He's right about so much and yet he seems to miss something that's right there in the text of Revelation, that is that the beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king who is also one of the seven. Who is the beast who once was and now is not if not the antichrist? In that case this antichrist would be an "eighth" king and also "one of the seven" (Nero?), albeit perhaps an eighth king at the end of modern history (coming up out of the abyss, once was, now is not, is to come, etc.), kind of similar to Daniel's 70th week being separated from the first 69 weeks by centuries. And referred to as an "eighth" because the scope of the text here only references 8 kings or kingships rather than also including all those in between the 7th and this final one presumably centuries later. It is my assertion that Nero is the future antichrist as well as an historical one. I think we can think of the concept of Nero being (perhaps) the 5th king and also the 8th king if we think of a modern example of Trump being both the 45th and also the 47th President elect. This does not make Trump two separate people. I hope all of this will make sense to those who read it. It may seem confusing at first but I encourage anyone who reads this to think about what I am saying until you understand it and compare it with the complete text and I'm happy to answer any questions about what I've written here. One final note and that is that the phrase "once was, now is not, and is to come" should be viewed from the perspective of the first-century writer of the book.

You're out of your mind. The entire bible is about obedience to God, and warning the people, including you, to turn to God in repentance and obedience. All those verbs are all based on choice. All those ifs suggest possibility, meaning choice behind it. All you do is condemn everyone except you and those you think are saved. You are just soooooo special that who cares about loving those humans in need--they are going to hell and you are not. Disappear completely.

I have a Klassen Calendarized Bible and it says the Revelation was written in 63 A D this date makes more sense all the books in the new testament were written before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70A D

Nero couldn't possibly be the Beast, because John wrote the book of the revelation in 95 ad yeaars after the temple was destroyed, right? Actually because John wrote revelation during the woman clothed with the sun appeared in the heavens, years before Nero existed if he existed at all. The prophecy like Daniel's prophecy can only be reveall at the time of the rnd.

Listen, if Sproul has convinced you TO THINK that Nero was the Beast, then fill in ALL the EMPTY spaces! WHO is the False Prophet that MAKES FIRE come down from heaven in the sight of men. What did this False Prophet present as the "speaking" IMAGE of the Beast that required ALL MEN to worship the Beast such that if YOU did not have the mark of the Beast, his name, or the number of his name, you would be put to death. Where is all THIS in Roman history? When did Jesus come back and defeat the armies of "mighty men" such that the birds of heaven gorged themselves with their flesh, and He captured the Beast and the False Prophet and cast them into the Lake of Fire? Answer me!!! Yes, ALL THIS happened AFTER the marriage supper of the Lamb, too! Jesus said several times, "Do NOT let anyone deceive you." It was BOTH the Reformation Church and the RCC that went to war in Europe and killed between 5 and 15 MILLION people over 200 years, such that the Founding Fathers made it a point to declare, "You're NOT doing THAT here!" and penned in the First Amendment to the Constitution. THAT is why the Reformed Church can't manufacture little Calvins and Zwinglies going about murdering anyone who disagrees with them, or have hot dogs like Luther who start wars and then change their mind when they see all the destruction they caused.

The first beast that comes from the sea is surely Rome but not Nero who is dead. The beast continues to the end of time so it is papacy. 666 is numerical expression of one of pope's titles "Vicarious File Dei" which also "instead of or instead of Christ" which is literal for anti-Christ. Amazingly all reformers understood it but today corrupt churches deny it. So the Rome is a city on seven hills which is the 1st beast. What is the second beast which is the image of the 1st? So we too have dual natures. Our human nature (flesh) and our God nature (spirit). When we put on Jesus Christ we are putting on the Spirit of YHWH. The spirit was personified in the NT by the authors. If you read the NT carefully you will figure it out. The lamb of God is the Spirit of Yhwh. When we put on the Spirit we are putting on the New Man by the miracle birth. The New Birth. Jesus is metaphor for the spiritual New Man that is formed within us by the spirit of the Father. Jesus is the NEW Name we are given when we are marked in our foreheads for our Father. Revelation 3:12, Revelation 21:7. "I said YOU are eloheim and are all SONS of the MOST High" Psalm 82:6.

666 means the carnal nature. It isn't one man, but all carnal men. The mark of the beast is the varnal people at the end. Those who reject casting this dead world off and join with the corporate religion at the end. All religions that point to an external God are anti-christ. This is allmost all of modern Christianity.

Thank you so much for posting these messages from R.C. anew each day, by doing so they usually appear near the top of the list on my UA-cam home page. I’m 66 years old and a recovering Armenian, only 4 years into my journey with the Holy Spirit teaching me true Biblical Christianity. And listening to messages by R.C. has played a huge role in that, the Holy Spirit using his words to build a foundation within me based on Reformed theology from which I continue to grow. For about 2 years, when I woke each morning I would go to the Ligonier UA-cam channel and start the “Study God's Word with R.C. Sproul” live stream and listen to it for about an hour. It’s good stuff, messages focused on the basics of Christianity and Reformed theology. There are lots of videos in that loop, but they do repeat such that if you listen to it daily it becomes repetitive. Then a few months ago I opened UA-cam to find one of your videos at the top of the list on my UA-cam home page. The title of that particular message intrigued me so I gave it a listen. And it was very relevant to something I was going through at the time. The next day another video of yours showed up near the top of my home page so I listened to it. And I’ve been the same thing ever since, each day finding a new message from your channel near the top of the list on my UA-cam homepage. Where the messages on the Ligonier live stream seem to be more focused on the “milk” of the Word, many of the messages you post are more focused on the “meat” of the Word. Thanks again for constantly posting new videos such that UA-cam sees them as always being “fresh” and puts them near the top of the list on my home page!

One who cut my teeth on the pews some 70 years ago, have listened and studied to both sides of this argument and have always been left with many questions. On one hand we have numerous specific examples of those who were clearly chosen prior to birth and as mentioned here in this sermon many references to support this position. As a Baptist and watching our denomination both grow and shrink in my lifetime noticed several trends caused by this doctrine unique to us; 1. Today, those saved, while children many now have decided to no longer attend or be connected with the body of Christ (Church). When approached to return to attendance they respond back with; “why? I’m saved and can’t lose my salvation based upon what you told me earlier. I’m elected and predestined”. Note here, we are closing approximately 400 churches annually. Thus, as a denomination, we are desperate. Our clergy responds; “I doubt they were actually ever saved”. Then the question changes to; if this is true, then what about the many clergy who fill our pulpits for years only later to be revealed, they were active pedophiles, adulterers or thieves. So, the new question to the clergy is; “were your peers ever saved?” Followed by a more confusing question, “basically, we have no clue who is actually saved among us”. The clergy certainly doesn’t know. They have honored, ordained and anointed peers and in many cases their teachers in the seminaries. Only, later, to find out, they were practicing great evil and ungodly behavior. My experience and observation related to this matter has been the clergy has no valid response or defense to these facts of our current reality. That’s why we will continue to close churches rapidly. When you tell a 10 YO, you are saved. No sin you ever commit will ever separate you from God. Your salvation was a gift and you had nothing to do with it, many believe and ….. Here we are. Churches with pulpits filled with pedophiles and ungodly clergy that believed Calvin and Sproul. Hope he (Sproul and his peers) is right or his judgement will be great for his arrogance and being a stumbling block to millions. For me, I have no clue but chasing God daily, just in case they are wrong.
