- Howdy Folks,
Here's a quickie review of the Harbor Freight Brake Spring Plier set that I wish I'd got sooner.
I did the one side without these and lemme tell you, it was a total pain to get that spring off. Of all the tools I have, this wasn't one of them. And after fighting with it, decided to see if Harbor Freight had anything. And low and behold, they did and they worked great.
Their cheap and come in handy if you have to do drum brakes.
I hope you enjoy.

I would rather go to the dentist and have all my teeth pulled WITHOUT anesthesia than to have to do drum brakes ever again!
Lol, too funny. Yeah, they suck, but this tool made it A LOT easier.
Lol I've done these at my school countless amount of times. With different mock ups. Just for the hell of it. Hands down bees knees shits easy Af with the right tools and proper knowledge.
The "do-hickey" is for putting the spring back on. It has a groove that goes over the spring post to lock on to the post then you "lever" the spring on to the post. Honda arrangement may not work that way but many drum brake springs do.
@@jerrycallo I like do-hickey better 😜
been doing brake work the past couple days refusing to buy a tool that i’ll only use once…but i’m giving in tomorrow and just getting this tool
Lol, it's cheap and will make your life a lot easier when doing brakes.
I just tried to use these on my Tundra. One arm broke at the hinge.
@@67daltonknox what the heck He Man. Well they aren't the highest quality... But are pretty cheap 😂
Damn Honda has front pads and rear drums. I can change pads in 20 mins... took me 4 hours for those 2 "HE-MAN" springs. Cruel bastards
Lol, too funny. Next time get them spring pliers from Harbor Freight. Though you probable won't need to use them for the next 10 years.....
@@gregslair4278 You are SPOT ON- the rear drums I swapped out were from 2012 - got 12 years out of them...
Lol them drums are easy once you know what your doing an have the proper tools takes me about 15-20 minutes a side now
@@BLACKEDOUTVIKThanks buddy...any tips to share or suggestions for tools?
