    Here’s a tip to get that harness cluster off the tabs. Use a heat gun on high setting for 15 seconds max on each plastic clip and just pull on the cluster it should come off with no damage. My go-to method for many years.

    Just wanted to say this video was super helpful for me. I snapped off my vacuum nipple on the intake manifold yesterday and had to remove it so I could drill and tap a new brass 1/4” Hose Barb x 1/8” MIP NPT fitting for my BOV. Thank you!

    Hello , What vehicle are you working on in this video ?

  • @sunnydz9476
    @sunnydz9476 8 місяців тому

    Wish I could have seen the belt tensioner part. I’m worried about stripping it where I insert the T-60 because of the bad angles. The video skipped. Did clamping on the T-60 still work after adding a bar? Also, Did you end up having to create more angles by loosening the charge hose more?

    • @brarautorepairs
      @brarautorepairs 6 місяців тому

      As long as you have a T60, it will be fine. Put a pin into the tensioner to keep it in place once you have it to the maximum retracted position. Even a T55 can work in a pinch but it might skip/strip it if the angle is off.
      With the T60 fully inserted, you have enough room for a 1/2 ratchet. You'll need to put a bar on the end ratchet for leverage.

    Good film, tx. Are the manifold nuts + bolt steel or aluminum? If aluminum or if they have blue paint/threadlock from factory, should replace

    Quick question can’t u just leave the throttle body attached and remove the intake manifold as a whole? Great video by the coming from the hpfp video

    • @tunerworld
      @tunerworld  3 роки тому

      Possibly! It’s only 4 bolts so I always remove it personally. Thank you I appreciate it :)

    Would the process be similar for a N55? I need to get a new vacuum pipe installed on 535i’s N55.

    Hey thanks for your help, a question do we need to reprogram throttle body after being removed? And what should I do if I found sludge been build on valve cover? My car was running fine but after I removed what I can and replaced the valve cover gasket the car rough idle

    • @tunerworld
      @tunerworld  2 роки тому

      Nope! No need to reprogram. Just do the throttle relearn procedure

    • @tunerworld
      @tunerworld  2 роки тому

      You turn the ignition to on and right away you hold the throttle down for 30 seconds. Then after 30 seconds, still hood throttle but turn ignition off and hold another 30 seconds (never release the throttle).
      After that time passes, you can release the throttle and let the car sit for about 5 minutes. That should relearn and fix your rough idle

      @@tunerworld I've been trying to get that little black box off for a week. I broke the two lower clips trying to pry it off. I can't get a dremel in there to cut the metal. A can of liquid wrench and pb blaster later and it's still stuck on. I can't figure out how to unclip the lower box either. Please help lol.

      @@Khartric I usually use a screwdriver as a pry bar. Sometimes it’s rusty and sometimes it comes right off! I tend to not clip it back on all the way when it comes time to put it back together

      @@tunerworld I've tried to pry it off, but I promise there is no way it's coming off with prying. I can't even fit a tiny Swiss army knife in between the clip and the plastic. If anything I've smashed some of the plastic down over the top of the clip. Any suggestions? I can't get a dremel in there as there isn't enough room. And I've already snapped off the lower 2 clips, just the top 2 in.

      @@Khartric for what it’s worth, a heat gun on high setting applied to the plastic clips on top of the metal tabs for about 15 seconds each and yank. Should come right off. Been doing it this way for years

      Haha it’s actually super easy putting it back in once you figure out the angle. It’s gotta go in at like a 30 degree tilt because of the way the studs are
