“She signed herself out the next day”? Her behavior with an axe should have been sufficient for her to be committed involuntarily so she couldn’t check herself out. Her vicious behavior and violent tendencies (murdering your partner’s puppy, attempted murder of your child?) kept escalating yet she was not held accountable until she butchered John and was caught. I too am dumbfounded that she was able to keep a romantic partner while behaving like a demon from Hell.

Australia is EXTREMELY LIBERAL when it comes to criminal penalties. If any of you are considering committing crimes, consider committing them in Australia. They don't really care. Criminals are allowed to go on crime sprees for YEARS before anyone actually does anything about it. I've heard it's because most Australians are descendants of criminals (Australia having been founded as a penal colony for England), are proud of their criminal heritage, and therefore have a love for criminals and traditionally support criminal activity.

The malevolent abuse by women is historically underreported. Except in extreme cases where the social appetite for sensational and often macabre events can be met. It is also largely overlooked, minimized, ignored, and rationalized by law enforcement and society in general. It is explained away by those in close proximity as a reaction to difficulties in relationships with others rather than the source being accountable. Thousands of people suffer immensely at the hands of these perpetrators with consequences that remain for the rest of their lives. In my opinion, based on my own life experience, there are possibly just as many women who commit domestic violence as do men. Sadly it is the children within these toxic environments that suffer the most and all the while I listened to this video my conscience was associating compassion for the children of Katherine Knight.

Your description of her as the most feared woman in Australia is at odds with the absence of media coverage for her crime. The networks here did not did report this. The majority of Australians have not heard of the victim John Price. Contrast that with household names of victims of other horrific crimes such as Anita Cobby. Ivan Milat is the most infamous killer in Australia but only a small percentage of Australians know the name Katherine Knight.

It's sad she has such a hard upbringing, I don't think she ever had a healthy relationship or safe place.
That being said...what she did scares the hell out of me.
How could someone do that to another person, I just can't fathom it.
I'm glad the kids weren't there to see any of it or be in danger.
I seriously get chills down my spine thinking of what those poor officers saw in that house.

This is the most bizarre criminal case in Australia's history to my knowledge. Katherine's slaughterhouse skills came in useful when she killed John, butchered his corpse and served him up on the dinner table. She was constantly pregnant, frequently violent towards men and had multiple relationships. In Australia she was known as a 'man fighter'.

But she wasn't and still isn't really known of outside her small community. This case received so little attention from the networks here. If you ask someone on the street if they have heard of the name Katherine Knight, most will not have. Contrast that with Ivan Milat. Every Australian knows his name.

One time in Europe a refugee threw an old Jewish woman out of a 5th story window to her death, the refugee was stoned on cannabis and used that as his defense, and was found innocent.
There have been many really bad rape cases that the perp wasn’t punished and was let off for “coming from a culture where they did not understand not to rape” in Europe too.
