Watching from China. I Thank God for another step in the development of our transportation means. but I advise the government to maintain the building facilities and the train itself.
If there’re two things that I much prefer about the Tanzanian SGR over the Kenya one so far are; 1. The seats in the economy class over ‘face me’ the hard benches one gets in the Kenyan one, 2. The fact that you did not queue up for a dog sniff search at the entrance. Those two things alone are enough for me to admit that I’m jealous of your system and wish Kenya Railway took some note to improve our own system. Get rid of the squatting toilets though.

Some are great visionaries, some great at carrying the vision to the desired results, coming together is great leadership. Fellow African here, proud of you Tanzania. We will definitely follow suit. The sky is not even a limit for Africa. 🎉
It is neat that the line is finally open, but I admittedly have a worry. That Tanzanite station may be too small. Not the building itself, thats giant, but it only has one platform for SGR trains. Currently its just 2 trains per day so it is not an issue now, but once the line is expanded in the future, I can very easily see how you would run 10-20 or even 30 electric passenger trains going out of Dar es Salaam Tanzanite station in the to other cities in Tanzania every day. More train departures than the 2 per day right now might be needed already since the train is already so full. For that you need to have more platforms so multiple trains can be parked at the station at the same time. Probably at least 4 platforms. That way you could accomodate say, 3 trains at a time, and still have an extra platform in case there are technical difficulties. Thankfully it seems like there's at least the room to build extra platforms next to the existing one. Realistically though the government might need to expand the line in the future from 1 track to 2 tracks to have room for more passenger and cargo trains. That will be expensive but I hope that until then the SGR works out for the Tanzanian people. Also the stuff at 4:19 is not for food stalls. Thats a luggage rack. For people to place heavy suitcases on the shelves so they doesn't block the walkway through the train.
It was designed to accommodate the budget, this is simple math, in the procurement the price is mentioned in $ per km, double ways mean double price, platforms problem can easily be solved by adding the number of trains/hour, nothing is missing here..... if you want to worry then worry about keeping is neat and clean everytime and good handling to make it lasts longer!!
@@abuelolongavida7261 double track doesn't mean double price. In fact building 2 tracks at once brings the price down. You could use the same ballast and do the same earthworks for 2 tracks, have one wide tunnel for 2 tracks built rather than have to dig a separate one. These are all things where it becomes cheaper to build a 2 track Line rather than build 2 separate 1 track lines. It is economies of scale.
