My favorite cover on UA-cam; most people just shoot the intro bass pyrotechnics only, or they play the rest of the parts but skip over half the notes. Here, the B-part is played Exactly the way Marcus does it, with all the feel (slides, hammer-ons, etc). I really, really like/appreciate that. It really makes the character of the song just as much as the busy boogie in the "A" section. Great tone, too!
The first song I have heard by Marcus Miller. Since then, I knew I wanted to learn to play bass guitar. @Darrenbassist thank you for this upload. Brilliant work.
Great transcription of the live version, I've always pretty much played it by ear up to now, largely based on the studio recording transcription that I've had for years. It's great to see a tabbed out 'live' version so I can add some of these licks to my own version. Thank you for having the patience to tad out the whole line :-)
OMG! WOW! WOW!WOW! Super well done! Enjoyed listening to your instrumental! I started working on figuring out this tune over the weekend. It's my goal for this week at least... Found a cover that helped. Nothing like yours, especially for the solo. And I found your video today 😊. You will make my life a bit easier. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Certainly some hard (?) work to write this down. 👍💪🙏❤
Try to remember the key (I think the Key is E Minor). Then try to relate the chord appearing in the superior part of the tab. The solos take some time to learn, but after that the song is pretty easy and repetitive so it is definitively possible to do in a couple weeks!
That was a pretty good …. EXCELLENT COVER - TRANSCRIPTION it was simple enough to pick up … yet natural groovy feel …. Very close ti the acutely recording That was REAL COOL
Great transcription and playing! I want to learn this song but other transcriptions are much more complicated. Is there any chance you could share your tab transcription as a pdf in the "description" by any please? 🙏
