that would be because its impossible for a computer to simulate true randomness. coding cant "randomly" pick stuff, so what devs do is design "seeds" which allow the game to decided the random outcome based off the seed telling them which overlycomplicated preselected outcome to play out.
Anecdotal but I started playing this on my tablet and got more heads overall since I felt I had better control over the coin. If it turns out Dena actually physically modelled the coin that would be downright hilarious
Actually it doesnt matter how u flip it the outcome has already been decided..use misty note the result and instantly back out from the app before ur turn ends, u come back and will get connection instability message then u will get to flip it again, this time no matter how u throw the coin it will be same! Sometimes coin flipped like crazy to get the initial results😂
That's true, sometimes the connection fails when I've already flipped the coin, so the game restart it. And I'm like "oh great, another chance to get head" But it doesn't matter because the result ends always being the same, even if I try to flip it "different".
I learned about this earlier today too. It was just waiting to be discovered because as I flipped the digital coin in the app there was always a feeling of physical control and technique to it. The pokemon tcg for game boy coin flip gave me a similar impression with the timing you pressed the button to flip the coin as you are watching the coin spin and given the choice of the timing. It feels like no matter how crazy it seems it was a deliberate choice for the coin flip to require "skill" since it gives you the option of how strongly to throw the coin and it doesn't give you that option just for the flavor of realism. It is wrong regardless but that is often the nature of rolling dice and flipping coins, otherwise all rng results would be a product of an rng machine to be completely fair and that wouldn't be practical in a tcg game at least irl. It puts also into question why players are allowed to have their literal hands for mechanical randomness that affect their own interests in games.
You said you could use a mouse to create input? Find a TAS program that you can run to test if the same inputs makes the same outputs. Find the range of the described result (coin lands on your active), then test it 10x at each extreme and middle. If the same inputs don’t make the same physics, then it’s random.
Macroing is definitely against ToS. Also input and server latency response to the movement might be inconsistent. if the macro moves the same amount but it only sometimes registers a flip then it can't be tested

I run a Pincurchin deck with Pikachu EX. There's text at the top of the screen, and what I usually do is drag the coin until it cant move, finger at the tip of the coin, and swipe up at a "medium" speed? And release when my finger lands on the text. 9 times out of 10 I get heads, no joke. I rarely get tails ever, and I consider myself a HIGHLY unlucky person.
The coin flip should be changed to a button, the flip can definitely be gamed. I've noticed if I don't flip it with a lot of force it will land heads, but it takes practice to get it right.
