3:45 Foreshadowing of the example of Jesus. He rose from the dead, and plenty still didn't believe then nor now.

What is interesting is that Lazarus gets to go to Heaven. Why?
When did he have the opportunity to offer all the sacrifices that the OT required to enter Heaven?
Even Jesus, speaking to His disciples said that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees you will not see Heaven. To which His disciples replied, then who can be saved?
Lazarus is the grecianized version of Eleazer - whom God helps.
Yes, this is a parable. So what is Jesus point? How we treat others matters? Yes, in one sense it is because Jesus also said as you forgive you will be forgiven, didn't He?
But what does that have to do with salvation? Does it mean that we can work our way to Heaven by forgiving others or by being a philanthropist? What about our sin debt? Remember, the soul that sins it shall die, the wages of sin is death. He who violates the least of these commandments is guilty of violating all.
Jesus said i am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Was He deluded, was He lying, or was He telling the truth?
Our choice, but without God's mercy and grace we will choose to trust in ourselves every time.

I think that the parable is about the rich man, not Lazarus. Of course, it is also all about us too.
