I just bought an XL in the last few weeks and absolutely love it. However it's annoys the bejesus out of me that here in Oz manual transmissions (from Ford) are no longer available; I have to make do with a six speed auto (which in isolation is fine) but for me it's no substitute.
Really like this ranger. Actually love it. Love the simplicity of it, really rugged and no stings attached. I think this is going to do well in the workshop, agricultural and commercial industry. Or even your typical guy like myself. 🔥👏
Watching this from Australia and am quite jealous ford offer you the manual gearbox over there, here they only offer auto’s, the 10 spd is available in all models along with the 6spd in the lower ones too
I spent 9 years living in Somerset west,i was always wondering why South African people were crazy about their ''Bakkies''...Now that i live in Spain i bought one!Lol...Ranger limited auto...Thanks for the review!!
It certainly is a winner! The Wiltrack, even at it's price, is a fantastic vehicle and extremely well equipped. My only advice is to make sure it is fitted with all-terrain tyres! Have you taken a look at my candid review of the Wildtrack?
Ford Ranger XL in Australia compare to Philippines is different mug wheels. Did you replace mug wheels? Here in Ph is ugly mug wheels. That is single turbo. What is the fuel consumption compare to Ford Ranger XT or Sport?
THanks for the comment. The vehicle is not my own as it is a demo model at a dealership, so everything as you see it is part of option pack 4 available on this model. I cover consumption in my review but from memory i was averaging around 8L/100km
You have driven both 2ltr single turbo and the 2 ltr Bi-Turbo: for daily use is the single turbo enough? and when towing or with heavy use (all seats filled up) do you feel like the single turbo wont be powerful enough? Whats your take?
Hey there, thanks for your comment. I honestly found the single turbo no problem at all. I used it to move my mate into a new house and did not feel the tow-load at all. It felt powerful enough and stable! Definitely a good option as a daily driver.
Thanks for this review! Super helpful. Living in SA, do you feel the need to put a roller shutter/cab on the bakkie? Or do you just put stuff you're carrying in the back seats??
hey, sorry for only responding now. I think it all depends on what you are transporting, how far you are travelling and, as with any city, any where in the world... what areas you're travelling through. I generally like the roller shutters, regardless though. I think they look great and certainly give you peace of mind
As an American, seeing the steering wheel on the right side as you shift manually in a Ford truck leaves me completely baffled lol Awesome review!
Thanks for the Comment. As a South African, everything being on the left is completely baffling... so i understand where you are coming from! haha

As someone looking to buy a ranger in South Africa. I would appreciate a couple more video's goings through the different option packs.

@@capetownactiveofficial lekker - agreed!
Great video
How is the ride comfort and sound insulation like?
No complaints at all. I found the XL really comfortable and well equipped for it's spot in the market and had no issues with road noise!
was this a Bi Turbo?
Single
