- This is a very detail subject to explain but I try my best! This should get a 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee running if you wanted a simple "stand alone" harness for your build. This is done on a 2000 harness but I try to show you what to look for on other years. Comment any ideas for a video that could help you or anyone. Thank You!

A video on a full stand-alone would be amazing, fully stripped down to the bare minimum necessary to run in the cleanest way possible

I have A92XJ. Motor 4.0, I'm putting in A98XJ. It had the coal packs. Mind didn't have the coal packs. How do I? Where do I hook up the coil and proceed to get that motor running? Cause i'm running sparkled wires instead of the coil pack
You should do a vid on high idle switch mod .... Works good for winching would like to know if theres a way to use it in neutral not just park
The extended idle should work in park or neutral. It doesn't work in reverse or drive. But if it doesn't work in neutral the your neutral safety isn't Adjust right
Brother you have been puting out some great info on XJs. Keep it up. Its helped me alot. I now have second and fast shift reverse. I want to be able to shift myself not the computer.

Yup im doing a fire restore and have a 96 that burned an a 99 to fix it.. its been kinda crazy.
I know you have a video already out, how to make auto trans shift 1,2,3. But I will like ti see it more detail on a 97 up and a good idea on actually how or were to mount switch for the gear shifting and all that. Tanks for the videos! I am xj lover. your content isn’t great 🤙🏼

Thank you for the help! I acquired a cj7 that someone put a 03 4.0 motor in and never finished it. Looking at the pin out it all looks pretty much the same. Once I figure out which way I’m going to go with the crank sensor I’ll be able to wire it up and test it out!
On a 2003, number 12 on the gray C3 plug is the automatic shutdown relay output… but the color is DG/PK “dark green and pink

Yup... its not that bad but my 96 is the basta*d year.. using a 99 harness bc of fire its getting stupid bc its not hard but im missing something probably the coil.. 99 had a coil pack i think but i have no way to know
man itd be awesome if you went into this much detail on the 91-95 harness.. and maybe a session on ecu compatibility and aw4 control compatibility.. i know you can run a 97 aw4 tcu on a 91 but need to mod the plug..

Good video, maybe think of another with showing the plug ends and simplified. Maybe add what wires go to key for ignition. I heard hot but what hot. And fuel pump, what kicked on fuel pump.
Man... there is a short circuit around my 99 XJ where the SKIM module does not recognize the key, it starts for a second and stalls, so I have to tuck the wires on the OBD, like pushing them into the OBD harness/port and then do thye same on some of the wires behind the panel under the steering wheel. But if it the weather gets hot, everything fails.
I wish there were such legendary electricians in Mexico.

Could you do a video on standalone with auto trans and obd data port please, first or second gen does not matter
Obd2 would be simple to wire up. Could retain the oem oil pressure sensor and temp sensor, and read it on your scan tool.
Additionally, guys building these for their standalone rigs can use a cheap obd2 gauge setup to access that data and more in the Jeep
Would be happy to help fill in any knowledge gaps for electrical and wiring.

I had my $25 scan tool hooked up for the better part of 2 years for engine coolant temp on my 99 olds alero. Worked just fine. It was an awesome day when I realized I could fix the dash gauge using a 99 cent magnet. Gonna buy another alero or n body. This time with the 3.1 or 3.4 v6. The 2.4 is difficult to maintenence when it starts leaking heavily. Lol plus the I have engine (long block) and trans compatability with a certain 88 celebrity wagon I have my eye on. Lol

While were taking requests, im swapping from a peugeot trans in my 87 comanche 4.0 to a aw4 and my current plan is using a redesigns shifter kit to get the use of all the gears. I watched your kickass video of how you wire your shifters all 3 ways and was wondering if you had any idea for a standalone harness for a tcm? I really. Really. Dont wanna swap the entire engine harness for a auto so i can make it automagic. Any thoughts? By the way i love your youtube channel and have watched everything youve put out so far. You make us hicks proud.

Welder and steel plate is your best bet.. good luck
There is a lot more than just welding it or putting some metal over it.
Im gonna reword that. You’ve got something causing death wobble which created the crack in the frame more than likely. Stock mount?
Is there a way to run a cherokee engine with the skim key or the rfid computer is what im asking.. my 96 caught fire and im trying to get it back running using a 99 harness... it's close but that computer had the skim chip thing and i dont have that key bc it was a parts jeep.. any help truly appreciated especially at this point. So I need help, 93 wrangler yj 4x4. There like a tapping under my feet toward the trans while driving. It’s not a lifter cuz it’s not near the engine. It’s maybe a foot to the passenger seat, like someone’s down there with a wrench tapping away. I checked u joints but they are fine. Goes faster when accelerating. Any ideas anyone?

If it helps because I know there is wiring differences I have a 97 that I'm trying to simplify not necessarily standalone but get rid of unnecessary crap and simplify

Always wanted to put a 4.0 in my ratrod but soo much wires.

Pretty much all but some 1999s have skim/chip in the key. Little difficult

Hello Dex, I’m curious how you run your fuel pump. Do you run it through a toggle or through the computer?
Usually just a toggle switch honestly
Dex I've been having an issue with my 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 6 cylinder. My oil pressure sensor Guage drops when at operating temperature I already swapped out a new oil pressure sensor and am still seeing my Guage drop when stopped at a red light any ideas?
probably the engine, these 4.0’s will run at about 10psi idle sometimes

P0700 means “engine control unit says that the trans control unit wants to talk to you”, for simple english lol.
You need a better scanner than can talk directly to the trans control unit, and that will show you your exact code. Itll be a p07** code
