  • In this video, I dined at Royal Osha, an upscaled Thai restaurant in Bangkok with a Michelin recognition. Royal Osha specializes in Royal Thai cuisine, particularly the Khao Chae menu, typically available only during the Thai New Year of Songkran.
Khao Chae (ข้าวแช่), its name literally translates as "soaked rice", is a traditional summer delicacy known for its cooling properties, originating from the Thai aristocracy with Mon cultural influences. This unique dish features chilled, jasmine-scented rice soaked in water, served with an array of savory accompaniments such as stuffed sweet peppers, shredded sweetened pork or beef, fried shrimp paste balls, and pickled vegetables. Traditionally enjoyed during the Songkran festival, Khao Chae offers a refreshing balance of flavors and textures, symbolizing both Thai culinary elegance and cultural heritage.

Thanks... I'm always curious about the prices. I could afford this meal.,I often spend this amount on Korean BBQ and sashimi.

@@michaelhutchinson1713 this is considered expensive in Thailand but again it’s not a everyday meal. Also an average any meal in NYC costs just about more than that

Meals where everything is umami, that must be very disgust.

Umami is the source of human pleasure and the brain actively seeks it, so it has nothing to do with disgust. However, I can kind of understand what you mean if all sources of umami are the same, says in certain vegetarian food, all the umami are kind of soy sauce like, making things monotone. But that's not the case here.
