive contests. But if I am off a fraction, it slices out of bounds or into the woods. I threw clubs in my back yard for awhile, then took it to the range and immediately hit it straight or with a slight draw. Crazy! After the first range session, I thought, maybe it was a fluke and I'll be back to my normal, horrible slice. But no! I've been back to the range three times, and it's not going away! Thanks Shawn!!

    • @golflessons

      Skill acquired! If throwing the club is never going to go away and cutting grass or chopping a tree down would not go away, why would your golf swing? The fact of the matter is that your swing was never away!! It was simply on the wrong task for golf; golf is a game of sending golf balls to target and not hitting golf balls…😝Congrats on finding it finally and now let’s SPREAD THE WORD!! 😎🫶😀👍

We are “Pinocchio” WITHOUT THE STRINGS; don’t try to put the strings back on and think body parts; think about what you want to do with your machine: “ I want to whip through the grass in that direction with momentum and ease and I predict that with that ball position, that distance to ball, that grip and club face relationship and this posture that the ball will get struck and collected solidly and leap into the flight plan I established.” Free of strain and control.

    When I try this, that movement that you do up and down. At least that's what I see. I may collect just wind, the top of the ball, or the earth first. Rarely do I catch the ball first. you must have supernatural eye hand coordination. I've always been able to draw the ball. For weekend golfer I'm not that bad. Can shoot low 80's. When I adopted your tips on closed face strong grip with me being able to draw ball already. Every house on the left side of the fairway was in play, and I missed every green left. Now I'm struggling to get back to where I was. I must admit your short game throwing the dandelion to the target is fantastic and has helped me scramble back to the greens. I can't seem to adapt it to the long game consistently. I know it takes time to make changes. At 68, my mind body (limitations) connection is failing me. You have me hooked. I know what you teach is what I believe. Always had strong grip. Never able to throw to the target. Always at the ball. I guess when I was younger, I was able to compensate with strength and flexibility while focusing hitting at the ball. Bewildered that I can't figure this out. You are so concise. I know I'll get it. Keep the videos coming.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому

      It is not about the positions or the making sure of the grip and club face; it is about delivering a task in the direction you want to start the ball with ease and velocity. Then you fine tune the grip and club face until the ball flies through the air the way you want. So what you need to do is get on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see all the “task” videos and then see the “predict contact”, the “goldie locks series” which will match up your set up to picture perfectly, and then see “target confirmation series” and “stick the finish despite the ball” to confirm you are staying with the shot all the way through and into the finish. Further down the line fine tuning would be the “pre-motor cortex series” and “kinetic chain facilitation series” and polish the shots with “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning”

      @@golflessons Hey thanks for the reply. Just wanted to let you know that the Goldie locks thing helped me a lot with putting and short shots. Guys I play with made mention of my short game improvement. But said to be you suck at approach shots. LOL Pretty sure I saw and viewed your videos from Jan 9th 2008 till 6 days ago. Sticking the finish is my biggest problem. Right after impact I seem to fall asleep. I brace to my target side, try to keep my left ear over the ball throughout the swing while tilting my head like Jack. I think my club selection is big problem. I never want to use more club and hit it easy if between yardages. Knowing if I don't hit it perfectly it could go astray. The mind is a terrible thing in golf. Using your method, I was able to fade the ball, just using ball position. Of course, I wasn't expecting it to work, so I wasn't aiming far enough left. I looked at your channel. I don't have a camera. So I guess I'll choose the the first selection on your premium channel. I think the closest Pro that teaches your methods is a 3 1/2 hour drive for me. If I read the info correctly under your videos. Confirmation one is doing it right is helpful. Thanks again. Doug

    been putting together notes from all your lessons....even used the lag club today which I juts got in the mail. 1 one key thing. On backswing. -Butt towards target which eliminates sway. I played hockey. on downswing, I think of the wrist shot towards the target which open my chest toward target and REALLY promotes the lag to give a snap/sling (which is like throwing the club at target). Was launching it today. was probably hitting 7 iron about 180 yards. Th lag club took about 15 swings before I was able to achieve a pull straight left (started off with some harsh slices) and then I dialed it back right to hit center. Amazing tool. Really liked the weight. The last element - DYNAMIC Square up. I closed the face about 30 degrees as I have a tendency to push t right about 15-20 degrees. Much more practice to go but it felt soo natural and pure contact. Either I am finally learning this or God decided to be merciful to me today

