Just want to come give an update from my perspective as a "newer" player here again which might help ( or not) other noobish or newer players " complaining " .Doing red maps atm and the build just slaps. It's been the most sweet experience i have with any build i tried so far. Most of the issues people have i think are pretty much explained in this video as well explained in the actually build guide. I have to point out that when i was in yellow maps i felt somehow " squishy " which tbh i think it was my fault to push further than i was capable of. Once i did my last lab and pick it up " Illumination Devotion " paired with a couple of upgrades on my gear in terms of mana, Hp, and Chaos resistances, all my problems went away and i'm blasting again in red maps the same way i was in early progression. The build is fun, fast and the leech and sustain is crazy across the board. Anyone having issues, certainly are failing MAIN parts of the build, have really bad gear or, are " bad " overall . The build is really freaking good .
Lots of good information in this video, I thought i was squishy because i wasn't stacking enough mana (3kLife 2.5 Es & 3k mana) But i wasn't taking the ES Leech/10%instant cluster. After that change my survival is about 3x as high. Amazing video and thanks 4 the info
Really enjoyed levelkign with this, thanks - I’ve since swapped to BV, but this was very cruisy through the acts. For anyone struggling in acts, I cannot stress enough that you should run a clarity as well - I was running Grace and herald of thunder for quite a while after the guide suggested just to keep my clarity up, and it’s well worth it.
Freezing and stuns were really ruining it for me but hope with more cash I can transition from this build to Conner's cycloning one. Thanks for the recap!
Loving the build so far lvl 74, I’ve rolled 3 different characters and love your build by far, tysm for the updates and guides, I haven’t had any issues so far and the build is comfy and deals damage
Thanks for the update video. I’m having a lot of fun with this build (on an otherwise seemingly boring league mechanic) and currently entering red maps with 50c worth of gear 😂. Pretty sure I’m going to continue enjoying my time with the build and will be looking forward to your future update videos!
I like the build and I will take It into the end game; however, as a further notice, could you keep pobs somewhat similar? Every pob is different. Inconsistency is confusing😅
Seriously, this comment needs to be more visible. Usually his content is pretty good, but this build guide has been pretty crappy given the large amount of inconsistency.
archmage was untestable before league launch and even then mana builds have always been builds that require a lot of changing around early on especially if you league start it. Have a friend that started this build and is blasting all it requires is a little common sense and the ability to respec a couple points every so often which is extremely easy
I agree. Having a hard time figuring out what gear to use as the uniques in the Maxroll, the Maxroll POB, and any POB in these videos are quite different. Need an update showing the definitive POB with required uniques.
@@SkwagginsHasArrivedIf its untestable then fine. But at least update or remove the previous POBS - its one button to take it down. Why leave a bunch of outdated information online, especially on maxroll of all places, where most absolute beginners go to for extremely detailed step by step guides?
hi those who are confused or feel inconsistent on his build, please follow his latest POB. This is an fresh experimental build and subject to adjustment
Build is ameyzing! Tipp: use foreboding mana falsks before getting stun immunity and leech will be giga survivablity since perma full mana to get full benefit of MoM. Im very curious to see how that foreboding mana flask can be utilsed with the new pathfinder at home Belt from uber shaper. potentially gaining infinite mana and addint indigon to this build.
Bro your build rocks. I am playing this league starter until im like lv 85 now, almost never die, crazy damage and I am using a 1C weapon! If anyone having problem with defensive layer reaching white map 1. MOM, Insta Leech and Cap resist is a must. 2. Using 3 ele flask increase your survivability significantly 3. Stun immune
I died a bit more, but yeah i did not go too much into defence. That being said, i fiddled around with Frostblink and currently run a funky setup with Frostblink of Wintery Blast + Faster Casting + Inspiration + Archmage. In most situation you can kinda clear with that and with Inpulsa it gets way better obviously.
@@enriquepadilla4172 With Inpulsa now it works great, wont kill rare mobs unless you get a good pop. White/Blue mobs get annihilated. (Also really great with all of the Hierophant AoE)
Ailment immunity is more important than ever. This league mechanic is absolutely brutal. Came across multiple 100% chance to freeze enemies that offscreen lock you and many of the modifiers they get just delete you. The Allflames are also some of the most horrific difficulty spikes I've ever seen in mapping. The mobs it turns your packs into are so much stronger than the regular map mobs.
