First Frederica, followed by Renee Fleming.......we Americans can be so proud of them. So great to know that we still have opera to help us retain great class in this troubled country with so many problems.
Oh, Miss Frederica, you melt my heart! Such presence, such diction, such a glorious voice! She is a gem beyond measure! Thanks for sharing this wonderful performance!!
Such a marvellous voice and acting ! I think I've positively fell in love ... And her french here is impressively flawless (rythm, vowel pronunciation), at a very rare level even amongst usual non-french singers for this role. Bravo Madame !
She's wearing the same beautiful earrings that she wears in her fabulous performance of Dvorak's Song to the Moon (also on youtube). Must be her lucky earrings!
Her voice had luminessence. This quality she mastered. I have seen her make the most famous people look like amateurs because of her expertise. At this time in her life she was really untouchable. This and her personal warmth made her absolutely a super star. To become what she was as a lyric mezzo is perhaps the hardest thing to accomplish in opera. Her technique makes her sound natural but she mastered that. At this point pure magic.

Oh Yes, You in the US have held the classics high! Viele Grüße from the Münsterland in Northwestern Germany,

Do you fail to notice just how attractive a woman she is?!
How fortunate to have this performance recorded for posterity. She's a national treasure.

Una grande artista ...che usava la sua beltà con intelligenza e elegante distacco.
Bellisima voz en Rusalka se luce en el aria a la luna.

So Beautiful Lady,,,That's all...No more...
очень хороший альбом,в котором она поёт песни Брубека
Прекрасное исполнение. А её Перикола вообще несравненна.
Please, Marilyn Horne would not be fit to wash FVS"s sandals.
Don't agree. Marilyn Horne is/was amazing in her time. Everyone has their time.
Funny, because Flicka said she could never be able to match Ms. Horne.
@@donnacleland8402 ...erano molto amiche....grandissima personalità entrambe....non si possono paragonare...sono due artiste...e menomale diverse....
@@TessaRooney4EVER yeah, because no one would voluntarily try to sound like that.