    Shawn, I tend to take shallow to no divot. I’ve found that taking one of my old golf mats to the range, and then use it by standing on that mat elevates me a 1/2 inch to 1 inch off the ground, so when I swing the club, my body adjusts to getting a steeper swing, so when I come off that mat, I’m taking a proper divot bc of that steeper attack angle. Just a thought and a DIY fix.

    Thank you sir,
    I’ve been watching for a couple of years and your many examples of focusing on a target somewhere down field has always resonated with me …..and yet I always need reminders.
    It goes without saying that you are right. Focusing on the ball as my task is always a disaster.
    I take a bit of solace in the fact that my favorite UA-cam student ( Mu) still needs an occasional reminder regarding “intended task” from his favorite instructor….will it ever end or am I doomed?
    ….Perhaps marketing an online cattle-prod for those of us slow to fully absorb the mantra of “task”

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому

      Well, look at golf as a meditative process; you place your attention on task, you stay as long as you can, see what happens and observe where your mind wanders to and keep reeling it back stronger and stronger on task until it realizes that hey! I got this! And it begins to stay all the way till the end without blacking out and getting distracted and witnesses the whole swing through the release into the finish and can enjoy the flight and sound and feel of the smush it just experienced with the exchange of energy with the ball. Little late getting here. A quick question for ya Shawn. Is weight shift and swinging "thru the ball" linked? Ie if you shift at the right time chances are you will swing through to your target where as if you don't time the shift correctly you're more likely to hit at the ball and feel that "blocked" sensation in your swing. I'm pretty sure I don't shift correctly cos my distance is lacking and I'm likely hitting at the ball still. Any thoughts on this? By the way those real feel golf mats are the ticket for a practice surface thanks for directing me there.

      Hi Frank! You have it upside down!! Please see the “throw the club” and “the throwing series” as well as the “kinetic chain facilitation series” on our premium channel and understand that when you throw the club in the direction you want to start the ball, your brain HAS TO SHIFT THE WEIGHT TO THE LEAD LEG TO CLEAR THE HIPS THE AMOUNT NEEDED TO ACCESS THE TARGET. Of the ball is your target, YOU ARE LOST!! To even THINK ABOUT HOW TO SHIFT OR WHEN TO SHIFT IS EPIC SABOTAGE to your golf swing. If you are not on our premium channel, see “throw the club straight shawn clement” and then get your butt to www.wisdomingolfpremium.com for the titles above.

    I am curious, is the distance gained with your method because you are gaining ball speed or because you are delofting the club?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому

      NEITHER!!! There is 30 yards AVERAGE distance (can be more) between AT THE BALL and THROUGH THE BALL! When you deliver speed through the ball, you are collecting the ball from where it lies and releasing it out into the flight plan.

    Why do ppl throw the club way left of target when they do this drill for right handers? Cant be because the target is the ball cuz there isnt a ball there.... appreciate your work as always. Also the take away is a huge problem for most amateurs and doing the perpetual drill or swinging to see the arc blur is great but once over the ball and so.ewhat static the backswing can be manipulated from old habits.... any tips? BUT, I know that's because I'm getting through to my target..
      I played an amazing intentional hook out of the trees in my last round about 100 yards out. Most would have just chipped out..
      Instead I set the ball back of centre, picked a start line and toed the face in by 45 degrees and swung low to the right of my intermediate target to avoid any branches, half swung 7I

    Shawn, I’ve been watching your videos for several months now. And while I’ve learned a ton (and even contemplated a trip to the North for in person)…I’m concerned you seem overly obsessed with speed and distance. This should be a byproduct of swing path, arc, etc and everyone is different anatomically. Chasing speed hasn’t served Bryson well, messed up Rory’s game etc. Are you just chasing speed and carry for your students?
