The Hindustan Ambassador is an automobile that was manufactured by Hindustan Motors of India from 1957 to 2014, with improvements and changes over its production lifetime. The Ambassador was based on the Morris Oxford series III model, first made by Morris Motors Limited at Cowley, Oxford in the United Kingdom from 1956 to 1959.
The iconic car soon emerged as a status symbol and remained a best-selling car for decades. However, after 57 years of being in production, Hindustan Motors stopped manufacturing the car in 2014. The last car rolled out of the HM factory in Uttarpara, West Bengal, before the plant was shut.

Can you tell why they shifted their plant from Gujarat to West bengal.

The company shifted its activities to Uttarpara in West Bengal and set up facilities for manufacture of cars and trucks there. The manufacturing of the iconic Ambassador car was done from Uttarpada.👍
