This "laptop" is actually a pretty good choice for those who are heading to college and needed a simple piece of tech to take notes on (though you could just use a notebook) and doesn't want to carry around a $1,000 piece of technology around, or be used as sort of like a backup computer if you got nothing else to use at the time. If it can do web browsing well enough + be able to do Microsoft Office applications like word and PowerPoint, plus if the battery is relatively decent enough to get through most of your day on a single charge (or at least until you get to the next outlet), this device seems like a good buy.
For a first computer or secondary machine, I think it looks nice.
It’s ok for a secondary computer but if you really need a super thin and small laptop the MacBook is ok if you are in to Mac or a chomebook if you only do word and stuff like that

It's not a good buy, this is coming from a guy that's been reviewing RCA tablets for years. I'd save up for a little more like $200 if I were you and go look at the 2 in 1's at that price like the Aoson r106 which are much better imo

Or you could just buy a lenovo thinkpad (for less than $100). Their build quality is pretty good, i would even compare it to a high end ultrabook (for what i've seen and read about it). And with a lightweight linux distro you get a smooth experience, perfect for work related stuff (unless you need to do some heavy graphic stuff) as well as browsing the web.

Windows 10 is usually shit on older hardware for some reason. My older core i5 Macbook Pro takes 15 mins to start up Windows 10 but 2 minutes for Windows 7. And an Atom laptop like this can start up Windows 10 in less than 2 minutes despite being really weak.

NO,DON'T SPEND MONEY ON THIS. I have a similar laptop with a bit better CPU, I can assure it's total shit, CPU usage goes up to 100% when watching YT and lags a ton. Get an old MacBook with a Core 2 Duo or a ThinkPad with a first gen i5 or a Core 2 Duo.
EDIT: Mine is the Asus T100 with an Atom Z3740 btw.
I recommend a Chromebook over this. Similar price range and ChromeOS probably runs a lot smoother than this laptop would run Windows 10.

Not a gamer so I am more interested in the keyboard and Windows performance overall. Track pad can be replaced with Bluetooth mouse. How was the typing experience? Does the extra inch over the Cambria 10.1 allow for better placement of the keys? How about air printing using this device? Any problems taking and printing out notes? Just curious questions from someone who is interested in a "real user" experience.

i had this as my first laptop like a yr ago... i told my parents it sucked... it did... i went through 3 in like 2 months... dont buy it... i chose a CHROMEBOOK OVER IT when my parents were tired of returning it now i have a proper laptop with a 10th gen i5 16 gb ram and a decent look, the one i have is a lenovo ideapad 3 (november 2020 model) and i can play minecraft at 48 chunks, light shaders at like 30 fps which is fine bc u never need 48 chunks lol)

I just bought none. It really isn't so bad. No. You don't want it as your primary device. But as a secondary device to take with you places, it works fine.
I bought one a little while back.
Here's my suggestion:
NEVER BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE
It's a lot slower than this video makes it out to be. A LOT slower.
The battery is awful and doesn't last very long at all.
It takes a VERY long time to charge it (don't ask me why).
It uses a speaker that fires AWAY from you and it's very tinny.
I ended up just using it as my alarm clock after a few months. I eventually couldn't even use it for that because the speakers randomly stopped working one day.
Same, and it sucks at gaming, like, I mean it’s complete trash of trash and what I’m talking about is I tried playing roblox on it because I was bored and it was the only thing I had at the moment, I got ping of 800+ sometimes spiking up to 11k, and at most times I could barely even control my character it would like freeze on a key

There are use cases. Dedicated IRC machine. A cheap monitor for a security camera. A router with a built in UPS (battery). The machine you take over to update the router when you're too lazy to disconnect the better laptop. Although not many of those are relevant for non-IT or non-geek people. But a sacrificial laptop for someone who spills things a lot. A travel machine for checking email if you broke, lost, or forgot your laptop. You should have tested if it could skype or discord. Most of the time my other laptop watches youtube or reads game guides so my main machine isn't affected by those things. Which that machine could do like a champ. Although mostly I like laptops and cheap ones because of the power draw. If it's 15W under load, I can put 4 of them on one plug and not have to worry about melting wires behind walls. Or popping the fuse on the power pole, or becoming a juicy target during an electrical storm. Or living in a room that's 90F when the rest of the house is 70F.

