That guy on alto bluffed me. While he was building up his solo I was saying to myself, why can't Miller pick people to his standard. Then as he progressed in his cooking, left me wordless. This guy deserves some exposure.

I went to Anita Baker's concert at Budokan in 1990. The sax player was dressed in the most stylin' suit with long hair. His sound was amazing...then I memorized his name "Everette Harp" In the next summer, I was watching TV, Marcus Miller performing. so I found the sax player!! (OH! Everette HAAAAAAP!!!!! What a hunk!!!!!!!!)
Marcus nobody can beat you on the bass. lookin at you i finally understand why the bass belong to the rithmyc session and how much is important to impress funk to the music. great marcus
Bass is more a funk style than jazz, I love it. Would be fun to see him trade licks onstage with Mark King! Somebody wrongly put Omar Hakim on drums in the title, that ain't Omar Hakim on drums.
I am not a musician, but I think this saxophon is fabolous!! I was listening to some other saxophonist playing other versions of this song Run for Cover, but I didnt like them. I accept that they are great musicians too, but they werent as good and improvisative as this guy!! What do you think? Am I the only one with this opinion?
@silvia juhos you are not the only one!!!! everette harp is the man! i mean... there some players like sanborn, jeff nathanson or marienthal just to say a few... but no one improvise like everette, just look at the way he plays, all the energy and sound.. its amazing!

I thought Marcus was Stanley Clark. Marcus rocks the world. And Everett Harp hay be one of the the most positiveSax man. Mucho air support. Playing out to the max. Right from the Manard Ferguson school of Wailing. What a screamer. But what depth of emotion and range. This is the Best Jazz Rock Fusion tune in the world. And What Players!

一昨年のブルーノート・ジャズ・フェスティバルでこの曲からスタートしたときはこの動画思い出して無茶苦茶テンション上がったな。

下手くそ観る前は普通に見れてたのに、下手くそ観てからだと上手すぎてむしろ笑ってしまう。ブラス系が見事に吹いてるのが何故かツボに入る。
下手くそが普通になってしまって、むしろこっちで笑うみたいな逆転現象起こしてる人結構いそうね笑
