    Beautiful! This reminds me of a salad that accompanied a salmon quiche my husband and I enjoyed after arriving in Paris very jet-lagged (from the west coast of Canada). After arriving at our hotel we went for a walk and were soon very hungry. It was not yet the dinner hour, but a very kind waiter offered to serve us quiche and salade that was leftover from lunch. We were so very grateful.

    Now I understand why French people are often slim! 😊 I’m looking forward to discovering a typical starter, main course, cheese serving and dessert. I imagine portion control has much to do with successful healthy eating. Merci beaucoup, Marie-Anne! 😘😘

    Though I grew up in the States, my mother was French and we always had a salad after the main course. The first time I had a meal outside our home it was odd to me to have a salad served first. I like the cleansing of the palate having it after. Plus like your green salad she kept it simple.

    Omg. I did the Dijon mustard. Added red wine and balsamic vinegar and everything else. I bought "baby arugula" and added everything omg the salad with your vinaigrette was truly phenomenal

    Can you do a video on how the French can do a starter and a main course for dinner without the main dish getting cold? By the tie you serve and eat the starter, the main dish ( mean and vegetables) are getting cold or you have to finish the cooking after eating the starter. I don’t get how you organize the cooking and eating of the two curses.

    Interesting that the salad is served after the main course. In the US you have soup or salad before the main course. Is that amount of salad in the bowl for one or two people?

    Interesting. For us in the US the salad would be the second or third course, after the appetizer and/or soup, definitely before the main course or entree, We also sometimes have a pasta or seafood dish served ahead of the entree, which I think is too much, but ... America, we overdo everything, don't we?

      Bonjour Rebecca - it is listed as Public on the channel - I am not sure why it is telling you it is Private. We have had awful issues with links which UA-cam have sorted for us - try this link to it ua-cam.com/video/UXeZCJJiyoM/v-deo.html