For a drawing tablet, I probably wouldn't recommend it. The display isn't great, and the touchscreen can be sketchy. Further, the display drivers are unreliable and crash frequently, and overall, 2 GB of RAM and Intel Atom are quite cramped. A techie can squeeze a good bit of usefulness from it, though nowadays, I wouldn't recommend it for most people.

New versions came out this year 2019. The Windows one is simular to this one 2 years later. The Android on RCA Delta Pro just came out and has 2 gig ram, PIE - 9, 11.6 Screen.

And something cheaper than a Chromebook that starts at 200 USD. If you get the Windows OS version you would prob need a virus protection app updated often.

The way I see it. It is not for gaming and out performed the expectations of the testers. So I believe it is a good for what it can do, if you are trying to play high res games on a Windows based TABLET(not laptop) then you will be greatly unimpressed. But that's my 2 cents( I just fix cars for a living)
I paid the same price for a used HP elitebook with 2nd gen core i5 and 8gb of ram and it's really fast with premium built and lots of ports. Sometimes getting a used windows laptop is the way to go if you are on a budget. Especially considering that laptop used to cost 1100 euro. Thank you depreciation god.

He's right. It really isn't that bad. It feels pretty sturdily built It searches reasonably fast. It has a front and back camera. It has a surprisingly sharp screen. The screen and keyboard connect and disconnect pretty well. As long as you don't open too many tabs, you should be ok. You can buy a wireless mouse if you want to make the tapping problem easier. The speaker really is stronger than we might have expected. And you can connect external speakers. For the $120..price, it's surprisingly good. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't receive wifi very well. You have to be 20-25 feet away from your wifi source. But as Austin says: "It really isn't that bad!"

I play CS:GO on an ASUS X205TA containing a Z3735f (low to medium settings with a 1024x768 resolution) using an external hard drive over USB 2.0 and I get 45-50 fps ... you may want to revisit that test. At this resolution, It still looks good and only cuts the viewing angle, but still fun. Try it.

+Austin -- You messed this one up really, really badly. You talked about, and the title touted a "$120 Laptop" but you reviewed the W1162 which is a $200 Tablet PC. Neither the 11.6 inch screen or the 10.1 inch screen are "laptops" and they actually have somewhat different specs so the apps that ran on the W1162 may not work on the smaller $120 Cambio. I'm thinking you should research this and make a small video correcting the information.

The 3.0 photon 500$ build needs to be updated because the motherboard is currently out of order. Is there any alternative?
I miss the older nextbook brand versions of these, they were miles ahead. I broke mine and later picked one of these up assuming it'd be similar, but no. Everything was garbage. Back to walmart it went. If you need a cheap laptop, just pick up an old business laptop on ebay and grab an ssd.
I have a Nextbook similar to it and I love it! Battery lasts 10 hours, and simply works. Better than my other netbooks
You know what, that would actually be useful for me because I just need a screen bigger than my cell phone to browse the web on while I save to build my first real desktop. My AMD FX laptop is certainly showing its age and that tablet would probably work just as fast lol. Ima get me one and find out some more about it.
For these kind of products I'm not worried about what it can do and the performance. I'm more worried about how long it will last and the build quality.
Protip for anyone who can only spend this kind of money on a laptop: If you search used, older generation devices on Ebay, you might find a better device than a modern, ultra budget device. Also, if touch screens aren't needed, finding a device with a good looking screen but a damaged digitizer can save you a ton of money.
These tips aren't for everyone, but if you're already on a tight budget, you might as well try.

HP has an almost godlike laptop for $200 running an a10 cpu with performance of an i3 and upgradable memory to 8GB. If anyone wants a budget laptop that can actually get stuff done, go for that(cant remember the model number though).