What do you think of going Block + Glancing Blows + Mystic Bulwark? I’ve been having real struggle with survivability (never died as much as in this League!)… I‘lol try some changes as you suggest but was wondering on this possibility.
grind and buy it. i did lab 10 times and no wintery. grind expeditions; rog craft somethine with a lot of t1 mods, then sell it for less than everyone else. you'll make the chaos in no time.
Great update video. This build does slap and my gear is much worse than yours. Wand is garbage, i have t2 bench crafted mana on most of my gear, I'm using a shield because while frostblink blast is cool i want more cast speed, til then shield charge+regular frostblink just feels better for me. The valakos and mindspiral are huge, you're not joking. I'll fix what needs to be fixed in red maps, til then yellows are cleared with ease and everything else was a cakewalk. Great build, thanks dude.
I did something similar as a ball lightning archmage but am ssf. Still yeah untill act 7 smooth sailing after that you need defenses before archmage swap that hastr for grace its worth it.
I am enjoying the build but there are things you said in this video that are directly contradictory to the leveling guide you posted on Maxroll. Did you even look at the Maxroll leveling section? They have you swapping into Grace at level 38 and you just said that you shouldn't even use it until early maps???
hey nice build wanted to play it bcuz exsang of transmission got nerfed for whatever reason but i wanted to play ball lightning of static is it more viable now or it falls short even comparing to standard ver
Normal Frostblink recovers some CD on hitting enemies, also theres a variant with cast time instead of cooldown. You reserve life with Arrogance support.
I can see the appeal of the build, but im having massive dmg problems with the build. I can barely even deal with act 6 unique enemies. Im using intensify, slow projectiles, unleash and baal lightning as main dmg, along with herald thunder, purity of elements, grace and clarity as auras. Alobg with arcanist brand, wave of conviction combo. I dont have mana for anything else atm so im unable to even use a blessing unfortunately. Survival is also quite low ,(mostly cause i screwed up and chose basalt instead of jade potion). Any way i can get some help?
There is a leveling guide to this build which doesn't use that many auras and is quite different than this video. I would follow that until you get to maps. Should be a breeze, I flew through the campaign with crap gear.
The build is not squishy. I played this build deathless in standard up to A10, and it was not. The problem is this sh#@@y league mechanic that you can't skip and make mobs stronger. I got one-shotted, zerged, stun-locked, whatever.. in campaign, even if I was res capped, running determination, and prioritised hp passives over damage.
I'm still stuck campaign side because of my limited time to game, but I can't figure out how we're doing auras like Grace. In the past wasn't archmage based on having as much unreserved as possible?
you get one 50% aura using eternal/divine blessing (depending on whether you want a sligthly stronger aura at the cost of having to activate it every 15 seconds or so.
Immutable Force is TRASH, you will still get stunned which will in turn stop your movement AND casting of ball lightning, it just feels bad to play, you''ll see chat IMO speccing into 50% of ES is added to stun threshold mastery + Brine King pantheon is just a better combo that doesn't cost a jewel socket as you will get stunned way less often and you cannot be stunned more than once per 2 seconds
You made your leveling guide, your maxroll guide, and your follow up videos, and none of them are the same. Pretty much all of them have missing , incomplete, or inconsistent information. That being said the build has potential, it just needs a lot of polish.
@@FrankenKarn Yeah, I think its more of the website and not the streamers. I have heard them complain that half the time the changes they add dont update, or the code gets messed up on release erasing stuff. Maxroll kind of sucks like that.
I think its pretty normal , when a new season or league comes out, specially if theres new skins or buffs/nerfs that happen between the past and now. I'm a fair recent player on POE , with like 2 or 3 leagues of experience and, i followed the leveling guide from maxroll, and recently i saw him making some changes which i do prefer and kinda understand by reading. With all that said, i think you have a valid point in terms of the way that a newer player gonna be a little bit confused on what and how to follow but, thats kinda the life of a noob in POE :)

Not sure where you're at but I was also extremely squishy after campaign. The build got a lot better once did the mana respec, got unwavering stance, and the 10% instant leech. It also felt good switching from shield charge to lightning warp
i might be at fault but its dying like an old horse in every map. i though it was tanky but nah shield wont regen mana 0 cannot blink because mob is pounding you while getting hit mana wont regen even with mana flask the guide is confusing maxroll said uses this then later on it changes to something new.
